Welcome CottageCutz friends!

Kris here to share this Friday edition of the blog.  It's the 1st day of December and there's actually snow flurries out my window as I type this up.  My card however is in stark contrast with a Spring/Summer theme featuring our brand new BLACK FRIDAY RELEASE!!  There are 2 bundles of this release that are both on sale at 60% off!!  Or you can get the individual dies for 30% off.   See the whole release HERE.

TODAY is the last day of the Black Friday BLOWOUT SALE!!  Save up to 85% ☺

When I saw the window die in this release I decided to make a BAY WINDOW card and I think it turned out so cute!  I used the following dies:

Garden Window
Hanging Plants
Garden Butterflies & Bee
Garden Flowers
Sentiment, Hello Sunshine
Stitched Sun, Clouds & Umbrella (cloud)
Grass Slimline

(inside of card)

Design Steps:

I cut my side-folding card base 5-1/2" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2", 6-3/4" and 9-3/4"

Front of Card:

- I cut a piece of pink patterned paper 5-1/4" x 3"

-  (2) pieces of plaid paper 5-1/4" x 1"

Inside of Card:

- I cut a piece of blue cloud patterned paper 5-1/4" x 3-7/8"

- a piece of pink patterned paper 5-1/4" x 1-1/4"

- a strip of polka-dot paper 5-1/4" x 1/4"

- a piece of green pattern paper 3-7/8" x 2" - die cut the top with Grass slimline

Front of Card:

- I glued the pink piece to the middle of my card front.

- I die cut the window as shown above.  *Keep the window that is cut out for the inside.

Inside of Card:

- I added strips of Scor Tape around the window opening

-  adhered a piece of 3" x 4" window sheet.

For the front of card:

- I die cut (2)  windows from white cardstock and glued them on top of each other.

- I added 1/8" Scor Tape to back and adhered to acetate on the front of card.

- I adhered the (2) plaid strips to side panels.

For the inside:

- I adhered the pink/white window that I had left over to the window sheet

- I cut (2) pieces of yellow beehive paper to cover the taped acetate parts above and below the window (size will depend on your exact placement of your window).

*NOTE:  I initially adhered the yellow paper above & below the window, but later decided to cover the lower piece up with the same green as my grass so my sentiment would stand out.

- I adhered the blue piece inside ... about 1/8" to the right of my middle score line

- I adhered my grass on top.

- I added strips of 1/8" foam strips to the back of my pink layer and placed centered between the blue/green layer and the right edge of card.

- I glued my 1/4" polka-dot strip to the center of pink layer.

I die cut the decorative elements from white cardstock and I colored with Copic markers then adhered to front and inside of card as pictured below.

Here it is standing up with the front panel tucked behind the popped up side panel.

Check out this WHOLE amazing release

Thanks so much for looking!  I hope you are inspired to get crafty with your favorite CottageCutz dies!

Garden Bicycle

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Thursday edition of the Blog.

It's new release time!!! We have our annual Black Friday release available now in the online store. There are 19 different designs, and they can be used for all seasons. The dies are broken into 2 different bundles with bundle pricing under $78. Bundle pricing is only available through Friday, December 1. Or you can pick up the individual dies for 30% off.

We also have our Christmas 2023 release in the online store that has 40 designs. It's an old-fashioned Christmas theme. You can pick up the individual dies at 30% off for a limited time.

For today's card, I am featuring the new Garden Bicycle die. I made this card for a friend who moved to the Pittsburgh area this summer.

It's been an adjustment for her, but she has been slowly finding her way around and starting to feel like she belongs. She is an avid bike rider and spent a lot of time on our dedicated trails that meander through wooded areas as well as along our rivers. So, I thought she would like this special card.

Design Steps:

I started my card with a sketch that I had saved on one of my Pinterest boards. It's an older one but I thought it would work well to showcase the garden bicycle and the addition of the ribbon and the punched daisy edge makes it a bit more feminine.
I cut my bicycle in colors that coordinated with my designer paper and that look like her bike. Just to make it a bit more special.

For my background papers I used 2 different patterns of designer papers. The pink dotted paper (1 7/8" x 5 1/4") is from the Stampin' Up "pop of pink specialty paper" and it's layered on melon mambo cardstock (2" x 5 3/8"), the flowered paper (2 1/8" x 5 1/4") is from the "cheerful treat" collection" and it's layered on lucky limeade cardstock (2 1/4" x 5 3/8").
Next, I added a bow with a lucky limeade brad center and a daisy edge cut from a Martha Stewart punch.
I stamped my sentiment in gray ink on a white rectangle panel. I used the 3rd largest die (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") from the Pierced Rectangle Set
I layered the sentiment panel on a melon mambo panel. I used the 2nd largest die from the Rectangle Set (2 5/8" x 3 5/8"). Attached my bicycle with clear drying glue.
To finish off my card, I attached the image panel with dimensional adhesive and added a few melon mambo enamel dots.
That's it for me for this week. See you again next Saturday.

Happy Birthday Vintage Card

Hey crafty friends,
So glad you stopped in today!

I am sharing yet another easy and fun card with dies from the new Cottage Cutz Black Friday release. Here is what I am sharing today!
I created a top folding A4 card. I started with a white cardstock base.

I used some pretty shabby chic patterned paper. I inked the edges of the paper with some black ink to give it a vintage look.

I added the mat to a smaller wacky stitched rectangle. I also did the same with a larger mat for an extra layer.

I used some wildflowers from the Wildflowers die. I cut some in white and some in black. The white ones I colored with my marker and then added some stickles to them. I deccided to put a bow in the center of the spray.
Here is one last look at my finished card. I love the contrast of the white mats to the shabby chic/vintagey looking papers.

Black Friday Vintage Mailbox New Release

Hello crafty friends!
Today I am sharing a card I created with the new dies released for Black Friday by Cottage Cutz. Here is what I created.

I created a top folding A4 card. I used some black cardstock for the base. I then used some pretty shabby papers for the mats.

I used some black ink to ink the edges of the mats to give them a consistent edge.

I used some black, white and patterned papers to cut out the pretty new vintage mailbox die. It is part of one of two special bundles for Black Friday. I used my gold pen to add some gold to the various cuts in the die. I wanted the word Post along with that pretty dove and the leaves to stand out. I did also dot around the black base with my gold stickles. I did also add some stickles to the centers of the flowers.

Here is one last look at my finished card. I did add the sentiment Hello from the new Hello Sunshine sentiment die from one of the new dies. I love how this turned out. I love the look of vintage, shabby chic but don't do it very often.

Garden Window Die

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit on this last Monday of November.

It's new release time!!! we have our annual Black Friday release available now in the online store. There are 19 different designs and they can be used for all seasons.

The dies are broken into 2 different bundles with bundle pricing under $78. Bundle pricing is only available through Friday, December 1. Or you can pick up the individual dies for 30& off.

Today we are featuring another card from Marla. She used the Garden Window and the Hanging Plants dies and created a thinking of you card in a clean & simple design.

The background white card base is embossed with a brick embossing folder. She hung her plants on the window inside. Plants are colored with Copic markers. For her cat image she used a blending brush and black soot distress ink.

The team started showing samples with the new release last week so check back on the Blog if you missed any.

Marla also did a video reviewing the dies from the Bundle #1. Check that out here. There is also a giveaway.
