I think the flowers in this release are beyond beautiful.  So I decided to feature the Spring Lilies on this card.

Designer Steps:
1.  Using the Spring Lilies die cut out the pieces in white card stock.  Use green ink and a small applicator to shade the inside of the flower and the stems.  Use Copic markers to add additional shading and soft yellow and brown details.  Glue the pieces together with a fine tip glue
2.  Using the Oval Doily & Frame die cut it out of yellow card stock.  Arrange the flowers onto the yellow oval
3.  The card base is white measuring 6 1/4 x 4 1/4
  • Cut a piece of yellow card stock 6 1/8 x 4 1/8
  • Cut a piece of blue DP 6 x 4
4.  Glue the yellow card stock to the white card base adhere the blue DP the yellow card stock
5.  Glue the oval with the lilies to the card slightly above center
6.  Add the bow to the base of the flowers and then add the stamped sentiment

Spring Bunny Car

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Tuesday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand-new Easter release with 17 new designs available in the online store. There is something for every card maker with faith-based dies, beautiful floral images, whimsical with bunnies and frogs and several lovely birds and butterflies.

You will be able to take the images beyond the Easter or Spring season. And for a limited time you can get individual dies at 30% off. Today for your viewing pleasure I am using the new Spring Bunny Car die. I needed one more Easter card for the two little ones who live next door.

I started my card using the colors from this week's color challenge #942 on Splitcoaststampers. I am the hostess and I chose granny apple green, pumpkin pie & balmy blue for the color trio. Optional is to use 1 or 2 additional colors. I chose polished pink and gorgeous grape.

I wanted the bunny to be driving his car on a "road" so I used a piece of black cardstock and added a strip of white. I used the Slimline Clouds cut in white cardstock and then sponged with the balmy blue ink. The Easter Wishes is from the Bunny Kisses & Easter Wishes die. It's retired and currently on sale at 60% off.

I stamped a sentiment on the card front in the polished pink color to complete this card.

That's it for me fore this post. See you on Saturday!

Spring Blessings Slimline

Welcome back Scrapping Cottage friends ☺

Kris here to share with you some more Easter inspiration! I decided to make a slimline card with the new Spring Blessings die from the Easter/Spring ReleaseI also framed them using the Filmstrip Slimline die, and I used the heart from that set for the middle of my cross.  Aren't these lambs and bunnies adorable?!  And I love the pretty flowers and bird around the cross too.

I used some papers from Doodlebug Designs.

Design Steps:

1.  I cut my white card base at 7-1/2" x 8-3/4" and scored the 7-1/2" side at 3-3/4"

2.  I cut my plaid paper at 3-3/4" x 8-3/4" and glued to card front

3.  I die cut the Filmstrip die once and the Spring Blessings die 3x and colored the die cuts

*It's hard to see in the photo, but I also added Wink of Stella to all their pink ears, noses, sheep's swirls, bunnies tails, flowers, heart & cross for a bit of sparkle!

4. I cut (2) purple strips at 8-3/16" x 3/8" and glued to back of the filmstrip openings (see below)

5.  I cut 3 pieces of patterned paper at 2-3/4" x 3" and glued to back of filmstrip (along purple edges)

6.   Lastly, I added all my die cut elements and stamped and glued a sentiment and done!

Thanks for taking a peek!  I hope I've inspired you in some way to get creative with your favorite CottageCutz dies!

Easter Lilies

Hello crafty friends

I hope you're having a wonderful Palm Sunday (if you celebrate that)!  Kris here to share with you some Sunday inspiration!

This new Easter 2023 Release is lovely and has dies that can be used for Spring and other occasions, not just Easter!  But I did want to get a couple more Easter cards made, so I've used the Cross w/ Draped Cloth and the Spring Lilies.

Here's a few process pics of my card☺

*The stencil I used is from La-La Land Crafts -- I ran it thru with the embossing mat/plate first, then leaving the stencil in place, I added ink on top, fading it out as I went towards the top.

*The sentiment stamp I embossed in white is from Divinity Designs

Coloring Onto "Toned Tan" Paper

Hi everyone! Linh here and I have a new video up on the Cottage Cutz YouTube channelThere are some gorgeous flowers in the latest Easter release! I've made two cards - one using the Spring Lilies and one with the Spring Daffodils. Both are an amazing size and with individual leaves and flower petals, you can really make the floral arrangement as large as you like to fill your card front.

Today, I tried something different. I colored onto "Toned Tan" sketch paper. I laid down an initial base of soft pastel to get some basic color onto all the die cuts.  Then I went back in with colored pencils to give more shading, definition and texture. It's such a fun technique and a very different, almost vintage look.

Spring Bird

Hello Friends!

It is NEW RELEASE TIME!  The collection is called EASTER and it has 17 incredible pieces!  They are so perfect for Easter and Spring.   Right now you can save up to 30% on these individual dies. This sale will not last so stop by the store today right HERE

Today, I decided to make a CAS designed card.  The CAS stands for Clean and Simple.  The die I used for the card is Spring Bird w/Vine.

Design Steps:

1.  Cut the pieces out of various colors of card stock using the Spring Bird w/Vine.  Ink the pieces and then assemble with a fine tip glue.  I like Art Glitter glue with it's fine tip

2.  The card base is an A2 size on white card stock.  Cut a piece of white card stock 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and run it though a leaf embossing folder

3.  Glue the embossed piece to the card front and then glue on the leaves

4.  Next glue down the bird and add the sentiment.  Add the little white highlights with a Gelly Roll Sakura pen.  Your card is complete

The Old Rugged Cross

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

Today for your viewing pleasure I am using the new Cross w/Draped Cloth and the tulips from the Spring Blessings dies.

I started my card with the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #941. We are to use sahara sand, petal pink and very vanilla for the color trio. Optional is anything related to wood. Neutral shades can also be used.
sahara sand, petal pink, very vanilla

The colors are so limited that I really had to think about this one. The wood option made me think of a cross. So, I decided to use the cross w/draped cloth die.

The cross has amazing detail and my mind went to the hymn "The old rugged cross" and I decided to use that for a background. I found a free printable online of the hymn. I printed it on cardstock and cut it down for my A2 size card. Layered that on a suede color cardstock and cut the cross in the same suede cardstock.

To get the vanilla shade in I cut the cloth in vanilla. I used a pink cardstock for my card base. The tulips are cut in the same pink and sponged with kitsch pink distress ink for a deeper shade.

I decided to make another card and use a purple cloth instead of the vanilla one. I changed the tulips to the purple shade and the card base as well.
Well, that's it for me for this post. See you again on Saturday.
