Cardinals and birdhouse

Hi, Janja here!

Snow covered grass and bare trees do not offer much comfort to the birds, which are looking for food in our garden in the cold days. Birds will thank us if we hung on a tree a birdhouse with seeds in late autumn.

For the card we need:
- white card base: 5.3 x 5.3" (13,5 x 13,5 cm), folded
- kraft cardstock : 5 x 5" (12,7 x 12,7 cm)
- patterned paper: 4 x 4" (10,2 x 10,2 cm)
- white cardstock: 4.5 x 4.5" (11,5 x 11,5 cm)
- white and brown cardstock
- stencil-snow
- white texture paste
- snow marker
- painting knife
- Distress ink: Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany, Black Soot, Tumbled Glass, Broken China
- Distress marker: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Black Soot

With two largest dies from basic sets: circle and stitched circle, cut opening in white and kraft cardstock. I like the color of craft cardstock and how it gives a homely feel to the card.
Cut the cardinals and birdhouse from white cardstock with the die cardinals & birdhouse and shadow them with Distress inks.

On kraft cardstock place a stencil and apply a white texture paste over it.

While the snow is drying, cut a bow and tape. For a tape use the die stitched wide rectangle frame. Shadow and attach them to the snow-covered cardstock.

Cut out branches and fence from brown cardstock with the dies: winter branches and garden accessories.
Apply snow with a snow marker.

Assemble the card.

I would like to remind you on our challenge #5 - birthday card. You still have time to share your projects with us.

That's all for today. Thank you for stopping by.

HELLO !!!! Warm greetings from Anita!

It's Saturday and everyone waits for this after a week of busy hard work and routine chores. Saturday means a weekend with family and friends and relaxation. For me relaxation is crafting. And nowadays , I am just making a variety of Christmas cards. With so many Christmas theme craft goodies, one can create amazing projects. One such product is dies and CottageCutz has newly released some beautiful Christmas dies. You can check them out HERE

Today I will share with you a very  pretty project and believe me !! It's one of the most enjoyable project that I have made. You must try this as this super easy to make and one can do so much with type of card. This is Pop Up Diorama Card. Its is actually a 3D  dual window card to create layered scenes etc. In my card , I have created a winter snow scene with the CottageCutz Christmas dies.

  Instructions

Cut two pieces of card stock ( blue and white A-B) measuring 7.5 inches by 7.5 inches.
Cut one piece of white card stock-C  7 inches by 7 inches
Score card stock A and B at 0.5 inch, 1 inch, 6.5 inches and 7 inches
Score card stock C at 0.5 inch and 6.5 inches.

Position CottageCutz Stitched Rectangle die on the A piece-blue card stock in the centre. Cut out the die.

Use the CottageCutz Stitched Rectanlge die the next smaller one and position on middle layer C

Place A on C to see the exact position. The inner window will be smaller than the outer window.

After cutting out the window, place card stock in Misti tool and stamp out snow trees with Distress inks-Chipped Sapphire and Mowed Lawn.

Colour the CottageCutz die cuts ( list is below) with Zig Markers. Apply distress clear rock candy and adhere in layers on the middle layer. Keep the front blue layer on top to see the exact position of die cuts.

Distress the Top blue layer with Evergreen Bough and Chipped Sapphire distress ink. Stamp snow flakes with Chipped Sapphire and add glitter.

Adhere the three layers together with the first score line of all three coinciding with each other.
Add the sentiment on CottageCutz Stitched Oval die. Adhere on top.

Detailed view of the layers. Cut some layers in white card stock. Apply Glitter and add to the base as shown. Add more die cuts as shown.
