Knight and Dragon

Hi, Janja is here with you.
Above the dragons and knights, boys are always excited. I made two cards for all the little boys who dream that they are brave knights who overcome the dragon.
I used dies from the new release - Magical Fantasy.

- CottageCutz dies: Knight, Royal Horse, Magic Dragon, Fairytale Castle, Rainbow With CloudsRetro Alphabet
- white card base: 4.25 x 5.5" (10,8 x 14 cm), folded
- white cardstock: 4 x 5,2" (10,2 x 13,2 cm)
- scrapbooking glitter paper
- colored cardstock
- colored ink pads
- embossing folder
- glue, double side adhesive tape, self adhesive foam pads

For the first card, cut out the knight and horse. Then darken all the pieces with colored ink pads along the edges and fasten them together.

For the brick wall use embossing folder and distress ink - Iced spruce.

The first letter of the boy's name is cut out of blue and silver scrapbooking glitter paper.

Completed card.

Repeat the process on the second card and cut out the central motive first.
Cut the hill with scissors.

I used an oval brush and a plastic stencil for the cloudy background. Very simple and the result is flawless.

Now we have everything ready. We finish the card as shown.

Have a nice day.
Janja

Happy Easter!

Hi!

It's Anja here. Today is Easter Sunday. I'm spending it with my family, eating a lot of food and having a good time.
I made the last Easter card for this season for today's post. I combined different dies and made a bunny, picking daffodils.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Spring Showers Bunny, Buster w/Spring Daffodil, Egg Painting Bunny),
 - Distress Inks (Wild Honey, Fired Brick, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive, Spiced Marmalade, Spun Sugar, Pumice Stone, Black Soot),
- white card base (21x10 cm),
- patterned paper for die cuts and background (20,7x9,7 cm),
- white cards stock for die cuts and background (19,7x8,7 cm),
- black pen,
- white pen,
- paper glue.

First I cut the eggs and bunny's clothes out of patterned paper. I used Distress Inks to color around the edges.

Next I cut the bunny and all the daffodils and colored it.

The I cut the background paper.

Then I arranged all the pieces and glued it on the card base. I colored the sky around the bunny and daffodils.

And my card was done.

I wish you all a Happy Easter Sunday. I hope you get to spend it with people you love and good food.

See you again next week.

Anja Z.

DT Samples w/Spring & Fantasy Dies (Day 4)

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling cards from our Spring and also our new Magical Fantasy release.
There are 27 new designs in the Magical Fantasy release. And for a limited time the individual dies are on sale at 25% off. We want to give your some ideas for your own card making. So let's get started with our samples for today.

Card 1: This is a card that I (Mary Marsh) created using the beautiful new Unicorn Floral die. I thought this would make a great feminine graduation card since the grad will be going on a new life adventure. To create the circular wreath look I used one of our circle dies and drew a pencil line. Then I started building my wreath starting with the unicorn and worked my way around. The coloring on our packaging is so beautiful that I used similar colors. A simple change of sentiment and this could be a birthday, anniversary or even a get well card.

Card 2:  Our next sample is from Anja Zurga. She also created a floral card using the Spring Teacup Bouquet. How perfect would this be for Mother's Day. What Mom doesn't like to get flowers? Or do you have a friend who loves to garden and has flower beds that are the envy of the neighborhood? Make her a card like this to let her know you are thinking of her. So many occasions and possibilities with this die.
Card 3: Our next sample is from Pam MacKay. She used the Sweet Unicorns die to create a beautiful and whimsical birthday card. Since Unicorns are adorable and very magical, the special little one in your life will love it. The background was created with distress oxide inks and the use of shimmer paper on the unicorn manes added just the right touch of sparkle.  The sentiment carries through the magical appeal of her card.
Card 4:  Our last sample for today is from Janja Albreht. She used the Peeking Egg Bunny and Spring Potted Bunnies dies to create this super cute and colorful Easter card. Don't you just love these precious little bunnies and look at that little bunny behind. The eye catching  Easter Phrase is using an older die -Retro Alphabet.
Well that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas for creative ways to use the new dies over the past 4 days. If you haven't seen the other cards check here, here and here. Happy Easter everyone!

DT Samples w/Spring & Magical Fantasy Dies (Day 3)

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling cards from our Spring and also our new Magical Fantasy release.

There are 27 new designs in the Magical Fantasy release. And for a limited time the individual dies are on sale at 25% off. We want to give your some ideas for your own card making. So let's get started with our samples for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She created a card in a box using the new Princess Dress Up, Sweet Unicorns and Magical Unicorn Dreams dies. A card-in-a-box card is a wonderful way to give the recipient an extra "gift" that can be displayed long after the birthday is over.
She also used some older dies  - Spring Window, Spring Grass, Easter Bunny and Chicks. Jean said working with the Princess Dress Up dies reminded her of playing with paper dolls only better. So much fun choosing the dress and hairstyle for the princess.  This card would be perfect for any little (or big) girl who loves unicorns and all things fairytale.
Card 2:  The next sample is from Sukie Dhillon. She used the super cute Frog Prince die to create a creative special occasion card. She used doily dies as a backdrop for her "prince" and surrounded with a few sprigs of greenery and coordinating flowers.  The happy couple who receive this card are sure to live happily ever after.
Card 3: The next sample is one that I (Mary Marsh) created. I used the new Unicorn Cupcake  + Fairytale Birthday dies and designed a whimsical birthday card. A card like this along with a Unicorn stuffed animal would be an ideal birthday gift for any little girl. It would definitely bring a happy smile as she opened it.

Card 4:  Our last sample for today is from Anja Zurga. She also created a card with a cupcake using the Spring Lamb Cupcake die. The distress ink and white paint splatters are a beautiful backdrop for the sweet little lamb. You could use this card for a variety of occasions- Easter, Birthday, Thank you or even a thinking of you. Thinking out of the box gives you more use of your seasonal dies.
Well that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas for creative ways to use the new dies. Stop by the Blog again tomorrow for our final day of DT samples.

DT Samples w/Spring & Magical Fantasy Release dies (Day 2)

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from our Spring release and also our new Magical Fantasy release.

There are 27 new designs in the Magical Fantasy release. And for a limited time the individual dies are on sale at 25% off. We want to give your some ideas for your own card making. So let's get started with our samples for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is Pam MacKay. Her whimsical card is featuring the new Magic Dragon die. The background sky is created with distress oxide inks to give the dragons a perfect flying spot. This card of encouragement would be a great one for a young boy. Maybe they are starting a new sport or even trying out for a school play.  It would be a big boost in their confidence to know they are being supported. And the sentiment is so fitting.
Card 2:  Our next sample is from Anja Zurga. She also created a card of encouragement and her lovely card is featuring the Spring Teapot and Cups die. These beautifully detailed dies are ideal for a friend who is a tea lover. The longer length of the card makes it just right to show off the tea images as well as the patterned paper.
Card 3: Our last sample for today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the oh so precious Princess Cake + The Fairytale Birthday dies to create a sweet birthday card for a young girl. And what could be better than a princess cake, to celebrate a birthday of a little princess. Any little girl would love to get this card. Her card is so bright and cheerful with a great choice in designer paper and then she matched the cake colors to the paper.
Well that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas for a way to use the dies. Stop by the Blog again tomorrow for more team samples.
