You Are My Honey

Hello! This is Sukie and today I'm sharing this adorable card for my design team post. My card was created with the Busy Bee die from the new release of Spring dies which are currently on sale.

This card was inspired by a selection of fun papers in my stash.  Once I selected my papers I went with a sweet card which can be used for Valentine's Day or as an anniversary card.

The Busy Bee die was used for the 2 bees and then I went with a few of the basic dies (Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle, Nested Stitched Scallop Circle and Stitched Circle) for my card background.

In preparation of my card pieces, I stamped the sentiment inside the circle.  I also hand cut a little flag to use as an embellishment on my card.

I layered a solid black card base with the patterned paper background.  Next I added the 2 pieces cut with the Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle die set on top.

The white circle was nested inside the scallop circle and the set of circles were adhered on my card base.

I popped up the bees on some foam dots for added dimension.  The two bees surrounded the sentiment circle and the flag was added as a finishing touch.

Peeking Bunnies

Hi! Janja here with you. For today's post, I have a fun birthday card that is made fairly easy.

- CottageCutz dies: Spring Potted Bunnies, Sending Hugs Bear (flowers), Stitched Square Set
- blank card: 5.3 x 5.3" (13,5 x 13,5 cm), folded
- patterned paper: 5 x 5" (12,7 x 12,7 cm)
- white and colored cardstock
- colored ink pads
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive foam pads

I started making my card by cutting all the elements for it. To add shading to the bunnies, I used colored ink pads.

Then I cut frames out of white and light blue cardstock. I glued frames together and inserted light blue bases.

Next I trimmed a striped pattern paper and pasted it with double-sided adhesive tape to the front of the card.

I stamped a sentiment on a white tape. My card was completed by adding bunnies into the frames.

It's Anja here. My package of new dies is still on its way. But I still had two of the arctic dies I haven't used yet, so this was the perfect chance to try them out.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Baby Seals, Seal & Walrus Pals),
- die inks,
- white card stock (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- watercolor paper for background (14x14 cm),
- color sprays,
- black pen,
- white pen,
- heat gun,
- printer,
- scissors,
- paper glue. 

First I cut and colored the seals.

Next I sprayed the watercolor paper with two shades of blue spray. I dried the paper with the heat gun.

I colored the rest of the paper with light blue die ink.

Then I cut the piece of paper for the ground. I used blue ink to color around the edges.

Then I printed and trimmed the sentiment.

And in the end I just needed to glue all the pieces on the card base. And my card was done.

Easter Egg Hunt

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday day edition of the Blog. 

We have a new release of Spring dies, and they are in the online store and 25% off for a limited time. There are 27 new dies in the release and each one is cuter than the next. They will be perfect for your Easter and Spring card making. The DT will be showing more samples in the weeks to come. Today, I am featuring the new Easter Egg Hunt die and made my first Easter card for the upcoming season.

So let's get started on some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

As I have said so many times before, having a layout in mind at the start of my card is always a big boost for me. It jump starts my creative thought process. I love working with the sketches that are out there in the online world. That way I just choose the colors and designer paper and I am good to go.
I liked this week's sketch #787 from Splitcoaststampers.

I wanted some bright Spring colors for my card. I chose this grape designer paper from my collection and then paired colors that I thought would work well with it.

Grape Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Grape Gingham Designer Paper: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Heather Layer #2: 3 1/8" x 4 3/8"
Blue Layer #4: 2 7/8" x 4 1/8"

Next I cut the images from the die. I used various colored cardstock. You could always cut everything in white cardstock and use the coloring medium of your choice. I just prefer using the colored cardstock.

Now that my panels and images are cut. I am ready to start my card assembly. I started with the image panel. The images are attached with mini glue dots and Ranger multi medium matte. I like this adhesive because it dries clear.

My original idea was to use ribbon for panel 3 of the sketch. Instead I decided to cut a 1" strip of the lemon-lime cardstock and emboss it. This way the image panel would lay flat on top of it. My cards are always a work in progress.

I attached the image panel to the designer panel layer using double sided tape. For the bunny, I used dimensional adhesive. At this point I wasn't going to use the other bunny. But that changed as well.

To finish off my card I attached the grape card base. I used lemon-lime sequins for element 5 of the sketch. I thought it just kept with the whimsical card appeal. In the upper right corner I used some grape enamel dots. This is the point that I decided to go with the gray bunny. I attached him with dimensional adhesive and my card is complete.

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today with a Valentine using the new Spring dies.  These dies are adorable and very versatile (and on sale right now!)  I made this card for my oldest daughter.  She loves puns, so I know she'll love this.

To start I cut all the pieces in various colors using the Spring Lamb & Chick and the Hello Spring Bloom dies.  The lamb is cut from vanilla cardstock to contrast a little with the white panel.

Then I assembled the pieces.  I use a silicone mat when gluing so my pieces don't stick to the surface.

For the base I cut a panel 4.25 x 5.5 inches from patterned paper.

Very often when I know I will be layering other panels on top of a patterned paper that I like, I cut a rectangle from the center of my panel.  This gives me a panel to use elsewhere and saves my paper!  It's not like I'm a paper hoarder (LOL), but I will admit to being afraid of running out of retired paper that I love.  This is one way to maximize its use.

I used the largest of the Nested Stitched Scalloped Rectangles to cut a white panel and stamped the sentiment in the lower left.

I centered that panel on my patterned paper and added the lamb and flowers.  My striped paper was dotted on the other side and I decided that I liked that better with the fluffy lamb and scallops.  To finish the card I adhered everything to an A2 top folding card base.
