There is something for everyone to help you create birthday, anniversary, thinking of you, graduation, get well and thank you cards. Let your creativity and imagination run wild with these dies.

And, you can pick these new dies up at a great bundle price of only $89.95. But don't wait because the bundle price only lasts for the next 10 days. The sale will end on December 4th.

The DT has created some really cute cards for your inspiration and we have been featuring them over the last couple of days. If you missed those posts check them out here, here and here. Now, let's get started with our cards for today.

Card 1: The first card today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the new Safari Peekers die. I thought this group of animals would be perfect to use a sentiment that gives birthday greetings from a group. It's going to my little granddaughter who has a bunch of stuffies here at my house. They will be sending her a birthday card in December.
To complement the Safari theme, I chose a background paper with various shades of greenery that looks like a jungle. Since the paper is a little busy, I framed it and then popped up the images to add dimension and the appearance of the designer paper to be off in the background.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Anja Zurga. We are doing a little change up and featuring a Christmas card from our Christmas Part 2 release. She used the new Reindeer w/Tree die to create a really cute card. The reindeer looks like he is ready to bring on the merry. Her backgrounds are always amazing and for this one she used 2 distress ink shades and water and the smooshing technique. It gives the effect of a snowy swirly background.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope we have given you some creative ideas for different ways to use these new dies. Stop back again on Monday for another  sample from the Safari release. Don't forget to check out the online store for the big Black Friday sale with savings of up to 85% on selected dies.

Card 1: Our first sample for today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She created a fun fold stand up card and using the new Safari Adventure Gang Who's watching who! This adorable gang is having a wild time on their people watching safari! Notice the binoculars and camera the animals are holding!

The woven designer paper and stenciled sky are a perfect fit for these safari friends. The "Go Wild" phrase is from the new Safari Phrases die. This would make for a great way to say "Happy Birthday", you only need to add your message and signature!
Here is a photo of her card closed.
Card 2: Our next sample is from Anja Zurga. We are doing a little change up and featuring a Christmas card from our Christmas Part 3 release and it's on sale as well. She used the Snow Babies die to create this sweet card. This pair is so precious. Her beautiful nighttime sky was done with distress oxide inks and flicks of white paint to give the illusion of snow. The sentiment is heat embossed to make it stand out.

Card 3:  Our last sample for today is from Sukie Dhillon. She used the Safari Monkey die to create a card of encouragement. Couldn't we all use a card like this one during these trying times? The vine she added all around the oval frame just adds to the fun vibe the monkey is creating.  The finishing touch is the sentiment which is a fun play on words.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some creative ideas for different ways to use these new Safari dies. We will be back on Sunday with more samples from this release. Check out the online store for the big Black Friday sale with savings of up to 85% on selected dies.

Card 1:  Our first sample for today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the new Safari Lion die that  features the king of the beasts and made a wonderful masculine card. The designer paper, burlap and wood leaf embellishments just add to the masculine vibe.
Whether he's your "mane" man, king of your heart or your "pride" & joy, this die ensures a roaring good card! So think Birthday, Valentine's Day, Anniversary or just a card to say I love you.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Pam MacKay. She is featuring the new Safari Giraffe on her card front.  She created a super cute safari themed birthday card for her young niece and nephew who love taking trips to the zoo. The giraffe family looks so cute nestled in the circles surrounded by leaves from the new Safari Adventure Gang die. And, the leaf designer background paper adds to the  jungle theme so perfectly. The birthday tag topper is an older one from CottageCutz - Party Hat Tag Topper. You can pick this up on a 70% off sale right now
She carried the giraffe theme through to the card inside as well. And then featured the new Safari Phrases die with the "go wild" sentiment.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit on this Thanksgiving Day 2020. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you this special edition of the Blog.

It's a bit of a different celebration for most of us this year with the pandemic. But it's still a day that was set aside by President Lincoln as a national holiday and celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November. Hope your celebration will be filled with thanks.

My card today is one that I made using the Pilgrim & Indian Owls die. I sent this out to a family that hold a special place in my heart. They have 2 little boys who loved the owls dressed as a Pilgrim and Indian.

