♥♥Vintage Valentine♥♥

Hello everyone today I wanted to share my ♥Victorian Valentine Card♥ made for The Scrapping Cottage using all Valentine's Cottage Cutz.
♥First I used the Filigree Hearts( the double hearts) 2 of them for behind my tag. I distressed all my pieces using tim holtz tea ink and a duster. I ♥ using the duster to dust and distress my ink, its super easy to do, much easier than dabbing.

♥ The tag was cut using the Love Tag Set 4 x 6 and my Key was cut using the Vintage Key cottage Cutz and the stamp that comes with it.

♥The little Flowers were all layered and they came from the Whimsy Bird and Cage Cottage Cutz.

♥♥♥I added pearls to the flowers, bird cage and the corners of my card.

♥♥♥Cottage Cutz Die's Used♥♥♥

The ribbon i used is seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon, and i just took one piece from the edge of it and pulled on it to scrunch it so its gathered up. I tied it to the bird cage and the key.
Next I made a bow and then gathered the ends. I glued it to a feather, and then added a button to the center of my bow.

♥♥♥Hugs to all♥♥♥

Living the Sweet Life !

While waiting for the latest Cottage Cutz Valentine's release to reach our sunny shores,
I took a look at one of my very favorite earlier releases - the July 2011 Carnival release -
to see which designs would work with a Valentine's Day theme.
The Cotton Candy die easily stood out for me and I went on to diecut it in white cardstock so as to color in the colors to match the DP I was using.

I used Pebbles Inc chalk to color &
added some stickles to add a pop of color and dimension as well.
I spy other designs in the Carnival release that would work well for Valentine's Day
and if you do use any , do share your creations with us on our FB page or in the comments section here.

Sweet Kisses

Sweet Kisses. . A sweet treat for my love. This week I decided to use one of the New Valentine Cottage Cutz dies along with one from last year. Sweetheart Cupcakes and Hugs & Kisses Phrase.  This cupcake die is a cute stack of two cupcakes with a heart pick at the top. You can do the cupcakes with the natural cake color base or do the base in a paper/foil color paper. The cupcakes can also be made side by side. The Hugs and Kisses phrase die from last year has a creative assortment of words that can be used in any combination.
Sorry for the delay today, have been out of town for a couple weeks and have missed being with everyone. I look forward to a bright New Year and having the opportunity, along with my fellow creative team to bring you lots of new ideas for using Cottage Cutz dies.  There are some great dies coming in this New Year.

Thanks Barry

Valentine Hugs & Kisses

Hi everyone! Today I want to show you this cute little Valentine's Day banner I made with the Love Tag Set 4x6 die. It comes with 3 styles of tags, complete with hearts that cut out on each of them that can be used to embellish your tags with.

I also used my Valentine mini dies from a previous years release to embellish my tags.
This would be a cute a decoration for your home, for a party or on a gift.
Have a "Sweet" day and we'll see you back here tomorrow for Barry's post.

Fun Glitter Technique

Hi die cut fans...it's Lori here with you today highlighting one of our new Valentines Days Die...Filigree Love Birds.  I really wish I could have captured a bit of a better picture, but the glitter was difficult to photograph.  However, I did really love the technique I used for this project.

I mounted a  4 x 4 sheet of Sookwang double sticky cardstock to a piece of vellum and then cut out the die.  Being double mounted it won't cut all the way through the vellum, but it will go through all of the Sookwang.  I then used my fine tip tweezers and removed sections of the tape cover.  Once I had a section pulled off I sprinkled with colored glitter.  Once the green area was glittered in, I moved onto the pink area taking off the tape cover and then glittering. I mounted it to a mini book ready to fill with love notes and pictures for that someone special.  I hope you give this technique a try

See ya soon,

Hugs,

Sending Love

Good morning friends,

Today's card features one of the new Valentine release dies called Kitty Love Mail.  Lots of really cute dies from this release, so I hope you will go take a peek.  I cut the pieces from white cardstock and colored them with Copics.  Lately I have been liking more clean and simple cards.  I placed the die cuts directly onto the card.  I made a sun from twine and also tied some twine with a bow to the card.

