Watercolour on Diecuts-floral card

Hello dear friends

Happy Friday to all !!!
Spring is in full bloom and flowers are spreading their beauty all over. It's Anita once again, sharing with you the beauty of spring flowers.

Many times we are all short of time and also some people are not fond of making 3D flowers . They want quick beautiful cards .
So here is a cool technique where colouring die cuts with water colour can really make them look beautiful and layering them together gives a lovely floral card like this.

To make this card,
Cut all the die cuts with white card stock and emboss a card panel 6" x 4"

Using distress inks , colour all the die cuts. Use the negative of the wild flower to create subtle stamping on the oval label. Distress ink names are mentioned below.

Layer the ovals like this and adhere on the embossed panel as shown.

Adhere all the die cuts layering them together like this.
Add a sentiment.

Adhere the card panel on card base measuring 7" x 5".

CottageCutz products used.

Distress inks used -- Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn, Chipped Sapphire, Candied Apple, Fossilised Amber, Carved Pumpkin
I hope you will try this technique. Do share your work. I hope you have a good crafty weekend.

Wildflower Sympathy

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Wednesday edition of the Blog.

We have some fabulous new Spring dies in the store. Today for your viewing pleasure I am featuring some of the new Wildflowers dies. I have used Wildflowers 1 and Wildflowers 3 on my card for today.

Let's get started on how I created this card.

Mint Green Card Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Navy Layering Panel: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Patterned Paper Panel: 5 1/4" x 4"

I wanted to use these beautiful wildflower dies to create a sympathy card. My choice of colors today came from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #622. When I was looking through my cardstock, I found these A2 card bases in my stash that had a watercolor wash. It was perfect for my card idea.

So all I did was cut the A2 card to the size panel that I needed. The card had the watercolor design on the front and back of the base. So now I have another panel to create a 2nd card. I matched it up with a mint green and navy blue panels.
Even though I was creating a sympathy card, I still wanted a splash of color for the flowers. I used the watermelon color for the wildflowers. I thought that would look good against the mint and dark blue of the card front.

I stamped my sympathy sentiment on the image panel in navy ink before I assembled my card. I then assembled the panels with double sided tape. I didn't add my die cut images because I didn't want the flowers to interfere with the layering. Sometimes it can through off your eyeballing of getting the layers straight.

My next step was to add my wildflowers, butterfly and scatter a few sequins to finish off this card. I like to have a sympathy card or 2 in my stash for when the occasion arises. It's easier for me to create a sympathy card when you don't need one. Below is a photo with a close-up view of the dies. You can always click on it to get a larger view.

Well that's it for me for today. Thanks for dropping by today and leaving your comments. I read them all. Until next time.........

Variation of card. On this one I used navy blue enamel dots and a dragonfly.

Flowers of Love

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have some fabulous new Spring dies released over at the online store. Today for your viewing pleasure I am featuring Wildflowers 1, Wildflowers 2 and Wildflowers 3 dies. So let's get started on how I created my card.

Navy Blue Card Base: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Patterned Paper Panel: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Navy Blue Rectangle Panel: 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" (2nd largest of rectangle dies)

My choice of colors for my card today came from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #622. Those colors are mint, watermelon and navy blue. And then I chose my background navy patterned paper. From there I decided on a card layout and cut the necessary pieces.

The circles are from the CottageCutz circle and stitched circle dies. Both are the 4th largest dies in the sets. The navy blue rectangle is from the 2nd largest rectangle die in this set.
I cut the wildflowers in the watermelon shade of the color challenge. And the dragonfly in the mint shade also from the challenge. When I started the assembling of my card, I decided to use the Wildflowers 3 die and eliminate the 2 die cuts from Wildflowers 1.
I decided to add a mint strip across my card and top that with some navy blue ribbon. I also stamped my sentiment on the white circle in navy ink. I used an embossing folder to add some texture to the mint panel.
I was now ready to start the assembly of my card. On the large panels I used double sided tape. On the wildflowers I used Ranger multi-matte medium. The wildflower dies have great detail as you can see in this close up photo. On the sentiment circle I also added some watermelon circles.

Well that's it for me for this week. I hope I have given you an additional idea on how to use the Wildflower dies. I will be posting again on Wednesday with another idea for using the Wildflowers.  So until then..........
