Believe Nativity

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.
My card today is from Part 2 of the 2018 Christmas release. There are 29 new designs in this release.

And, speaking of new releases Christmas Part 3 has just been released along with some new Halloween dies. You will find these in the online store at a 25% off sale. There is also an exclusive die that can only be purchased through the online store. Check out the sweet Dakota the Husky die

The DT will be showing samples soon with these new dies. Today though I am using the Believe Nativity die. So let's get started with some details on how I created this card.

Step 1:  I started my card this week with a card sketch. This one is from the Card Maps site. It was their January 2018 sketch and it's a square layout. My card measures 5 1/2" square.
Step 2: I had this starry patterned paper in my stash and I knew I was going to use it when I created a card with this Nativity die. So that determined my card colors of navy and white.
navy blue card base: 5 1/2" square
white layering panel: 5 1/4" square
navy patterned paper: 5" square
I cut the Believe Nativity in white cardstock. I decided to keep everything square on my card. So I used the largest die from the pierced wide square frame set for the rectangle element on this sketch.
For the flag banner element, I stamped part of a silent night sentiment. It was on one line but with the help of my MISTI and masking tape, I converted it to a 2 line sentiment.
Step 3: Now that all the card elements are cut and stamped it 's time to start card assembly. Affixed the navy patterned paper to the white cardstock layer panel, then the wide stitched square frame with double sided tape.
Secured the banner with dimensional adhesive. I moved the banner more to the right of the square frame in order to allow enough room so the image wouldn't cover the sentiment.
Next up is the image. I used a combination of glue dots and dimensional adhesive to secure it on the panel.
Step 4: To complete my card, the image panel was added to the navy blue cardstock base. I wanted to add a few sequins but there was no room on the banner so I placed them around the square frame. I like the little touch of bling.

Well, that's it for me for this week. I hope I have given you an idea for a way to use the Believe Nativity. This is a card that wouldn't be hard to create multiples of for Christmas. See you next Saturday!

Cozy Bear

Happy Friday Cottage Cutz fans!  It's Jeanne today with a card that I hope makes you feel warm and cozy.  This little bear is adorable and I can easily see using him well beyond the holidays!  How cute would he be for Valentine's Day or for someone (like my daughter) who loves their lattes?
I started by cutting all the pieces from white card stock and coloring with Copic markers.  I like doing this because it gives an infinite variety of colors.
I then assembled the bear in the mug.
For the background I cut white card stock to an A2 panel (5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches).  I used some pearl ink and a stencil to make a subtle background of snowflakes.
Then I cut the panel down to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches.
I used a self adhesive sheet on the back of pewter card stock and cut the sentiment from the Coffee and Cocoa Warm Wishes die and the snowflakes from the Snowflakes Set.
I placed the snowflakes hanging off the edge and then use paper snips to trim them flush.
Finally, I glued the panel to a dark blue A2 card base.  I used foam dots to pop up the bear and added some sequins for a bit of bling.
This little bear is one of my favorites - I can see him without the hat and with a letter or heart in his hand - so cute!

Warm Wishes!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

It is Pam crafting with you today.  But before we get started I wanted to let you know we now have more new dies in the store.  Christmas Part 3 has arrive and some adorable Halloween dies as well.  Both of these sets are on sale for a limited time at 25% off.  So make sure you don't miss out on this great sale on new dies!!

I am using a die from the Christmas Part 2.  It can be used for a Christmas card, a thank you or even a winter birthday.

Design Steps:

 1.  Cut out the pieces in white card stock using the Coffee & Cocoa Warm Wishes die
2.  Use your favorite markers to color the pieces.  I used my copics
 3.  After you have colored the pieces assemble each cup.  Add glitter to the cups if you desire
 4.  Use an A2 white card base, cut a slightly smaller piece of red card stock and glue it to the base.  Cut a piece of snowflake DP slightly smaller then the red card stock.  Glue it to the red card stock
 5.  Using white card stock cut a doily using the Tea Time Doily die.  Glue it to the middle of the snowflake paper
6.  Pop up the three cups as shown on top of the doily
7.  Cut out warm wishes twice and glue them together.  Position them on the card as shown below and add glossy accents then glitter.  Your card is complete!

September Group Post Part 2

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from Part 2 of the 2018 Christmas release. There are 29 new designs in this release.

And, speaking of new releases Christmas Part 3 has just been released along with some new Halloween dies. You will find these in the online store at a 25% off sale. There is also an exclusive die that can only be purchased through the online store. Check out the sweet Dakota the Husky die.

The DT will be showing samples soon with these new dies. Today, we have a group post showing samples from the recently released Christmas Part 2 dies.

Card 1:  This first sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. Using the ever so cute Bake Shop die and pairing it with the Baking Gnomes die, she created a fabulous Christmas side step card. The Gnomes are busy stirring their batter and giving us an idea of what could be taking place inside this bake shop. How perfect would this card be for your baker friend or your child or grandchild?
Card 2:  The next sample is from Pam MacKay and she has also created a fancy fold card. Her technique is a Z Fold or Bridge card. This fold packs a lot of wow and it lays flat for mailing. She used the Holiday Pickup Truck die for her card.
This 2nd photo shows the bridge section of her card. She has created a wintry scene for her truck and placed it on a "road" that continues with the addition of the bridge. You can see the dimension it adds to her card with this extension piece.
Card 3: This next sample is from Janja Albreht. She used the cute Nordic Gnomes die to create these stunning Christmas tags and placed them on a background of beautiful designer paper. Wouldn't one of these look awesome on that special Christmas gift you are giving. The lamppost and bow are from the Christmas Mice die.
Card 4: Our last sample for today is another is from Janja Albreht. She used the loveable Peeker Snowmen die to create this charming Christmas card. Her snowy background was created with a stencil and 3D texture paste. She has her snowmen peeking over a big icicle for a creative touch.
That's our samples for today. Hope the team has given you some new ideas for using these dies.
