Friends are Like Sunshine

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends!

It is Pam creating with you today!

We have a new release of Slimline dies and they are just a great addition to any card makers collection.  There are 9 designs and everyone of them can be used on ever single kind of card I can think of!!

Today,  I am using the Windows Slimline and the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline with a variety of additional dies.

Design Steps:
1.  Base card is a white slimline, using the largest Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die cut blue card stock,  use the Windows Slimline die and cut white card stock
2.  Use the Bird with Bluebells cut out the leaves and the birds in green, blue, light blue, and purple.  Use the Rooster and Chick die and cut out the sun in yellow and light yellow.  Using Garden Accessories cut the white fence. Use Spring Meadow for the green grass and purple flowers
3.  Assemble the birds and sun using a fine tip glue
4.  Glue the blue scalloped rectangle to the white base card.  Glue down the Window frame and then quickly tuck in the grass, fence and branches.  Add the sun to the top right corner of the card
5.  As I was working on the card I decided that I needed some butterflies so I used the Spring Meadow die again and yellow paper to create the butterflies.  I colored the butterflies bodies with a black Sukura Jelly Roll Pen.  I also used this pen on the eyes along with a white one
6.  Pop up the birds on the branches and stamp your sentiment.  I felt like the bottom of the card needed something more so I used the Mouse with Flower Cart die.  I cut the mouse out of gray card stock assembled him and then tucked him behind the fence.  Add your flowers onto the grass and your little yellow butterflies and your card is complete

A Very Happy Birthday to You!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I have a sweet card to share. I'm showcasing several of the newly released Slimline dies which are currently on sale.

The die cuts for my card are from the: Windows Slimline, Clouds Slimline, Grass Slimline, Bunny Gnome 1, Bunny Gnome 2, and Bunny Gnome 3 die sets.  Even though the gnomes are an Easter die cut, simply eliminating their bunny ears makes them perfect for this birthday card.  All of the pieces were cut from white card stock and shaded with Oxide Inks for a soft appearance.

To create my card, I adhered the grass inside the window and trimmed off the ends a bit, ensuring a perfect fit.

Next, I affixed the clouds along the top edge of the window with the clouds peeking through. The slimline window was then adhered onto a white card base.
Each of the gnomes were nestled inside their own windows, making sure there was enough space for the birthday sentiment tag.
Here are the die sets used on my card, available in the store:

Father's Day Gnome Sleeping in Hammock

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Monday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. Your slimline cardmaking is going to get a lot easier. We have 9 Slimline designs and they are on sale at a great price. You can get the entire bundle for under a $100 or each individual die is 25% off.

These are wonderful, basic dies that should be a part of every card maker's collection especially if you are liking the new slimline style.

Today for your viewing pleasuring I am using the Nested Stitched Rectangles Slimline, the Clouds Slimline and the Grass Slimline dies. I paired this with the Gnome Sleeping in Hammock die to create a Father's Day card.

My card colors are from this week's color challenge #839 on Splitcoaststampers. We were to use granny apple green, daffodil delight, melon mambo and bermuda bay as our color combination. These colors worked out great for my sleepy little gnome.

For this card I am using several of the new slimline dies. The background designer paper is cut with the largest Nested Stitched Rectangle Slimline. And the image panel is cut with the 2nd largest die from the same set.

To create my outdoor scene, I used the Cloud and Grass Slimline dies. The gnome and flowers were cut from cardstock in the challenge colors. I stamped my Father's Day sentiment to complete my card.

See you on Saturday!

Spring Showers

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a Spring card for you today.

For this project I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Spring Showers Buddies),

- Distress inks,

- white card base (15x15 cm),

- blue card stock for background (14,5x14,5 cm; 12,5x12,5 cm),

- patterned paper for background (13,5x13,5 cm),

- green card stock for background,

- water color paper for background (12x12 cm),

- white card stock for die cuts,

- black pen,

- white pen,

- plastic stencil (clouds),

- white acrylic paint,

- baby wipes,

- heat gun,

- water spritzer,

- Glossy Accents,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the creatures.

Next I started on the background. I used watercolor paper and smooching technique. I dried the paper with the heat gun.

Then I did the clouds using a plastic stencil. I used white acrylic paint and baby wipes for coloring.

Then I trimmed all the background papers.

Last I arranged all the background papers and cuts on the card base and added rain drops using Glossy Accents.

And my card was done.

And that's all from me for today. Don't forget to stop by on The Scrapping Cottage online store and check out the Anniversary Sale

Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Mom's Slimline Lift Flap Card

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. Your slimline cardmaking is going to get a lot easier. We have 9 Slimline designs and they are on sale at a great price. You can get the entire bundle for under a $100 or each individual die is 25% off.

And we are also having a sale to celebrate 19 years in business. You can save up to 60% on select dies. The sale runs through April 12. So check out the online store now for the best selections.

Today for your viewing pleasure, I created a Mother's Day card.  I am featuring the new Lift Flaps Stitched Rectangle Slimline die. It is a 5 piece die set.

Since we are having a sale on most dies, I thought I would select one to use with the Lifts Flaps die.  I used the Flowers for Mom die from an older Mother's Day release. And, and it's currently on sale for 40% off.

So let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I started off by cutting my light purple cardstock with the double stitched rectangle die that is included in this set. I use a Big Shot machine and you do need the extended platform for the slimline dies.
Next, I laid the lift flaps die on the rectangle I just cut, Secured it with tape and ran it back through the Big Shot.
I didn't want the flaps to be empty so I decided to stencil some flowers on the 2 end flaps. This stencil was so small and even though I covered the edges, I did manage to get a bit of the violet ink in the corner. Not to worry because  I was going to use enamel dots, and it will cover it.

Now I am ready to cut the bouquets of flowers that will go under the flap. I used different colors of cardstock for the vases, teapot, flowers and leaves.

I adhered the vases under the flaps with a combo of double sided tape and Ranger multi medium matte adhesive.
I adhered the image panel to a white card base. Finished base size is 8" x  3". I cut my card stock at 8" x 6" and then scored at the 3" mark.

To finish off my card I added the "Mom" phrase cut in a grape cardstock. It's from the 2018 Mom w/heart die. I scattered a couple of grape hearts and a few enamel dots.

That's it for me for this post. I will be back on Monday with another card using these new Slimline basic dies.
