Let it Snow!

OK, I know many of you may still be working on finishing up your Halloween pictures, but I got some new Winter Cottage Cutz dies in the mail this week and I just couldn't wait to play!!

This is a card using one of the new Cottage Impressions Stamps. All I can say is WOW!!! So much fun!!! I do not consider myself much of a stamper, but these new Impressions could totally change me! I can have the Cottage Cutz shapes I love, now in a fun stamp format!

I used my copic markers to shade in this adorable snowman to match the colors in my patterned papers. I added a bit of bling with glitter cardstock for my snowflake and I pop-dotted the snowman shape to make him really stand out.

Thanks for stopping today! Have a great weekend and happy crafting!!

I AM Nuts!!

Good morning, and welcome to The Scrapping Cottage Blog!  Sorry I'm late getting this post up, but I've been fiddling with and tweaking this card for far too long, and I finally decided it's ready.  So the question is... Are you nuts?, and the answer is an emphatic "Yes, I AM!"  Nuts about Cottage Cutz dies, that is!  Isn't this Nutty Squirrel the cutest and craziest little fella you've ever seen?  I just love those eyes, and his buck teeth.  Too funny!!   You've just got to check out all the fabulous fall dies and fun things that Joanne has at The Scrapping Cottage.  There's so many possibilities and endless hours of fun to be had once you've got those dies in your crafty little hands!!
The sentiment for this was computer generated, and I cut all the die pieces out with white card stock, assembled them, then colored them with my Copics.  I mentioned that I fiddled with this card an awful lot, but I think I neglected to mention how much fun I had doing just that!  The tree is stamped with Early Espresso ink from Stampin' Up!, using the tree from the Haunted Pumpkin Accessories stamp set from Peachy Keen Stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Wishing you a beautiful and blessed weekend, and of course happy crafting!

Boo!

First, I apologize for the funky coloring in my scan - it happens when the lumpy parts stitch into the non-lumpy parts so I can't really do anything about that aside from not making lumpy projects, which is not going to happen. I love me some foam tape! LOL And now, on to this week's project.

This week I'm sharing a layout of my simple Halloween pumpkin. I like to do something different with my pumpkin every year, and this time, I decided to paint my pumpkin instead of carving it. I added black vinyl accents and a green wire to the stem, and there you have it. I love it.

I used the Cottage Cutz pumpkin trio and stamp set along with leaves and vine from the pumpkin patch die for my 3D embellishment.

Here I've used the scallop/dot edger and bling accents.

and for a little something extra, I used the bitsy little spider from the Cottage Cutz spooky fence to "hang" from the ribbon. I heat embossed him with clear powder to give him more texture and dimension after I added white to his eyes. He's barely visible in the photo of the whole layout, but he's there. :)

Have you started scrapping your Halloween pics yet? Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

What do you do when Halloween is over but you have some really cute Halloween dies you haven't gotten to play with yet?
You post them anyway....because even though Halloween is over scrapping that spooky night isn't. These cute little guys had me singing a certain song in my head. Can you think of what is was? Post a comment on what you think that song is and I'll pick a random winner and you will win a CottageCutz mini die of your choice.
Whether it's Halloween or Easter CottageCutz dies would be cute as little cupcake picks.
Just simply make your diecut and tape it to a toothpick and there you have it!
The Mummy is my favorite, I love the way the little face is peeking out of the wrapping.
He seems to say "I want my MUMMY"

Have fun scrapping your fun Halloween pictures and don't forget the CottageCutz dies!

Holiday Heplers

Santa does have helpers at the south pole, these little guys are from the Cottage Cutz Penguin Doll Die. I love these guys because you can do so much with them. The new Martha Stewart punches are out this week and I could not resist the Jumbo Present edger. I cut the edger cup and added a back color. I decided to have the Cottage Cuts Penguins getting the gifts ready for delivery and be little helpers. The card was embossed with the Sizzix large snowflake folder.

Trouble X 3

I first have to apologize, I became sick last week just before I was to post for the week and did not get this card posted. . .sooooooooooooo now it seems a bit late but. . you know you can't get ride of unwanted guest as fast as you like. These guys just seem to rattle around for the last week. Trouble x 3, this card was made with the Cottage Cutz Skeleton Die. This Die is so great, it only has 3 pieces, the head, the center of the body and the hip and legs. I first cut three coffins by hand to fit the guys, used an embossing folder that had a wood grain to give the boxes a texture. edged the boxes with Stickle and added them to the card at three levels using foam dots. Cut three skeletons and put them together in different poses. Its so easy to cut an arm off with your Ginsu knife and put it back together where you need it. . . you can have them dancing all over! The bats and Jack-o-lantern are from the Cottage Cutz Kittie & Tombstone Die set. I sponged the edge of the card with orange and brown ink, Tinted the skeletons with orange and added swirlly lines around the edges with a Micron pen.

Fall is in the air!

Good morning friends!

