Oh Baby

Happy Friday!!!  I don't know about you but I love to look at my dies and think about them in ways other than what they were intended for.  Like this adorable CottageCutz Baby lamb and friends, from our current Easter release.  Granted it's adorable for Easter projects, but isn't he also perfect for Baby themed projects....just perfect.

He was super easy to create....I just die cut him and then inked the edges with distress ink on the shadows...this really makes him looks finished and it takes just a minute to do.  The only paper piecing that is needed is his bow, nose, eyes and hoofs...it took no time at all.

I love using our pennant dies that coordinate.  Pennants are so HOT and you see them on all types of projects...our dies make pennants easy peasy.  I used the plain and scalloped die to create the Baby Banner.  Can't tell you how much I love these dies.

Here is a complete list of dies and products used for this card:
Kara Ashley Alphabet Die
Simple Stories Designer Paper
Unity Stamps

Happy Valentines Day with Scrapping Cottage

Happy Valentine's Day love birds. I made this sweet gift card holder that would be perfect for a Valentines gift. Let's take a closer look...
I love the way in this picture you can really see the detail. The birds wings pop up and add such great dimension.   I bent the tips just a bit before gluing them down so they would be elevated.

TIP: Don't forget to ink your edges of your dies to give them a finished look.

The back of the holder is attached with a heart key that was stamped and embossed and is held down with a small piece of twine.

I used the following Scrapping Cottage Dies to create this little gem.
I wish you lots of love today and for the rest of the year.
Hugs,

U Make Me Bloom

Have you ever had someone in your life that just makes you bloom? Makes you a better person just because? I'm so blessed to have several of those people and my sister Gini is one of them. She's been my best friend my whole life..This layout is about how she makes me bloom.

I used multiple Leafy Foliage die cuts to great the vine over the page using two different shades.  I also inked all my edges.

The small flowers are from Spring Embellishment...I love dies that can be versatile.  I curl them inwards with my McGill tools after I had cut them out.

Hope you enjoyed!  I'll see you soon.

Love is in the Air

It's the perfect season for cards filled with love and sweet wishes.  With out new Valentine collection cards are easy peasy.  This card was created using the Whimsey Bird and Cage die.  Granted it's great for Valentines but the best part about this die is you really can use it anytime for any occasion.  The sentiment is stamped on the Airplane with Banner and Sign another one that I use over and over.

I hope you have had a chance to participate in our current challenge....just create a layout and use one of our dies and you might just win a prize.  Here's the link to our current challenge.

Fun Glitter Technique

Hi die cut fans...it's Lori here with you today highlighting one of our new Valentines Days Die...Filigree Love Birds.  I really wish I could have captured a bit of a better picture, but the glitter was difficult to photograph.  However, I did really love the technique I used for this project.

I mounted a  4 x 4 sheet of Sookwang double sticky cardstock to a piece of vellum and then cut out the die.  Being double mounted it won't cut all the way through the vellum, but it will go through all of the Sookwang.  I then used my fine tip tweezers and removed sections of the tape cover.  Once I had a section pulled off I sprinkled with colored glitter.  Once the green area was glittered in, I moved onto the pink area taking off the tape cover and then glittering. I mounted it to a mini book ready to fill with love notes and pictures for that someone special.  I hope you give this technique a try

See ya soon,

Hugs,
