Spring Chick-A-Dee Gift Set for Easter

 Hello everyone.  Here's a little project that I did for The Scrapping Cottage using the Spring Chick-A-Dee die cut that you can find here.  Isn't this a cute gift giving combination For Easter!

 I just love working with the Cottage Cutz Dies.  It's so relaxing and I don't have to worry about having the right Copic markers to blend and shade on my images.  I use Brazzill card stock in various colors.  To accentuate the edges of these dies I used a stencil brush and dry brushed black ink on the edges of all the lines.

 This little purse was an adaptation from the Technique Challenge from last Monday found here at Splitcoast Stampers.  It's called a Box-In-A Bag.  I made mine 1 inch shorter and cut out my handles with the spellbinders oval dies.  I also adhere my bag inside the box and not outside.

Here is the little card that I made to go with the gift tote.  This card is 5" x 5".  I used a Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page called Cherry Blossom.  I just love this sweet little Chick!

CottageCutz Springtime Tea

Hello Everyone!  Today's card features the CottageCutz Springtime Tea die.  I used patterned paper to cut the pieces.  I chose to use the bear in the tea cup.  It also comes with a bunny.  You could chose not to use either for a more grown up card.

CottageCutz Elegant Easter

Good morning, CottageCutz fans!!!  It's TGIF, another weekend is upon us, and I hope you have plans for making it a great one.  Today, I'm sharing a card I created for Easter, using some really wonderful and oh, SO EASY CottageCutz dies.  I call this one an elegant Easter card, because that's exactly what comes to my mind when I see these beautiful Filigree Easter Egg CottageCutz dies.  These amazing designs afford you the opportunity to make positively gorgeous creations with very little effort.  With some beautiful patterned paper, glitter card stock, and just the right embellishments... VOILA!  Something that looks like you spent hours!!!  Now, THAT'S what I'm talkin' 'bout!!  Here's my card in several views so that you can take in all the wonderful detail of these dies.

 I used DCWV glitter card stock to cut these beautiful Easter eggs.

 A close up view of all the gorgeous detail and sparkle.  Just a few strategically placed pink pearls were just the ticket! 

 You can see that I nestled the eggs into three layers of grass that I cut using the CottageCutz Grass Border die.  This die is a MUST HAVE staple in any collection.  I use mine for so many projects!  I LOVE IT!!

The banner for the sentiment was cut by hand, and the patterned paper is from my scrap stash.  I loved the muted colors with just the pop of pink and burgundy in the paper.  It's very Victorian, and again... SO elegant!

CottageCutz Pink Peony Flower/Video

I LOVE the CottageCutz Pink Peony and felt I needed to re-visit my die, and make a video showing how you can create other flowers with it. I also LOVE how the die matches the My Little Shoebox design paper.

CottageCutz Bunny TricZ-Gate Fold/Video

Hello everyone, Cheryl here with my TricZ-Gate Fold Card and Video on coloring CottageCutz Easter Basket Bunny!

I created this card using the Z-Fold and moving it to the bottom. Then I thought how fun would it be to have the z fold gates smaller on top. So I thought the Name TricZ-Gate Fold would be perfect for my card!(Tric is for Trick)

 I really think these types of cards are super fun to make and perfect for adding photo's.

I used the DARLING CottageCutz Easter Basket Bunny, and Ruched white Crepe Paper to cut her out. Ive colored her with Distressed Inks and show how in my video below.

I used the CottageCutz fancy Filigree Wreath for layering behind my Bunny. The Bunny is holding the Tulip from the CottageCutz die called Watering Can ,and Tulips, I thought the Tulips would be perfect fit for this DARLING bunny!!!

I also used leaves from these 2 CottageCutz Dies as well

Cottage Cutz Watering Can Tulips

Greetings everyone it's Carol today.  Spring is in the air can you feel it.  What better way to welcome spring than with a fresh bouquet of Tulips.  In the language of flowers, a tulip bouquet represents elegance and grace.  What a perfect way to send a greeting to a loved one or friend.

In this picture you can see the dimension created in the tulips.  All you need to do is cut out two sets of the tulip from the die on pink card stock.  Use some deeper colored pink chalk around the edges.  Try fitting different variances of the tulips one on top of the other.  Some work together real well and you will see what looks like an open tulip when you put them together.  Use 1/6" inch foam to mount them together.  Make sure to separate where the cuts are to get even more dimension.  These tulips are sprayed sparkle mist spray.  Not only does that help to seal the chalk but gives it some nice added sparkle.

