S'more Fun

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

IT'S NEW RELEASE TIME! Our annual Black Friday release is in the store, and you can pick it up at a great bundle price of only $49.95 or the individual dies at a 30% savings. There are 14 ever so cute new designs that can be used year round for your cardmaking.

We are also having a Black Friday blowout sale with savings of up to 85% on selected dies. So shop early for the best selections. The sale ends Friday,  December 3.

Today for your viewing pleasure, I have a design featuring several of the Campin' Out dies. I made a birthday card for the 4 year old next door. We were over a couple of months ago sitting around their firepit and making s'mores. Maddie just loved us being there and talked non-stop for 3 hours. So I thought a card with a fire and marshmallows would be a cute card for her.

Design Steps:

I decided to make a nighttime card in the slimline design. I found some perfect designer paper for the background. It already had the night sky and stars on it. I cut it from the largest Nested Stitched Rectangles Slimline die. The card base is white and measures the same size as the designer paper.

white card base: 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"
designer paper: 3 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Next, I cut the images. I used the Campin' Out FoxCampin' Out Hedgehog and Mouse and the Campin' Out Sun & Moon.

For the next step, I used the Hills Slimline die to cut a slope for the ground. I stamped the sentiment in chocolate chip ink.
Now that all the elements are prepared, I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the slope with double sided tape and the images with dimensional adhesive.
I thought the card looked like it needed something else so I cut a tree from the Campin' Out Trees die. Took some white acrylic paint and splattered it around the card, added a few more yellow stars and some sparkle with clear wink of stella.
And, that's my sample for this week. I hope I have given you an idea for another way to use these new dies. See you next Saturday!

Camping Friends

Good morning Cottagecutz fans. I hope you have had or are having a wonderful Thanksgiving. We don’t celebrate it in the UK but I pass all my blessings on to you

So it’s Wendy with the Black Friday blog and what an incredible array of new dies we have, each cuter than the last if that is possible. So I’m going to start my tutorial just giving you the basics of how the base card was put together.

Firstly I took a piece of Bazzill Bling Shimmer cardstock. I layered approx. half the card with it

Next I cut out the ‘Grass Slimline’ twice so that I could layer them on top of each other, I have attached the bottom and sides of the hills with 1mm foam pads so that I could slot other elements in them. I also cut out the mountains 3 times with the icy caps because I am making a slimline card and needed all 3

I then layered these elements onto the base card before cutting out the remainder of items to populate my card. The mountains were layered behind the grass
The other elements I used on my card were as follows:
‘Campin Out Bear in Tent’
‘Campin Out Campfire’
’Campin out Sun’
‘Campin out Trees’
‘The mug from ‘Campin our Bear in Log’ - I found an old heart die from my Cottagecutz stash to put on the mugs which I though was cute
‘Campin Out Moose and Reindeer’

Here are some close ups for you. All elements were stuck down with 1mm foam pads to give a bit of dimension. I like the fact that they all look like they’ve just got up and are having morning cocoa :-)

To finish the card off I printed a sentiment and used a guillotine to cut it to size and here is your final card

I really hope you like the card and have as much fun with these dies as I did. I wish you a very happy weekend and hope you have plenty of time to craft. I shall see you on Tuesday for another blog post

Black Friday Release!!

 Hello Friends

A Very Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!  If all the festivities are over it is time to get to those Black Friday sales and ours has already started.  With this adorable new release called Campin Out.  It can be used for almost anything especially those hard to make masculine cards!  Just check out the Black Friday info below!

Today, I am using the Campin Out Fishing Raccoon and he is just so cute!  Plus I added the Campin Out Trees and the Sign from the Campin Out Campfire & Sign.  This is a birthday card for a friend who loves to fish!

Design Steps:

1.  Start by cutting out the pieces using the Campin Out Trees, Campin Out Fire & Sign and the Campin Out Fishing Raccoon.  I used green, dark brown, light blue, kraft, gray, black, white, light teal and rust card stock for my scene.  Assemble your raccoon and the trees with a fine tip glue
2.  Use a 6 x 4 1/4 white base, 5 3/4 x 4 piece of yellow, 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 piece of DP,  cut a piece of brown polka dot DP with the second from the largest Wacky Stitched Rectangle.  I used the Hill Slimline to create the brown hill and the waves in the lake
3.  Glue the yellow to the white base card, glue the DP to the yellow then add the retangle with the hills and the water
4.  Add the trees and the raccoon to your scene.  I glued them flat
5.  After the scene is complete stamp you sign and use pop dots to adhere to your card

An early Happy Thanksgiving to each of you.  I am so excited to share this slimline Christmas card over on the CottageCutz YouTube Channel featuring dies from the new "Campin Out" collection that's releasing as a Black Friday special.  The complete collection will be available in The Scrapping Cottage Store for $49.95. There are many other amazing products on sale with savings up to 85% off, so shop early to find the best selection.

As I mentioned, this slimline Christmas card features four of the new dies and I am sharing how I used pattern paper to add a Christmas vibe to dies that are not Christmas specific. Bonus, you can use these new dies all year long to create more amazing cards.

I will be announcing the winner of the "Peace On Earth" die that I was giving away in my last video.  I hope it was you. Please head over to watch my new video and if you missed the last giveaway, there is another opportunity in my new video to win one of the "Campin Out" dies.  Don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment to enter.  I look forward to seeing you over on the CottageCutz YouTube Channel!  Until next time, happy holidays....
