Autumn Blessings

Hello Friends

I have just a few more Thanksgiving cards to make.  So I thought I would use the leftover pumpkins, leaves and sunflowers from my Yupo paper alcohol inks project I did a few weeks ago.  The dies I used Autumn Garland and Harvest Pumpkins.

Design Steps:

1.   I used Yupo paper and coated it with my alcohol inks as shown above.  I did a variety of colors on the sheets. I mainly used the dabber to add the inks

2.  I then used the following dies to cut out the Yupo sheets: Autumn Garland and Harvest Pumpkins.  I cut out 2 pumpkins, two sunflowers and an assortment of leaves

3.  For the card base I cut a piece of kraft card stock 11 x 4 1/4 folded it in half and then cut the front flap in half leaving a front flap measuring 4 1/4 x 2 3/4.  For the inside I cut a piece of rust colored card stock 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and a piece of leaf DP 4 x 5 1/4.  For the front flap I cut a piece of rust card stock 4 1/8 x 2 5/8 and then a piece of polka dot yellow DP 4 x 2 1/4.  For the front panel cut a piece of kraft card stock using the largest pieced rectangle die and the second from the largest scallop retangle die for the green DP

4.  Glue the rust and leaf papers to the inside of the card.  Glue the rust and yellow polka dot paper to the front flap.  And glue the green scallop rectangle to the rust rectangle for the front panel

5.  Arrange the pieces as shown above and glue down.  I left the pumpkin stems unglued so I could tuck in the sentiment

6.  Stamp your sentiment and add to the front panel as shown above.  I also added some bows to the pumpkin stems

7.  Glue the panel to the side front flap as shown

8.  For the inside of the card I used the largest pieced rectangle and cut a piece of rust.  I also cut a piece of white card stock using the second from the largest scallop rectangle.  I stamped the sentiment and glued to the inside just behind the front panel

Halloween Shaker Window

Hello Friends

I have one more Halloween card for you today.  It is featuring a shaker window and some cute little frightened kitties!  I repurposed a mix of dies as you will see in my list.  Dies used in this card: Garden Window, Ghost House, Spooky Kitties, Santa Gnome in Throne (chair) and Witchy Jack-O-Lantern (pumpkin)

Design Steps:

1.  Use a black A2 card base, cut a piece of orange DP 5 3/8 x 4 1/8, cut a strip of kraft card stock 3/4 x 5 3/8 (run through an embossing folder for some texture)

2.  Glue the orange DP to the black card base then glue the kraft strip to the bottom of the orange DP

3.  Using the following dies Garden Window, (cut out 4 windows) Spooky Kitties, Santa Gnome in Throne (chair) Ghost House and Witchy Jack-O-Lantern (pumpkin) Cut out these colors of card stock: black, dark grey, kraft, white, yellow, green, spider DP, Star blue DP, orange and orange DP. (Not pictured pumpkin) Ink the edges with coordinating ink and then assemble the pieces

4.  To create the shaker window glue the acetate to the back of the first window then glue on top of that the other 3 window frames.  Add dimension tape to the back of the window.  Pour in the shaker bits.  For the scene in the background of the window cut a piece of starry purple DP to fit behind the window.  Add the hill for grass. Then add the Ghost House (I decided to cut off the ghost).  I backed the house with yellow card stock and glued it to the hill as shown.  Then take the background panel and lay it face down on the dimension tape

5.  Flip the window over and add the window sill and the kitty as shown above

6.  Glue the window to the right side of the card as shown above

7.  Pop up the chair and glue the kitty to the chair

8.  Add the sentiment and the pumpkin and your card is complete