 

Cut out your watering can using two coordinating card stocks.  The edges of all the leaves and the watering can were edged with black ink.  See how it makes the image stand out.

Mount your watering can on your favorite die cut and decorate as desired.  As you can see, I have a collection of Tulip toys in my craft room because Tulips are a great way to welcome spring every year!

Hippity Hoppity ...

Hello everyone!  Today I have a card made with the CottageCutz Flower Pot die.  I am a big fan of the large variety of  house dies that CottageCutz offers!  They are all so cute and whimsical!  I used both colored cardstock and white cardstock to cut the images.  I chose to use some fun Spring colors.  I have been sick with the flu, and needed a cheerful card to pick me up.

For the turquoise bunny, I used the negative from the cut as a stencil, and sponged it with ink.  Just a little tip showing that you don't always have to use the die cut to create a design.

CottageCutz Happy Easter Layout

Good morning CottageCutz fans!  Spring will soon be sprung, and with it comes one of my favorite holidays, which is Easter.  Today, I'm working with the CottageCutz Bunnies in the Grass border die. This is such a versatile set, which includes sentiments AND the cute bunnies in the grass border.  This border can be used as an accent, or focal point, depending on how you choose to use it.  I'm actually using it as more of a focal point on my layout.  Since I can't get my new computer's software to help me with editing a video, my instructions for the technique I used are in the form of pictures today.   Playing with this die cut was sure fun.  I hope you like it, and if you need a closer look at any of these photos, just click on them!  :-)

 Here's a picture of the supplies I used.  I don't know that there's an actual "offical" name for the technique I use here, besides "chalking", but it's a variation of a "chalkboard technique" that I've tried before using black card stock..  Items for this crafty adventure include colored chalk, Stampin' Up! whisper white craft ink (this is different from regular staming ink and is almost the consistency of acrylic paint), black Sharpie pen, sponge dauber, and of course the die.  Can't forget THAT! 

 I started by cutting the bunny border with Wisteria Wonder cardstock from Stampin' Up!  There was no particular reason I used this color, other than I had scraps of it left from cutting my 8x8 inch mat.  After cutting the border, I sponged the entire piece with the white craft ink.  It will take a while for this ink to dry, which is why it works perfectly.   The reason I used white ink on the colored card stock is because I needed a neutral background in order to lay down color from the chalk.   Using the white craft in gives you the neutral background for the color variation, and the sticky ink allows the chalk to "stay put", which it doesn't always do by using white card stock.

 After the surface was sponged in white, I colored the different parts of the die cut with various colors of chalk.  When working this technique, you will want to use more than one shade of each color so that your work takes on a three dimensional look.  I tried to choose colors that matched my patterned paper.  Once you have everything colored the way you like, then it's time to add the eyes, and noses with the black Sharpie marker.   I wanted their tails to have some texture and shimmer, so I added some pearlized dimensional paint to them.  Just give it plenty of time to dry before you glue it down!!

I finished my layout off with a bow and ribbon accent using green grosgrain ribbon.  I love me some ribbon, and find I hardly ever make a card without it!!  Can you say addicted?  LOL!!

Welcome Spring!

The spring collection of CottageCutz dies from the Scrapping Cottage are so adorable! And I'm going to show you how to adjust a seasonal die to use all year long! The CottageCutz Spring Doily is so cute with the bunnies and Easter Egg, but if you are not doing an Easter card, it's so easy to transform this into a cut you can use all year long. Just make a couple of snips to remove the center, and you are left with this great diecut. You could use it like a doily as I did here- or it would make a fantastic wreath base. Don't be afraid to change your dies up a bit and use them in unexpected ways. I also used the CottageCutz Watering Can, Tulips die set. This is one of those dies that you can use for so many occasions.

Easter Sweet Treat

Who doesn't like a little sweet treat, especially on Easter.  I created a lollipop cover using CottageCutz  Easter Basket Bunny.  These are so much fun to make and the Easter Bunny really makes it stand out. The matching Peachy Keen stamp set that comes with the die, creates a precious face. 

Now to go make 23 more of these for my son's class.