It is hard to believe that it is November 1st. Where does the time go? I hope you all had a safe, fun, and Happy Halloween. We didn't even have a single trick or treater. :( That is what you get when you live on a private road. The house we lived at prior to this one, was on a busy street, so we didn't get trick or treaters there, either. I love Halloween and wish I could see the little ghosts and goblins coming to my door. Some people get so many they run out of candy. I wasn't going to buy any candy this year, but my optimistic husband said we needed something for the neighbors when they drop by. Well, guess what? Even they didn't come by. So guess who has been eating the candy? :( Well enough of my rambling.

Todays card is clean and simple and made with The Simple Tree die. The colors have been beautiful this year and there are still many trees left to lose their leaves. The last few days have been a bit windy, so most of the leaves have fallen. I used different papers to show the many colors of the fall season. This is a card that is easy to make! I hope it inspires beginners and experienced card makers to give it a try. I think the result is kind of cute, if I do say so, myself. I hope you like it too! As always, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week! See you next Monday!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Inching by just to say hi

Hello and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I can almost hear you looking at this and saying DUH NIKKI, this is NOT a Halloween card!!! And you are CORRECT, however, it is made with a Halloween die! I used the Fuzzy Spider die to make my little inchworm. I {GASP} cut the legs stamp apart to just use two legs.

Well, here's my card for this week! I hope you have a SUPER HAPPY HALLOWEN!!! Oh, alright, since it IS Halloween...Here's a Halloween card I made last week using the Pumpkin Trio die. ☺

and just for kicks, a side view...

Ok, I'm REALLY done now. Hehehe. Again, have a SUPER HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! I hope your bucket floweth over with CANDY!!!!

Happy Haunting!

Hello and welcome to The Scrapping Cottage Blog!!  Well, my favorite holiday is soon going to be here and gone, and for my card today, I tried to use as many of these wonderful Cottage Cutz dies as I could ,because they're just to darned wonderful NOT to use!  For this 6x6 card, I used the Spooky Fence, Harvest Time (tiny pumpkins), Midnight Owl, and Skeleton Dies.  Here's what they all look like after I worked them together into the card.
I added some shading by sponging the edges of the skeleton and pumpkins, and the owl was shaded with my Copic markers.  Anyone who knows me at all, knows I have a hard time ever creating anything without some sparkle and ribbon, and as usual, I managed to find a spot for both on this card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I wish you a safe and happy Halloween, and some happy crafting this weekend, as well!!

Happy Halloween!

I hope you're staying warm where you are. With fall officially here, the temps have dropped considerably here in the high desert of Eastern Washington and I'm even wearing slippers in the house! GASP! It may not sound like a big deal, but I'm a year-round barefoot kinda gal and my feet have been freezing the past few days on these hardwood floors! But I digress... the reason for my fall lead-in is this card :)

I've used the pumpkin trio, minus their face stamps, for this glittery fall card. For the pretty corner flourishes, I used the vine stamp that comes with the trio die.

I added vines and leaves from the pumpkin patch die and the grass from the spooky fence. Cute, huh!

For my final project this week, another treat container! If I had a whole house for a storage unit, I could fill it with containers. I'm a container-holic {Nikki - no comment from you, hoarder-watcher! LOL) K, so anyway, this container, as you can see, is Queen and Co.

I took it apart to make a template...
...and traced it onto my double-sided paper
On the inside, I made my score lines and marked where my tabs and slots would be.
Fold, adhere and punch holes in the sides for my ribbon handle, and now I'm ready to embellish.
The adorable little witch on her broom makes a super cute little treat sweetie, doesn't she!
Add stickles - cuz everyone loves bling, even witches, don't you know....

...and a tag for giving. Here I used one of the pumpkins from the pumpkin trio and slipped the ribbon handle through one of the slots.

You still have a few days yet till Halloween if you want to make treat bags. You can use most any container as a template to make your own, or just grab a lunch bag and start embellishing! Pretty much anything will work....as long as it's got candy in it, right!? :) Happy Halloween!

Spooked!

I hope your Wednesday morning was more pleasant to wake up to then mine was....
It looks like winter outside here in Utah with 2-3 inches of the white stuff.
It should wait until after Halloween to snow in my opinion...
Today I want to share with you this card I made with the Kitties & Tombstone die.

I love that this has so many elements on one die: grass, Jack 0'lantern, kitty, bat and tombstone. I also used the mini fence die as well.
I hope you have a beautiful fall day where you live!
Kay

It's Monday Again! Good morning!

Good morning friends! Hope this finds you well and ready to begin a new week. I don't know about you, but the older I get, the faster time goes. Halloween is just 6 days away so I have slipped in one more Halloween card to show you. The dies I have used are Pumpkin Trio, Ghosts and bat, Crow mini, Scaredy cat mini, and the picket fence. I used Copics to color the background and moon, and a white gel pen for the highlights. Wishing you all a safe and fun Halloween on Sunday. Be back in a week! Hugs, Janice

Thankful

Hello! I hope this Sunday finds you well. For my card today, I wanted to show that the Pumpkin House die doesn't have to just be "Halloweenie". I used it to make a more Harvesty/Fall card.

Can you see inside here? ☺ I always finish off the inside of my cards with a small strip of whatever patterned paper I used on the front of the card. Well folks, that's my card for today...I'm off to watch an American Pickers marathon on t.v. and do some craftin'! I feel the need to glitter something! ☺

Have a GREAT day!
Nikki
