Fall is in the air....and on my projects, too!

Fall is here - well it is at my house anyway. :) I couldn't resist scrapping Regan's pumpkin pics with these super cute fall dies. I've used the Cottage Cutz pumpkin patch -- adorable!, crow, and loopy edger on my layout.


Tons of pieces to this shape but what a fun one to put together. I love that the letters for the sign come on the die so there is no guessing if they'll fit, they're perfect!



Love the crow and cut his bandana to match the accent paper.



I used a tiny piece of the loopy edger to make the vine on the pumpkin and combined the leaves and pumpkins to make my date tag.



For this halloween card I used the pumpkin patch die in a different way to show its versatility. Everything is popped with foam tape cuz foam tape is one of my favorite things in the whole world and I love it. :)

I wrote the letters on the sign with a marker and for the RIP letters, I used the P, I, and K. I cut an extra P and placed it over the K to make the R. The tombstone is actually part of the beach chairs die. The inside cut out from the back of the chair made the perfect headstone! The bat and pumpkin I had in my stash from a pack of Halloween Favorite Findings I've had forever.



To make the trailing vines along the bottom of the keep out sign I used the stem and leaves from the sunflowers on the pumpkin patch die, and I added stickles because stickles are cool on pretty much anything and everything! :) The drippy goo along the bottom is a Martha Stewart border punch.

Now I'm craving Gingerbread Cookies!

My most favorite kind of cookie is my mom's homemade Gingerbread cookies with lots of frosting. I have wonderful memories of these cookies growing up and my kids love them too.

Now that I have a daugther that's engaged and ready to start her own home I wanted to pass on her favorite recipes. I've started an 8x8 recipe book for her and made this recipe for her using

the CottageCutz Gingerbread Doll with the Peachy Keen face and once again used the

Rick-Rack Edger. Did I ever mention I love this edger die???

I inked the edges and then stamped the face. The white ink didn't show up as strong as I wanted it to so I went over it with some white paint. I also used some Glossy accents and some Stickles on the gumdrops.

Trick or Bone, The devil made me do it!

What kind of TREAT does ever Dog want. . even at Halloween? . . . .a BONE. This week I decided to create a shadowbox for Halloween.

The first die that I used was the Cottage Cutz Puppy front and back Die. I left the flower out of his mouth and added a treat bag with TREAT or BONE replacing the traditional Trick or Treat. ( I used my Dymo LetraTag Maker with white paper on very small size for the lettering). I cut the tail twice . . once in red to give him a red tail and added a hand cut arrow. Than cut his forehead in red, added two horns, and added part of the scarf from the die in red. The Dog was made in rust color card stock, highlighted in white and orange ColorBox ink.

The tree was made using the Cottage Cutz Spooky Tree Die. To get the tree to be more dimensional (reason for the box). . .I cut two trees, used a white glue (Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive) to glue the two trees together, but working fast. . . . lay the two trees directly on top of each other. . but slide each branch a bit to create waves or bents. This way when the glue dies it will dry curved and wavy. I know the picture does not show it very well but the tree is about a 1/2" thick (wavy). I generally don't say to much about glues, it is everyone own thing, but years ago a professional artist who does origami told me about Scotch Quick-Dry Glue (Red/Purple Label). He said that it was great for paper, dyes quick and strong. He said he didn't have to hold his folds as long before they dried. I love it (Acid Free/Photo safe). Comes in a 4oz bottle or carded 2oz. bottle. Available wherever Scotch products are sold (Did that just sound like a commercial?)

Opps. . . I think I have the photos backwards now, but will start with the box which is 4"x5" on the outside with a 3"x4" window and 1/2" thick. There is an additional piece of paper that slides into the box with a wacky shape window. I used foam core board to create the 1/4" lift to the center window. (above shows the foam core stripes on the back of the wacky window. Build your box (do not seal one end) Add a yellow moon using card stock and Crystal Stickle, Than glue the tree to the (front) center wacky window attaching at base of tree and one side branch. Add Glue to the foam core board and slide into the box. Seal the end of the box. You now have your shadow box with tree and moon. The treat bag was made with a 5/8" x 3/4" rectangle and a 1/2" and 5/8" circle punch (cut small than large)

Add the Dog to the front of the box. I used polka dot orange card stock for the box, so all I did was add jewels and Stickle here and there. You can attach a card to the back. . if you want it to be a shadowbox card. O' Forgot. . add a bit of stickle to the tree for moon glo. . . .Thanks B

Good Morning Friends!

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had an enjoyable Labor Day weekend. The weather here has been perfect! I love fall and I love Halloween, so I have made a Halloween card for today's post. It is that time of year, so I am sure you have been seeing lots of Halloween posts these days.
I used the mouse die for my Halloween rat. He is trying to hide, under the witches hat, from the 3 spooky ghosts. I used the ghost with legs die. I put the hat on the rat and didn't use the legs as I wanted my ghosts to be flying. And finally, I used the picket fence die. I love the picket fence and have used it often.

