Have A Nice Day

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a simple and clean card for you today. I combined two of the Safari release dies and made the scene below.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Safari Watering Hole, Safari Zebra, Oval Set),

- Distress Inks,

- white card base (15x15 cm),

- white card stock for die cuts and paper stencil,

- black card stock,

- black pen,

- white pen,

- washi tape,

- brush,

- black pigment ink,

- sentiment stamp,

- acrylic block,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the watering hole.

Next I cut and colored the zebra. This time I used black cardstock for black parts.

Then I did the background. I made a paper stencil using the oval set dies. I used the largest and cut it out of the white cardstock. I placed the stencil over the card base and set it with washi tape. I used a makeup brush to blend different shades of blue ink for the sky.

Then I added the sentiment.

And last I just added all the cut and colored pieces and my card was done.

Thank you for stopping by. I wish you all a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.

Sunset Sympathy

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

It is Pam sharing with you on the blog today!

I am making a variety of cards to start off the new year to refill my card stash.  And the one card I always have trouble making is a sympathy card especially when it is needed right away.  So I thought I would make a few a head of time so if needed it won't be do difficult.  I am using two dies from the Safari release the Savanna die and the Safari Watering Hole.  I thought they made a very peaceful scene for a sympathy card.

Design Steps:
1.  Cut all of the pieces in black using the Savanna die.  I only used the smaller tree, a piece of grass and the birds for this card

2.  Assemble the tree using a fine tip glue and using the Safari Watering Hole die cut out the animals in black card stock

3.  Cut a piece of white card stock 4 x 4 and select your inks to create your sunset.  I cut a circle to mask the sun using the 4th from the largest Pierced Circle die.  First ink 3/4 of the white card stock with the lightest yellow.  Then place down your mask for the sun.  Next ink with the darker yellow working around the mask.  Select your orange ink and ink just to the edge of the darker yellow and last add your red along the edges of the paper.  For the bottom I ripped a Post It note and masked off the ground first the heavier black then moved the mask and used a lighter touch for the top black
4.  Cut a piece of white card stock 4 x 5 1/4 and then cut a circle in the center slightly toward the top.  I used the second from the largest Pierced Circle die.  Stamp your sentiment on the bottom and add a couple of score lines.  Use an A2 black card stock base.  Glue the sunset to the back of the white card stock with the circle cut out then portion onto the black card base.  Add the tree and the animals and your card is complete

Black Friday Release Samples

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit this Wednesday on the day before Thanksgiving here in the USA.

We have a brand new Black Friday Safari release available in the online store. There are 16 new designs in this release. There is something for everyone to help you create birthday, anniversary, thinking of you, graduation, get well and thank you cards. Let your creativity and imagination run wild with these dies.

And, you can pick these new dies up at a great bundle price of only $89.95.  But don't wait because the bundle price only lasts for the next 10 days. The sale will end on December 4th.

The DT has created some really cute cards for your inspiration and we will be featuring them over the next several days. So let's get started with our cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample for today is from Sukie Dhillon. She used the new Safari Cruiser w/Banner & Savanna dies and created a birthday card. Her punny sentiment is the perfect play on words and helps to accentuate the "wild theme" of the card.
The fluffy clouds, inked card base and the acacia tree provides the perfect backdrop for an adventure on the Savanna. Love how the safari banner, that is part of this die, completes this scene by floating amongst the clouds.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Pam MacKay. She used the new Safari Watering Hole die and created an anniversary card, but it could be used for multiple occasions. It would work as a Valentine card or a birthday card for that special someone.
The map designer paper carries through the African Savanna theme really well. The framing of the image draws your eye right to the animals gathered around the watering hole. She used a blending brush to create the sky and grass. It's a perfect look for this idyllic scene.

Well that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas for different way to use these new Safari dies. We will be back on Friday with more samples from this release. Check out the online store for the big Black Friday sale with savings of up to 85% on selected dies.
