New Home

I love these new Vintage Key Shapes! And what a deal that you get both shapes on just one die!! Woohoo!! I love a good deal!!

Of course these Vintage Key Shapes are perfect for Valentine's Cards but to me they can be used for so much more!! Today, I paired one of these pretty key shapes with a Congrats on your new home card. I went ahead and stamped the sentiment onto the key because who doesn't love a new home so I felt like it was a nice extra touch. I pop-dotted the key so it would stand out from the patterned paper.

Hope your Saturday is great and you are staying warm on these cold Winter days!!

Hugs, Kisses and Valentine Wishes

Good morning!  Happy Friday to you!  I had a card in the works for today's post, be when I received my newest Valentine dies in the mail yesterday, that card quickly went on the back burner, and I began playing with my new stuff.  I just love this Flourish Tree Cottage Cutz die that comes complete with the hearts to glue on the branches.
I cut the tree in brown, pink and red card stock, and I saved the red and pink pieces for another card, but made use of these cute pink and red hearts, which I coated with Stardust Stickles for some sparkle.  I embossed the card itself with an embossing folder that looks like tree bark, and the tree is actually popped up on foam dimensionals.  The XOXO (hugs and kisses) sentiment is from the stamp set that comes with the Vintage Keys die from The Scrapping Cottage

I hope you're enjoying a beautiful day, and I wish you a glorious weekend filled with happy crafting!!

Peek-a-Boo...

...a Valentine for you! :)

Sorry I'm late with today's post. (I've had a horrible cold all week and it has pretty much kicked my butt. blah!) But I did want to post with the new release - this one is the kitty peeker. Isn't she sweet!

For my card base, I've used the postage stamp die. To make the base, take a piece of cardstock slightly larger than the twice the size of the die shape and fold it in half. Place the folded card on the die with the folded edge not quite all the way to the edge of the die and run through. Now you're ready to embellish!

A Sweet Treat Valentine

I got some of the new Valentine release dies in the mail yesterday and this Tiered Cupcakes die looked so yummy I had to use this one first. I cut 4" squares out of several colors and ran it through my diecut machine so I had lots of choices for my cupcakes. I inked the edges and then put them together. I added some Glossy Accents and a tiny bow and there you have it.
Rather than add a sentiment I opted for this cute little Conversation Heart Mini
which looks just like the real thing. I simply filled in the embossed section with a red marker.
I might just have to make some cupcakes today....
Have a Wednesday!

Rolling in the "Dough"

Good Morning!
Today I am rolling in the dough, cookie dough that is! I used the Valentine Baking Set dies. My Mom had the best Sugar Cookie Recipe that is a favorite in our household. When my kids were in elementary school, I would bake them for Valentine's Day, Halloween, and Christmas and they were always a hit with their classmates and teachers.

This is a double die set. I love this set, and making this card has made me hungry for my Mom's Sugar Cookies.

Cottage Cutz has lots of wonderful Valentine and cooking dies. There are some great new designs in the store. I may be spending some "dough" in the Scrapping Cottage Store.

Have a great day!

Hugs and smiles, Janice

Just a SUPER SIMPLE card this time. Oh, and yes I know it's a cupcake not a "muffin"...But I still think it's funny! Hehehehe Have a WONDERFUL day and week!!!

Nontraditional Valentine's Card

For my post today, I was playing around with some different colors for these super fun Valentines's Stamps. I don't have a big supply of Copics so my choices are limited. I grabbed these two colors of purple to use for the Candy Heart Clear Stamp since these fun candies come in a purple shade, too. I stamped my image onto a piece of white cardstock that I had already cut out using the Postage Stamp Die. Then I colored in the swirls and hearts using two shades of this lavender/purple color. To create the border, I simply colored it using one of my markers.

Hope you are having a great Saturday and that you get a chance for a little scrapping, too!!

Valentine Love

Good morning and welcome!  I still have a few winter cards and images that I want to show you, but today, I have a card I made for Valentine's Day.  The new Cottage Cutz Valentine's Day dies are so much fun to play with, and I did a little playing with these wonderful new dies, and some embossing powder to come up with this card.  I used the Vintage Keys die, and the Frame 1 die for this card, along with the Frame 1 lettering stamps.
I used white card stock to cut the key, and coated the surface thoroughly with Versamark ink, then sprinkled on gold embossing powder and heated it to melt the powder.  After letting it cool for a bit, I repeated this process two more times for a nice, thick coating of metal on the key.  The label was cut in both white and red, layered, and stamped with the LOVE sentiment from the Frame 1 Lettering stamp set.  A few pearl embellishments, some satin ribbon, and a metal heart sticker finished this fun and festive card off, and it's ready for the big day.