So what do you think?  Do you like clean and simple or do you like to see more layers?  Enjoy the rest of your week.

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Sending Eskimo Kisses

Good morning!  I hope you enjoyed a great weekend, and if you're lucky, you are enjoying an extra day this week with the holiday today.  That's an extra day for crafting, which sounds like a productive way to spend a day off.  Even though it doesn't feel quite like it, believe it or not, we're still in the middle of winter.  It's 53 degrees in Missouri this morning, but I'm sending you some Eskimo kisses with the card I'm sharing today.

This sweet little Eskimo with Igloo Cottage Cutz die is so much fun to paper piece using patterned paper.  That's exactly what I did with his clothes.  I added some shading with Copic markers, and of course had to bling it up a bit with some glitter for sparkle.  I sponged the edges of the fur on his clothing with some distress ink, and I sponged the igloo with blue ink to accentuate the blocks.  The sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps, and I finished this card off with some waffle weave red ribbon.

Have a wonderful day, and happy crafting!

Lorie

Birdcage Card

You can never have enough thank-you cards, so I thought that this lovely Birdcage die from CottageCutz would make a very elegant and feminine card for a friend of mine. I fussy cut the papers from the ScrapCake and nestled an Eyelet Edger diecut behind the flower. The ticket is from the Ticket Booth set and the sentiment was a rub-on from Kaisercraft. Finally, one of the Vintage Keys seemed like a sweet way to finish this card off.

Thinking of you

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday to all! Today I just had to share the CUTEST lil' mouse Iv'e ever seen, its called "Mouse with Sunflower" Cottage Cutz , and I think she is just sooo DARLING!!!!
♥Most of the time I cut all my pieces out with white card stock and color them with copic markers, im not sure why, but it ends up being that way.....hehehehehehe so for my sweet little mouse she is cut out with cryogen white card stock, and colored with copics. Next her eyes are black pearls, i love using the pearls for eyes. The sunflower is popped with foam squares and so is the butterfly, ooo and i also used the pearls on it too♥
♥♥I also use the most darling paper from My Little Shoebox, and the clouds are from there as well, just love this design paper, its sooo sweet!!!♥♥

♥♥♥For the clouds i just wrote the "thinking of you" on each cloud and then did a little bit of color along the bottom of the clouds and top of some. I used Really Reasonable Ribbon and tied it into knots and then hot glued the clouds to the ribbon, gives for a different look i think♥♥♥

Of course I had to use the beautiful lace (RRR) and added a feather too. I did hot glue the bow, button, feather, banner, and cottage cutz with foam squares to my card.

♥♥♥Ornate Circle Frame♥♥♥

Hope you all have a lovely day!
Hugs to all,

Doily dies make great tags!

Today I wanted to show you a quick and easy way to make a tag or small greeting. The Scrapping Cottage has many doily type dies that are great for many purposes.
For my tag I simply ran the Scalloped Doily die through my diecut machine, popped out the little pieces, stamped my sentiment in the center with white ink and added a couple of the Snowflakes 1&2 dies to my doily. I added a gem to one and a couple of dots of Stickles to the other.

Have a great day and remember the many uses of doily dies with your projects.

What's Cookin'?

Good Morning Friends!  The winter has been kind of strange here this season.  Still no snow.  I do like the four seasons and wouldn't mind having a little snow.  One thing that hasn't changed with the cooler temperatures is my love of soup, and the comfort it brings on a cold winter day.

For my card today I used the Pine Tree Forest, the 3x3 Campfire, and the 4x6 Stockpot and Veggies die.   The Stock Pot and Campfire were cut from white cardstock and colored with copics.  The trees were cut from patterned paper.  The sentiment is a Unity stamp.  You could tuck a favorite soup recipe inside this card and send it to a friend.  My husband makes some really yummy soups too!  Last week he made a very tasty bean soup with ham.  Have a great weekend!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice
