Follow Your Dreams

These new shapes from the Quickutz May Release aren't just for weddings! I live in the land of "all things princess" so of course I immediately set out to make this Rev Wedding Dress Die look a little more princessy and a little less like a wedding dress. In order to add a bit of princess gown detail, I took the center portion of one the 2x2 brackets and placed it in the middle of the gown instead of the sash that comes with the die. I also used pieces of glitter cardstock to really give the gown some extra sparkle.
Don' forget when you are placing your order for these new Quickutz dies to include the FREE Club Die for all Quickutz/Cottage Cutz orders over $50!!
You still have plenty of time to enter our monthly drawing for your choice of one of the new Quickutz Dies from this release by leaving a comment HERE telling us what your favorites are from the May release (alphabet not included).

Fun and Simple Quickutz Mini Album

I just recently purchased all of the Quickutz Adhesive Backed Materials and OMGosh are they cool!! I just couldn't wait to get them out and play. I decided to share a fun little mini album I created using the new Double Sided Adhesive White Chipboard and the Quickutz Nesting Labels (Rectangle).
This new chipboard makes creating your own mini book so quick and easy! No more tracing and cutting your paper down to the right size and then having to sand the edges in order to have a nice clean finished product. I just used the Nesting Label Die to cut my page shapes and then used the same die to cut my patterned papers. Then, you pull off the adhesive backing from the chipboard piece and lay your patterned paper right onto the chipboard page. Perfect fit every time! Then I used my Bind-it-All to bind my little album together using 3/8" O-wires.

You will see several other Quickutz products used throughout this book including the Chocolate Alpha, the Chick-a-dee (which I received for my birthday!), and even Chemistry on the very last page. The Revolution machine was created using the Quickutz Tools Club Die (you never want to miss out on the club dies!!) and some of the Quickutz Metal Sheets. I used my 2x2 Flourish Goosebumpz to add the design on the side of the machine to replicate the actual Revolution. On an earlier page, I also used this month's Club Die the Polka-Dot Arrow (how cute is that!)

Friday Fun - Quickutz Contact Card Projects

Here are a couple of projects I made using the new Quickutz Rounded Contact Card. This die makes a card that is the same shape as a standard rolodex card. Just think of all the cute rolodex cards you could make with it! How about your own birthday reminder rolodex?? Or an email address rolodex?? There are so many fun things you could do with it. This die would also be great used as a journaling block on a layout, too. Be sure to check it out along with all the other Back to Basics dies from the April Release!

Snow Angels 101

This week I have been playing with the new Instant Photo Cookie Cutter Die from the April Quickutz release. This is such a fun die and really much more versatile than it seems at first. You will need the the 12" platform and 12" cutting mat to cut this die, though, because it is a little longer than 4". I wouldn't want you to get it home and then be disappointed you couldn't use your new Instant Photo Die right away - although this is a great excuse to get the 12" platform if you haven't already!!

I tried to do something a little different than just use it as an instant photo replica (although it is REALLY cute like that!) By turning it on its side and using colored cardstock instead of white, you get an entirely different look. I also used Diesel Classic and Lemonade skinni mini.

New Quickutz nesting labels!

I am in love with the new Nesting Labels from the April Quickutz release!! Both sets are in the cookie cutter format and are so versatile! They would make a great addition to your collection no matter what type of paper crafting you enjoy.

Today, I am featuring the longer rectangular set of nesting labels. This set comes with three different sizes of labels. Not only are you able to cut out solid labels in these three different sizes, the dies are also designed so that you are able to cut out label borders as well. So in reality, you get six different cuts from this set!!

In my first project, I created a layout using SEI papers and the middle sized nesting label to create my title block. You can see what a great size this one is for creating titles.
For my second project, I have created a card using the largest nesting label and the middle sized label together.
Keep checking the blog regularly for even more new projects using the fabulous dies from this latest Quickutz release. Plus, don't forget to leave a comment here telling us which is your favorite die from this release for your chance to win a FREE DIE of your choice (excluding the alpha) from the April release. Happy Scrapping!!

Anime Monkey Fun

I have been playing with the Quickutz Anime Monkey this week. In my first project, I completed a layout with pictures from the Animal Kingdom at Disney World and my monkey was more traditional with just some inking on the edges and Star Dust Stickles on the eyes for a touch. Then I wanted to have a little more fun and starting cutting him out in different colors. Once I hit pink, I knew I had to make a card with this pink monkey. Again I used stickles on the eyes and I also traced the word congrats with my Candy Cane Stickles.

Rainbow Spring Layout

I love this new Rainbow Cookie Cutter Border die from the March Quickutz release! To me, there are two things that mark the beginning of Spring - seeing the flowers and trees begin to bloom and being able to start wearing new Spring clothes. I snapped these pictures of my daughter in one of her new outfits while she was waiting for her ride to school. I only used 4 of the 6 bands from the Rainbow Die because I wanted to simulate the rainbows found in the patterned paper I was using. Instead of making the rainbow level, I tilted it on its side and covered up the uneven ends with the clouds. This is a great technique to get a completely different look from this fun die!

Little Birdie Hi card

These Anime Birds are perfect for adding a touch of whimsy to your paper crafting projects! I created this card using lots of Quickutz! The scalloped circle is made from the Quickutz Nesting Flowers. Then the bird is the smaller bird from the Rev-sized Anime Birds. The heart speech bubble is the Free Club this month just for purchasing $50 in Quickutz. Who doesn't love free?! I used Quickutz Lemonade Cookie Cutter for the sentiment and then added some stickles for a little bit of sparkle. I also used Black Diamond stickles to create the eye on the bird.

Need a Hug?

I think this little Panda Bear is so cute!!! Doesn't he look like he is ready to give you a big bear hug?! Using a black pen, I added a simple smile which I felt was the finishing touch to this otherwise adorable shape. This card was created using some Sassafras Lass papers, Making Memories Tiny Alphas, and the new Rev sized Anime Panda Die.

Rain Check?

Just a fun little card you can put together quickly using the new Quickutz Rain Puddle Die. I love the boots cut from polka dot paper! Think how cute they would be cut from stripes, too. For the sentiment, I used the Quickutz Storybook and I borrowed the question mark from Aquarius.

Clown Card

Think you missed out on the Quickutz Clown Die?? Think again! I created this fun card using the Revolution Scarecrow Die! I used the center of the flower as the clown's rubber nose and I used the tree top from the 2x2 tree die to create the clown wig. There's just no end to what you can create with Quickutz!

St. Patrick's Day Tag

Here's a fun idea for a tag. I turned the Shamrock into a balloon and I used the Pilgrim costume for the clothes on my Leprechaun Rev paper doll for something different. I love all the different costumes sets for the paper dolls! It gives you so many different possibilities! His hair and beard are cut from the Popcorn die.

Egg Cup

Here is simple and fun idea you can do with many of the dies from the February Quickutz release. I used the 2x2 Chick Die and glued him onto the green cardstock ring for a decorative Easter Egg holder. I chose sturdy cardstock for both the chick and the paper ring so it would hold the egg securely. I joined the two ends of the green cardstock ring with staples for a quick and secure hold. I added the google eye just for fun :)

Think Spring Card

The new 12" Flower border from the Feb QK release is so versatile! To create this card, I simply cut off two of the five flowers from the border and placed them on an angle onto the card. You can use the flower outlines as I have done in this project or fill in the petals with contrasting cardstock for a completely different look. I love a die with so many options! The alpha I used is Quickutz Strawberry (which is on sale in the store right now!) and I outlined the letters with a brown pen to add a little extra detail.

Lucky Enough Card

This new Shamrock Border is fabulous! One run through the Revolution and BAM you have seven shamrocks ready to go! They work great as one solid border or you can cut it apart to make smaller borders or even use them as individual shamrocks! The shamrocks are slightly different from each other which makes this border die that much more versatile. The possibilities are endless! Keep an eye on the blog for even more projects using this great new border die as well as many others from the new February Quickutz release!
