Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends!

Hello it is Pam sharing with you today.  I am using one of the new release wedding dies that has a touch of fun to it!  Wooo.. doesn't love little owls?  I know they sure make a sweet card!

Designer Steps:

1.  Start by cutting out all the pieces using the Cottage Cutz Tandem Bike die. The card stock colors used were blue, black, yellow, brown, white, and green.   Shade your pieces and assemble

 2.  To make the background use the largest of the Cottage Cutz Nested Wacky Stitched Rectangle set for the white background.  Then use the largest of the Cottage Cutz Nested Wackey Stitched Oval set for the hills.

 3.  Stencil in the clouds and add a black strip for the road.  Add a dashed white line down the center of the road

4.  Use an A2 white card base and a slightly smaller piece of blue then a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of dotted DP. Mount the completed scene to the card front and add your sentiment

More Wedding Doves

Lois here with another Monday card.  A wedding is such a wonderful occasion for which to make a card.  You can go elegant or you can go fun.  I think my card today is somewhere in between the two.  CottageCutz has recently released two series of dies, both of which contributed to my card today.  There is a wedding set and a series of nested shapes.  I used one die from each set along with some wedding paper that I had in my stash.

To begin I cut a piece of heavyweight white cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", one piece of patterned paper 4" x 5 1/4" and another piece of patterned paper 3 3/4" x 2 3/4".

Then I cut the die-cuts from pink, green, and shimmer white cardstock.

Using some Copic markers, I added some color to the doves and the small hearts.

I placed some large foam pop dots on the pink die-cut panel.

The wedding paper that I used came in a pad which also included some pop-out die-cut pieces.  I found one that I liked and added the two small pink hearts to it.

I applied some liquid glue to the back of the branch . . .

. . . and some foam pop dots to the backs of the doves.

And then  I constructed my card.

Engagement Party Invitation

It's Anja here. I finally got my hands on the new wedding and nested dies. For my first card I made a clean engagement party invitation with a matching envelope. This can easily be turned into a wedding invitation or even a wedding card.

This is what I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle Set, Rose With Wedding Rings, Pair of Doves),
- Distress Inks (Antique Linen, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord)
- silver VersaColor pigment ink,
- white card stock for invitation base and die cuts,
- white paper for printing,
- violet card stock,
- black pen,
- Wink of Stella glitter brush pen,
- WRMK Envelope Punch,
- paper glue,
- adhesive foam pads.

And this is how I did it.

First I die cut the base for the invitation. I used the largest die from Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle Set and made it longer. I cut a rectangle from violet card stock that was a few millimeters smaller than the inside of the stitched rectangle.

This is how I prolonged the stitched rectangle. First I cut through only half of it.

Than I turned the paper around and put the die it the already cut lines. And again I only cut it to thee part that has not been already cut. You have to be careful with this so you don't cut to far because the die will leave a mark. 

 

Then I die cut all the other pieces and colored them with Distress Inks. I used Wink of Stella Marker to add a sparkle to the diamonds. 

For the envelope I used WRMK Envelope punch. It's so easy to make a matching envelope to go with your card. For my invitation I needed to cut a paper size 21x21 cm and started to score it at 7,9 cm. I also cut a smaller stitched rectangle that would fit the name and the address.

I designed the invitation text and printed it on white 220 g paper. And then I just glued all the pieces together. I glued the doves with adhesive foam pads.

Mr & Mrs Wedding Card

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

It's wedding season here in my neck of the woods. It seems like every couple of years I get invited to several weddings and this is the year. Fortunately for me, we just had a release of 20 new wedding dies that fit perfectly for my card ideas.

So lets get started with some details on the card I am showcasing today.

Step 1: I start my cards each week in several different ways. Today, I started with my card colors. That made it easy because these are the ones the Bride has chosen for her wedding. I looked through my paper stash for colors that matched along with patterned paper. I chose a soft green, a rich espresso brown and peach as my accent colors. I am also using a peach ribbon. I assembled these parts of the card at this point.

Green Card Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"

Espresso Layering Panel: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"

Patterned Paper Panel: 5 1/4" x 4" 

Step 2: I decided to use the Mr & Mrs with Hearts and frame it with the Nested Stitched Doily dies. I assembled this part of my card and attached to the base panel. I used dimensional adhesive to attach it to card. It adds depth to your card. 

 

 

Step 3: I also wanted to finish the inside of my card. I don't usually do this with anything more than a sentiment. The exception is wedding cards.  I like to add other embellies to make it a little more special for the couple. So for this card I used the Rose with wedding rings, Love Phrase.and the  Nested Scallop Rectangle dies.

 

I adhered the images to the scallop panel. I really like the wedding rings that are part of the rose die. The hearts were leftover when I cut the Mr & Mrs phrase.

Attached the decorated panel to the card inside. The espresso is such a rich shade of brown and complements the green nicely. The bride chose some beautiful colors for her wedding.

I decided to add a bow to the card front. It just seemed a little more complete. I don't have to mail this card so no worries that my bow will get ruined. Well that completes my card for this week. I hope I have given you another idea on how to use these new wedding dies. See you next Saturday.