Have a beautiful day, a wonderful weekend and happy crafting!!

"Be Mine" Vintage Valentine

I hope the postage stamp die hasn't worn out it's welcome, because here's another card using this most fabulous die. Can't tell you how much I love this one! :) I used it on a vintage looking card this time, also using the heart die and "be mine" stamp.

Paper doily, pearls, buttons, ribbon and lace can add a vintage feel to almost any project, IMO. My motto for vintage is, add a little more if you think you have too much and then it will be just right! :)

Happy crafting!

"He's Such a Thoughful Boy"

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook layout I made with the Heart Locket die. I think this makes a great embellishment for my page about my daughter and her boyfriend. He is constantly giving her little gifts and my husband always says "He's such a thoughful boy". We all smile when he says this and it's such a regular thing I knew I had to capture this in a layout. I simply inked lightly around the edges of my inner locket piece and added some rub-ons with their names before adhering the two pieces together.
Have a great day and stay warm, it's cold out there!

I'm nuts about you

Hi! Well it seems that we are ALL in love with the Postage Stamp die!!! I teamed mine with the super duper cute Nutty Squirrel die. I actually cut two postage stamps so I could turn them into a card. I simply lined them up and poked a hole at the top and added a mini brad {covered with bow} ...this allows it to swivel open like so.........

These would make PERFECT little Valentines!!! I hope you like my little card! Have a wonderful day and week!!!

Snow Sweet!

Good morning!  I have a cute little penguin card to share with you today that really is "snow sweet".  I know that we've all been sneak peeking away at the new and amazing Valentine Release at The Scrapping Cottage, but I still have some wonderful winter themed stamps to show off, and here in Missouri this morning, we're ever aware that winter is still with us.  I think there's snow on the way, and that puts me in the perfect frame of mind to share this adorable little Penguin with Skis stamp.
I colored this cutie with my Copics, and added some handmade icicles for a fun effect.  Be sure to check out all the newest releases of Cottage Impressions and Cottage Cutz dies at The Scrapping Cottage.  There is truly something for everyone there, and it's all fantastic!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day and weekend, AND happy crafting!

Heart Locket Shaker

Hey peeps! More Valentine projects coming at you using the new Valentine release. For today's project I've used the heart locket die to make my sweet Valentine shaker box. I love making shakers and this was a fun one! In addition to the heart locket die, I also used the cupcake2 die for filler along with the seed beads. The bitsy hearts with the beads inside the shaker are the sprinkles for the cupcake. :) Use on a layout or card, or give to your sweetie with a box of candy.

The key charm has been in my stash for eons and I thought it was the perfect touch with the scalloped heart. To make the lacy look, I used my push pad and a large sewing needle, punching holes all around the outside in each of the scallops.

Thanks for visiting today. Be sure to check the store for more super cutie Valentine dies and stamps. Making Valentines with the kids just got a whole lot more fun. :)

So Much you Can Do!

A couple of weeks ago I showed you a sneak peek of this Circle w/Eyelets die and made a bunch of Christmas tags with it. Today I want to show you some fun Valentine ideas.

A 1 3/4" punch fits great inside the largest eyelet circle as shown above.
I just cut out a bunch of these eyelet circles in different Valentine colors and then just started stamping and inking. I think this die is one of my favorites!
These can be secured to a toothpick for a cute cupcake decoration, made into tags, a journaling spot on a layout, placed on a card as a decoration or to add a sentiment and much more.
I grabbed my CottageCutz minis from last year to help me make my project for today.
The minis are perfect for this size circle.

I also used the clear stamps from this release for my sentiments. The I love you is a rub-on.

After I cut out all of these circles I used my piercer to pop out all the tiny circles around the edge and they looked so pretty sitting there I had to use them for sprinkles on my kiss. I just applied Glossy Accents and let it partially dry and then sprinkled them on.
The small eyelet circle fits great on the Frame 1 die as I've shown above.
You'll just love this die!
Have a great day and a Happy New Year!
Kay

Sweet on You

Sneak Peek'in Time again, Cottage Cutz has sooooooo many cute new things on the way. The Postage Stamp Die has several cute stamps to coordinate with the Stamp Die. As you can see a slice of cake that is "Sweet on You". I used white watercolor paper to stamp the Cottage Cutz cake slive stamp and used Caran d'Ache watercolor oil crayons for the color, Stickle for the icing and Glossy accents for the cherry. I used Glossy accents to attach some micro beads in pinks and hot pink for texture. The pink card stock stamp frame was highlighted with hot pink ink. Both the stamp and the card base was accented with Magenta foil sticker borders.

This NEW Cottage Cutz Stamp Die and matching Stamps is a cute collection. Can't wait for you to get a chance to use them. . . . O' and Happy New Year.
