Birthday Garden

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

It is Pam creating with you on the blog today!

I am using one of our new slimline dies today and a variety of dies from our Springtime Release.  I have a number of birthdays coming up in the spring and summer months so I am getting a head start.

Design Steps:
1.  Begin by using a blue slimline card base and set aside.  Use the second from the largest Slimline Stitched Rectangle die and cut out 2 (one for the inside) using white card stock.  On the white rectangle for the front of the card use a blue ink and blender brush add some sky in the three spots as shown above
2.  Use the Victorian Fence die and cut out 3 pieces of fence on kraft card stock.  Using the Spring Grass die cut out 3 pieces of grass on green card stock.  Trim down the grass and fence then glue the grass to the bottom front of the fence.  Glue the fence bottom only to the card front in the area where you inked.  The reason you only glue down the bottom is so you can tuck in the flowers behind the fence
3.  Use the Spring Flower PotBunny Gnome 1Cat w/Spring Bird, Spring Bloom CottageBird w/ Bluebells, Mouse w/Flower Cart for all of your garden pieces.  I used 2 shades of green, purple, yellow, pink, tan, gray, black and vellum

4.  Assemble your flowers, watering can, birds, and bees.  Glue the flowers behind the fence as shown.  After your flowers are tucked in glue the top part of the fence down.  Pop up the watering can, bunny and bird as shown.  Glue the bees in place as shown,  add little pearls to the inside of your flower then stamp and add your sentiment. Your card is complete

I got a lot of use out of the Spring Release collection with different pieces from a variety of dies.  And I just love how it turned out.

A Lucky Few Have a Mom Like You!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm back with another card featuring the new Slimline dies. With Mother's Day right around the I decided to create a simple but elegant card.  The floral papers were definitely the inspiration for my card!

First, I cut out my card and 2 layers with the Rounded Rectangles Slimline die set.  All of the die cuts are from the Spring Bloom Cottage die set which has so many elements that can be used separately as I did on this card.  I used some card stock along with Oxide Inks to shade the pieces.  The 3 circles are from the Circle Set die set.
To create my card, I layered the rounded rectangles on my card base and then evenly spaced the circles directly on top.
The watering cans were affixed in the center of the top and bottom circles on my card.
Next, I adhered each of the smaller mushrooms to the larger mushroom and then placed them inside the middle circle.
I heat embossed the sentiment on a coordinating piece of card stock and adhered it under the set of mushrooms.

Happy Birthday!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I have a project to share for my design team post. Today's card follows the Throwback Tuesday theme featuring the fun and festive Party Animal Bus as the focal point of my card.  On Throwback Tuesdays the design team has an opportunity to use die sets from previous releases and this one was sitting on my craft desk just waiting to be used.  My card also showcases the new Slimline dies.

I used some cloud themed paper and cut it with the Nested Stitched Rectangle Slimline die.  Next, I affixed the hill cut from the Hills Slimline die set on the bottom edge of my card. It looked a little plain so I adhered another layer for a bit of dimension.  I was inspired to do this by another Cottage Cutz design team member, Pam.  You can check out her super cute layered hill card here. The adorable party animal bus was placed on top of the hill with a couple extra balloons floating above.  I heat embossed the happy birthday sentiment directly on my card base.

Home Sweet Home

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a Spring card for you today. I combined this lovely cottage with different slimline dies.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Spring Bloom Cottage, Nested Stitched Rectangles Slimline, Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline, Grass Slimline, Clouds Slimline),

- Distress Inks,

- white card base (9,5x22 cm),

- violet card stock for die cuts,

- white card stock for die cuts,

- silver pigment ink,

- black pigment ink,

- alphabet stamps,

- acrylic block,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the cottage.

Next I did the background. I made a paper stencil with one of the clouds slimline dies and used it to make cloudy sky. I colored directly on the scalloped stitched rectangle. After the clouds I stamped the sentiment.

Then I cut and colored the grass out of the second largest nested stitched rectangle.

I also cut the largest nested stitched rectangle, this time from violet card stock.

When I had all the parts ready I finished my card. And this is the final result.

Before I go I invite you to The Scrapping Cottage online store to check The National Scrapbook day Sale

And that's all from me for today. Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.

Mother's Day in the Bunny Tree Cottage

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Friday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. Your slimline cardmaking is going to get a lot easier. We have 9 Slimline designs and they are on a 25% off sale. These are wonderful, basic dies that should be a part of every card maker's collection especially if you are liking the new slimline style.

The Circus, Spring and Safari dies are also currently on a 25% off sale. The DT is using dies from these collections along with the new Slimline dies to create our card samples.

Today for your viewing pleasuring, I am using the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline die along with the Bunny Tree Cottage dies and I created a Mother's Day card. My next door neighbor has 2 little ones and this will go to her. Her little 3 year old loves to bake with Mommy so I thought this scene would be perfect for her.

Design Steps:
I started my card by cutting the Bunny Tree Cottage in different colors of cardstock. I cut 2 of the little bunnies and cut their outfits in blue and pink. My neighbor has a little boy and girl. Instead of the Mama bunny holding the pie, I put it in the hands of the small bunny. So she is presenting it to Mama for a Mother's Day gift.

Next I cut my background panel. I used the 2nd largest Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline die and cut in white cardstock. I sponged tumbled glass distress and mowed lawn distress inks on the panel. I also used the Clouds Slimline die and cut in white cardstock then sponged it with tumbled glass distress ink.
I stamped my Mother's Day Sentiment in an indigo blue ink directly on the clouds.
Now that the card elements are done I am ready to start assembling my outdoor scene. I attached the clouds with double sided tape. The tree and cottage door with glue dots, the grass tufts and mushrooms are attached with Ranger multi matte adhesive. The bunnies are attached with dimensional adhesive. I also cut a flower pot & tulip and put it in the hands of the little boy bunny.
To finish off my card, I cut a medium purple card base 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" and scored at 2 3/4" and attached the image panel to the base. I also added a couple of mushrooms at the tree base and front door to the cottage.
That's it for me for this week. I hope I have given you an idea for using both the new Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline die and the Bunny Tree Cottage. See you next Saturday!
