Ginger Pocket Peeker

Happy Friday Friends!

Kris here with you today, sharing a cute Christmas card featuring our Christmas Release!  All the dies in this release are 30% off for a limited time, so a great time to pick some up for those last minute holiday cards for this year OR to get a head start on next year's cards!

Today I'm showcasing the Ginger Pocket Peeker from our Christmas 2023 Release, and the fun Trellis Background Die from our Black Friday Release!

It's so easy to create fun plaid backgrounds with this Trellis background die! Marla shared in her latest video HERE how you can layer the die by cutting 2 and turning one upside down!  Easy peasy!!

CUTTING & SCORING:

Red cardstock:
A2 top folding card

Teal Green cardstock:

White cardstock:
 2nd largest Scalloped Rectangle

Teal patterned paper with white snowflakes:
3rd largest Stitched Rectangle

DESIGN STEPS:

1.  I layered the white Trellis onto the Green so that they are opposite (one upside down), glued them together and then onto my card front.  **Thanks again for that awesome tip Marla ☺

2.  I glued my patterned paper onto my white scalloped layer, then added foam tape to the back to pop it up a bit to center of my card.

3.  Next, I stamped a denim background stamp onto my top and bottom layers of my pocket and glued them on.

4.  I colored my die cuts and assembled.

5.  I added all my elements to the front with 2x the foam tape.  I then added some Snow Writer to the Hat trim and puff for lots of dimension.  I finished it off with a tiny snowflake in the middle of my peppermint and 4 green gems in the corners.

Such a cute and quick card to make!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial ☺
 Thanks for visiting!

Christmas Bells

Hello Crafty Friends

Our new Christmas Release is available at a wonderful 30% off.  This collection has over 40 different dies.   It has everything you will need for your holiday paper crafting. Make sure to stop by the online store and check out all the fantastic new designs!

Today, I am featuring the Old Fashion Ornaments 4.  The bell ornament is a rather large die so it is a perfect size for an A2 card or larger such as a slimline.

Design Steps:

1.  Using the Old Fashion Ornaments 4 cut out gold, hunter green and deep red card stock.  For the foliage I used the Holiday Candle Centerpiece and the Vintage Holiday Lantern.  Cut out the following colors of card stock hunter green, gold, brown and deep red.  Assemble the bells with a fine tip glue
2.  For the card base use a cream A2 card stock, 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 deep red, 4 x 5 1/4 holly DP, 2 3/4 x 4 3/4 piece of gold and 2 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of cream.  Glue the red to the DP and then glue to the card front.  Glue the cream to the gold and then center it to the card front on top of the holly DP
3.  First I popped up the bells using dimension square making sure to leave room to tuck in the foliage.  Arrange the foliage as you wish and glue down

4.  Add a cream colored bow and your sentiment layered onto gold and your card is complete

Using Up Odds and Ends

Happy Wednesday, friends.  It's time for another CottageCutz YouTube Video.  I don't know about you, but my craft room looks like a bomb went off in it.  I have been happily crafting away, but honestly, not putting things away.  This left me with a pile of Christmas die cuts I had cut but had not colored or assembled.  I decided to roll up my sleeves and use a few of these odds and ends on my cards today.

If you caught the Black Friday sale, there were several fun large sentiments in the release.  This got my crafty mind churning and I thought I would pair some of my CottageCutz Christmas dies with these new large sentiments to create a couple post-holiday cards.

I've linked all of the items I used on my two cards below, but you can see how they came together and enter to win one of the sentiment dies by watching the video.  I hope this gets your crafty mind churning too and you continue to find ways to use some of the beautiful Christmas dies after the season ends.

Until next time....Marla

Window and Plants Card

Hey crafty friends,
So glad you stopped in today! I am sharing another card with the fun Black Friday release from Cottage Cutz. Here is my card.

I created a top folding card. It is an A4 size. It is of white cardstock.

I started by using the new window die cut. I wanted to make a curtain so I turned the die cut around and just made a quick outline.

I mirrored it and then cut them out.

I put the window on top of the curtain cut out. I then added that to a dark green paper mat and then placed those on the scallop stitched rectangle mat. I then added three of the cute hanging plants from that die cut. I added the cute little kitty die cut to the right of the window sill.

I then added a stone paper mat to the base of the cardstock. I think that paper choice pulled it all together. I purposely left the card with no sentiment. I am either going to use this as a congratulations on your new home or a thinking of you for someone who loves plants.

Hanging Plants

Nested Scallop Rectangle Set
The one I have is currently out of stock.
This is a great alternative.

Well, that about covers it for today. Be sure to come back real soon. You will want to keep up with my crafty adventures! Until the next time, have a wonderfully crafty day!

Holiday French Horn

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have 2 new releases in the online store. The Christmas 2023 release is available and currently at 30% off individual dies. The Black Friday In The Garden release is also available at 30% off individual dies.

For today's card, I am featuring the new Holiday French Horn die. I don't know about you but I am still making my Christmas cards. I have about 10 more to make and then I need to get them addressed and mailed. It's crunch time for me.

So, let's get started with some details of how I created this card.

Design Steps:

I started my cad this week with the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #977. We were to use berry burst, old olive and crumb cake (Kraft) for our color trio. Optional was to add gold.
berry burst, old olive, crumb cake

I decided to use berry burst cardstock for the card base. I just bought this gold vellum  designer paper that had all Christmas words in gold. I layered it with a brushed gold cardstock. For some reason my camera picked up a yellow tone.
Berry Burst Card Base: 4 1/2" x 5 3/4"
Gold Layering Panel: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Gold Vellum: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
I cut the horn in gold mirror cardstock, and the berries & bow in berry burst cardstock and the greenery in old olive cardstock. I attached these layers with double sided tape and clear drying glue.
To finish off my card, I attached the image panel to the card base and scattered a few crumb cake enamel dots to get that color on my card. I decided not to add a sentiment to the card front. I thought the Christmas words were sufficient.
That's it for me for this post. See you next Saturday!
