Happy Birthday Tasmanian Devil Card

Happy Thursday Scrapping Cottage friends!
Melinda here with you on this Thankful Thursday! Today I am sharing a project featuring that sweet little Tasmanian Devil die from the Fantastic new Australian Friends Die Release!!! Here is what I created.

A fun happy birthday card with that sweet Tasmanian Devil.

I started by cutting out the little Tasmanian out of lain white cardstock. I love coloring in the pieces with my markers and colored pencils.

I added the cute cupcake from the cute Birthday Cupcake With Roses.

I also added a cute little Party Hat from the Party Hats die cut.

I also used the fun Happy Birthday W/Shadow die set.

I layered all of those fun dies onto the stitched scallop rectangle. I then put that onto a standard A4 top folding white cardstock base. I used some fun patterned paper that matched the colors well! This is perfect because I need to build up my birthday card stash.

Here is the fantastic new collection

Emu..sing Birthday

 Hello CottageCutz Friends

It is Pam sharing with you today!

I have created a funny little birthday card today.  I made it using the new release die called the Emu.  There are 14 different dies in this release and all of them are just as cute as they can be!!  If you haven't checked out the Australian Friends Release click HERE.

Design Steps:

1.   Using the Emu die cut out the pieces in dark brown, light brown and black.  Shade the pieces in black ink and dot his eyes with a black marker.  Assemble with a fine tip glue
2.  For the Mini Slimline card base use a piece of white card stock 6 1/2 x 6 1/4 folded on the 6 1/2 inch side.  Cut a piece of white card stock 6 1/8 x 3 1/8 and blend blue ink onto it using a brush
3.  Using the slimline Grass and Farm Fence die cut out the grass in green and the fence in white.  Also for the background use the Outback Trees die and cut out two palms using brown and dark green
4.  Glue the pieces to the inked blue card stock as shown above
5.  To give the card a little pop of color I used the Koala Bear w/Floral die and cut out 5 yellow flowers and 4 green stems of leaves
6.  Glue the flowers and stems of leaves as shown above and then add some tiny pearls to the center of the flowers
7.  Pop up the Emu and add your sentiment.  Your card is complete

Hop Along

Hi everyone I am back sharing another card from down under using some of the latest releases.

I used the kangaroos on desert samd paper and added a touch of color with colored pencils
Next I cut bits off the tree from the Koalas that I colored but decided it wasn’t the look I wanted.

So I added the limbs to Bunny Tree Cottage tree below to make it look fuller and give it more branches
I used the bottom portion of the basket to put my baby kangaroo in. Spring Chickee in Basket die
This completes my card and I hope everyone enjoys it and see you next Monday!! ❤️❤️

Big Bird Birthday

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a new release in the online store. It's our Australian Friends with 14 new designs. The dies are perfect for Mother's Day, Baby Cards, Kids & Adult Birthdays, Thinking of You, Thank You - just about any occasion you would need a card for.

They are currently on a limited time sale of 30% off the individual dies. For your viewing pleasure today, I am featuring the new Emu and Outback Trees dies, and I created a birthday card for my brother. I kept it on the simple side because I think that works best for a masculine card.  So, let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I blended several distress inks on Bristol smooth cardstock for my sky - Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick and Rusty Hinge. This particular cardstock is great for ink blending.  I decided to cut a slope so I could place the Emu on top. I used the Hills Slimline die.
Panel size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Next, I die cut the images. For the Outback Tree, I used different shades of green cardstock and ink blended the edges. The Emu is cut in shades of beige cardstock. You could also use white cardstock and color with your favorite coloring medium.

I bought some punny sentiment stamps for this Australian release. This one is from Technique Tuesday.  I stamped it in a suede ink.
Now I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the slope to the background with double sided tape, the tree is attached with tape & art glitter glue and the emu with double sided tape.
To finish off my card, I attached the image panel to a white card base (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"). Scattered a few brown enamel dots for a bit of contrast and that completes my card for this week. See you next Saturday.
