Candle Christmas Slimline Card

Happy Tuesday crafty friends!
I hope your day and week are going well. Today I am sharing a pretty in pink Slimline Christmas card I created with some of the new beautiful dies from Cottage Cutz. Here is what I created.

I created a slimline card. It is a top folding card with a white cardstock base.

I started by cutting out my pieces in white cardstock. I then began to color them with my various markers.

I then cut out my mats. I decided to used the scallop stitched slimline dies in two sizes. I also cut out some corresponding mats using some patterned paper and some kraft cardstock. I then went ahead and assembled them and used some foam tape to give them some lift.

After coloring my base leaves from the Fall branch die, I adhered them to the base of the top of my mat base. The fall branch die is part of the new fall release from CottageCutz.com.

Here is a side view of my completed card. After I assembled all the various pieces. I like to give them the feeling of dimension by layering them. I also glue the bases of the pieces but leave the tops and sides free so that I can curl, lift and shape the pieces.

Here's a closer look at the candle. i know it is really hard to tell in the photo but I used some glossy accents on the top, the drip and the flame. This gives it a nice shiny finish.

Here is another close up of the candle. You can see, after I colored it pink, I used some fine glitter to cover it. I love the sparkle of glitter and Christmas cards are the perfect time to pull out all the stops and glitter and glitz up your projects!

Here is one last look at my finished card. I do love using pink in just about everything I do, including any holiday or seasons...lol!

Sweet Home Slimline Card

Hi Cottage Cutz fans!  It's Jeanne today with a fun card created using the new Slimline dies.  These dies are perfect for setting the scene!  There are nine different designs in the Slimline release and right now they are 25% in the online store.

To begin my scene I cut five rectangles using the Nested Stitched Rectangles and Scalloped Stitched Rectangle dies.

I then used one of the Hillside dies to cut two hills from the green cardstock.  By doing this I have a nice stitched edge on the bottom and sides of my grass area.

I made a stencil using one of the Cloud dies and inked clouds on the white rectangle.

When assembled these set the perfect scene for my house.

Using the Spring Bloom Cottage, I cut the house and colored it with a combination of Copic markers and Distress Oxide inks.  I tucked it in between the hillsides.
Next I cut three layers of my sentiment using the Home Sweet Home Phrase die.  These are stacked together for dimension and glued to the card front.
Finally I added a few flower sequins for a little bit of sparkle.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today.  Please browse the blog for more inspiration on using the new Slimline release!  They really are a great staple for your card making stash and they are are sale right now!

Friends are Like Sunshine

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends!

It is Pam creating with you today!

We have a new release of Slimline dies and they are just a great addition to any card makers collection.  There are 9 designs and everyone of them can be used on ever single kind of card I can think of!!

Today,  I am using the Windows Slimline and the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline with a variety of additional dies.

Design Steps:
1.  Base card is a white slimline, using the largest Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die cut blue card stock,  use the Windows Slimline die and cut white card stock
2.  Use the Bird with Bluebells cut out the leaves and the birds in green, blue, light blue, and purple.  Use the Rooster and Chick die and cut out the sun in yellow and light yellow.  Using Garden Accessories cut the white fence. Use Spring Meadow for the green grass and purple flowers
3.  Assemble the birds and sun using a fine tip glue
4.  Glue the blue scalloped rectangle to the white base card.  Glue down the Window frame and then quickly tuck in the grass, fence and branches.  Add the sun to the top right corner of the card
5.  As I was working on the card I decided that I needed some butterflies so I used the Spring Meadow die again and yellow paper to create the butterflies.  I colored the butterflies bodies with a black Sukura Jelly Roll Pen.  I also used this pen on the eyes along with a white one
6.  Pop up the birds on the branches and stamp your sentiment.  I felt like the bottom of the card needed something more so I used the Mouse with Flower Cart die.  I cut the mouse out of gray card stock assembled him and then tucked him behind the fence.  Add your flowers onto the grass and your little yellow butterflies and your card is complete