Boo Brew

Hello! I have just a super simple card today. I officially have Halloween fever already! I ♥ Halloween!!! I used the Tropical Drink die and turned it into some spooktastic boo brew. ☺ I used my dymo to make my sentiment. This is just a 3x3 card, which make great little gift cards for goodies! May Flowers

I started this little 6x6 Through the Years Album as a fun side project to my regular layout scrapping. I love the 6x6 size because I can complete pages so quickly and easily yet still have fun with my Cottage Cutz!

I have sort of started out of order with my months - again, just doing what I wanted - and here is my May double page. I thought the Cottage Cutz Potted Flower was the perfect touch for my May page to go along with the saying April showers, bring May flowers. Plus, the little stamped faces are so cute!! Again, perfect for my simple, whimsical mini album.

I hope my project today inspires you to get out your crafting tools and do some scrapping on this long weekend. This is a great time to start a quick and fun little project like a mini book!

Die Cut Fun!

Good morning!  Yes, the title says it all, and that's exactly what I've been having... die cut fun!  I've been playing away with my Cottage Cutz dies, and I have a couple of projects to share with you today as a result.  My first project is a little 6x6 layout I made with the Picnic Ant and Mini Ant dies.  They were cut with white card stock and colored with Copic markers.  I kept the rest of the page pretty simple by only adding the pennant banner for a title, which I cut by hand.  A fast and fun page, ready for a cute picnic picture.

 My second project is a card.  I've so enjoyed all the adorable and "punny" cards the girls have shared lately, so I thought I'd try one of my own.  I used the Sea Otter die from Cottage Cutz, and again colored him with Copics.  The sentiment is computer generated, and when I think of ocean, I think of pearls, so pearls it was for the bling on this card, along with the sparkle of diamond dust for that icy water.   The sparkles don't show up so well in the photo, but believe me, they're there.

Fun with summer shapes

Love the ice cream cone mini from the summer release. Simple circles and ribbon make for a quick 'just catching up" card.

I added bling for sprinkles....looks almost good enough to eat, doesn't it.

Fun play on words here with the lawn mower. LOL I love punny phrases!


Another of my favorite shapes is this rooster. So cute in pattern papers! And the loopy edger just seemed like the perfect accent for the loopy chicken. LOL

I'm sorry I'm so late posting today, but my life is on the crazy side these days with planning my daughters wedding in less than 8 weeks!

I used this cute Shovel and Pail die and created a little beach scene.

I love the simple detail in this die. There are so many fun colors you can make this out of.

Chilly Treats 5 cents

I have to agree, yesterday was a hot day and all I could think of is getting cooler. How about an Ice Cream? . . . it's always time for Ice Cream!!!! This week I decided to do a winter door sign. I started with a 7" x 11" sheet of Chip Board. I used my Gypsy to weld an alphabet to create the work CHILLY, and gave it a little twist. I used a lot of Cottage Cutz Dies this week, including the Snowman Doll, The Doll Accessory Set #3 (Scarf/Hat). I also used the Spring Flourish #1 for the wind swirls behind the word chilly. The top and bottom edge of the sign I used the Cottage Cutz Rick-Rack Edger, yes the sign was longer than the die, but I pieced it behind the bow on top and the 5 cent disc at the bottom. Accented the wind, lettering (treats) and scallop edge of 5 cent sign with Crystal Stickle. Inked the edge of the sign in Lavender with a sponge.

Because I wanted my snowman to be a treat, I decided to use the Cottage Cutz Ice Cream Cone die from earlier this year. I have always loved the waffle cone. It make a great themed ice cream cone. O' and don't forget the cherry on top. Keep Cool!!!!!!

Colors may have been a little different, but White, Light Blue, Deep Turquoise, Lavender and Lime Green are a good color mix for Christmas. Cool and Bright!

Feeling Bubbly!

Good morning friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It has been hot, here!
Today's card was made using the Puppy in Bathtub die. I think I have a thing for bubble baths. I have several stamps that are bubble baths. Maybe because several years ago, I saw a card made with a shower curtain on the Score-pal website, and I just thought it was so cute! I wish I had thought of it myself.

I punched the die using white cardstock, then colored with copics. I put Krystal Effects on the bubbles. For the shower curtain, I used a 4" by 8" strip of SU vellum, scored at 1/2" intervals.
I folded along the score lines to make the pleats, punched a hole and used some white cord to hang the shower curtain. I placed a small eyelet at the top corners to thread the cord through. I tried to pick patterned paper to resemble wall paper and tiled floor. I am happy with the result. I hope you like it too!

Hi! I apologize for the simple card! It's not my best work, I know! My husband and I are out of town this weekend, so I had to make something quickly! I really do LOVE the kite dies, and I am NOT showing them in a very good light! So, please forgive me, and know that the dies are AMAZING!!!!

Sunny Saturday!

Happy Saturday everyone! My project today is inspired by the adorable Cottage Cutz Summer Sun Shape from the Under the Sun August Release.

For this card, I took my inspiration from the bright colors of this Bo Bunny patterned paper to make a cheery hello card. These vibrant colors and happy sun just can't help but to brighten someone's day!

I inked the edges of the individual pieces of the sun to make them stand out a bit against each other and to add a little extra dimension.