I thought the plaid paper had the perfect colors for a Fall themed Holiday card. I stamped my Thanksgiving greeting on the inside of my card.

That's my card for today. See you again tomorrow where we will pick up with the group post featuring the new Safari release. Happy Thanksgiving!

Black Friday Release Samples

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit this Wednesday on the day before Thanksgiving here in the USA.

We have a brand new Black Friday Safari release available in the online store. There are 16 new designs in this release.

The DT has created some really cute cards for your inspiration and we will be featuring them over the next several days. So let's get started with our cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample for today is from Sukie Dhillon. She used the new Safari Cruiser w/Banner & Savanna dies and created a birthday card. Her punny sentiment is the perfect play on words and helps to accentuate the "wild theme" of the card.
The fluffy clouds, inked card base and the acacia tree provides the perfect backdrop for an adventure on the Savanna. Love how the safari banner, that is part of this die, completes this scene by floating amongst the clouds.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Pam MacKay. She used the new Safari Watering Hole die and created an anniversary card, but it could be used for multiple occasions. It would work as a Valentine card or a birthday card for that special someone.
The map designer paper carries through the African Savanna theme really well. The framing of the image draws your eye right to the animals gathered around the watering hole. She used a blending brush to create the sky and grass. It's a perfect look for this idyllic scene.

Well that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas for different way to use these new Safari dies. We will be back on Friday with more samples from this release. Check out the online store for the big Black Friday sale with savings of up to 85% on selected dies.

Gingerbread Baker Pocket Card

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Monday edition of the Blog.

Our Christmas dies are in the online store. And, you can still pick them up on a 25% sale. We have Christmas Part 1 (22 new designs), Christmas Part 2 (21 new designs) and Christmas Part 3 (11 new designs).

Today, I have for your viewing pleasure a card featuring the new Gingerbread Baker die from the Christmas Part 1 release.

I created this card using the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #818. Our own Jeanne was the hostess and she chose some colors that were just about perfect for this gingerbread die. And, the red works well for a Christmas card.

I decided to create a pocket card. It's such a good technique if you want to include a tag in your card. I made one on this post and give all the details on how to create it. And, if you like to watch one being made, you can check out this video on Splitcoaststampers.

I created the card front first using designer paper in the real red color. On the pocket flap, I added vanilla and red ribbon. The little cookie embellishments are from the Sweet as a Christmas Cookie die- Christmas Part 3. Added the sentiment using the Merry Christmas Love die from the Christmas Part 3 release.

On the inside tag, I cut the gingerbread baker in the challenge colors. For this challenge you are allowed other neutrals and I used a medium brown for the baker itself. I attached some curly red ribbon and tied it with some silver cording. Scattered a few red glitter enamel dots.

Here is a photo showing the tag placed inside the pocket.

Well, that's it for me for this post. I hope I have given you another idea for a way to use this new die. See you again on Saturday!

Winter Forest

Hi!

It's Anja here. Today I have a Winter scene for you. This time I used water color markers instead of inks and below is my final result.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Winter Forest, Oval Set),

- Distress Oxides,

- water color markers,

- craft card base (15x15 cm),

- water color paper for die cuts and background (13x13 cm),

- dark blue card stock for background (13,4x13,4 cm),

- white paint,

- white pigment ink,

- black pigment ink,

- water spritzer,

- sentiment stamp,

- acrylic block,

- water color brush,

- brush,

- heat gun,

- paper glue.

First I colored the silhouette. I left it together with the negative so it was easier to color.

Next I added "snow" to the trees using white paint and a brush.

Then I started on the background. I trimmed 13x13 cm square out of the water color paper. I used the biggest oval die from the set and cut the oval out in the upper middle of the paper. I colored the paper with a mix of Distress Oxides. Then spritzed it with water, dried it and sprinkled it with white paint. Dried it again and added white ink to the borders of the oval.

Then I trimmed the blue cardstock and adhered it to the card base together with the white background. I put the colored oval back in the cut. I added the sentiment below the oval.

Last I added the silhouette and my card was done.

This is all from me for today. Have a nice week and see you again next Sunday.

Anja Z.
