Safari

Hi everyone. Welcome today I am sharing a fun idea actually from my friends son.  He was having some friends over and wanted me to make something to cheer his friends up.  So i showed him some of my dies and he picked the Safari Peekers.

The look is simple because he didn’t want it to look to girly as he said.  So I made sure to make it very badic and added a nice clean sentiment of Happy.

He actually helped piece everything together and we made enough for 5 of his friends.  Goes to show how something so simple can go  a long way.

Love U

Hi!

It's Anja here again today. I made another Valentine's Day card for today's post. It's a simple and clean card with bright yellow car.

For this car used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Safari Peekers, Forest Peekers Beaver & Dog, Ballerina Mouse),

- Distress Inks,

- white card base (15x15 cm),

- white card stock for die cuts,

- silver pigment ink,

- black pigment ink,

- sentiment stamp,

- acrylic block,

- black pen,

- white pen,

- brush,

- adhesive foam pads,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored all the pieces. Next I glued the dog and the balloon to the car. Then I colored the background. I colored with a brush directly on the card base. Next I added the sentiment. Again I stamped it directly on the card base. And last I added the car. This time I used adhesive foam pads to add some dimension to the card.

That's my short post for today. Have a nice week and see you again on Sunday.

Have a Wild Birthday!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing a fun and festive birthday card.  I took a break from creating Christmas cards and used one of the new die sets from the Safari die release for this card.

The Safari Peekers were perfect for tucking inside the Stitched Wide Rectangle Frame.  The frame coordinated perfectly with the patterned leaf paper.  Once the animals were nestled inside the frame, I used the Party Elephant die set to cut out the bouquet of balloons and the party hats.  The party hats were added to the lion and monkey.  The finishing accent on my card was the sentiment.
Here are the die sets used on my card, available in the store:

Wild Ride

Hi!

It's Anja here. I got a package of most adorable dies this week. And decided to make a frame as my first project.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Safari Peekers, Savanna, Circle Set),
- Distress Inks,
- white card stock for die cuts and background (20x15 cm),
- picture frame (for 13x18 cm  photo),
- moss effect and grass effect paste,
- velvet powder,
- silver pigment ink,
- black pen,
- white pen,
- plastic stencil (clouds),
- heat gun,
- paper glue,
- washi tape,
- adhesive foam pads.

First I cut all parts for the trees. I used moss effect paste for trees and green effect paste for grass. I add generous amount of the paste on the cuts and dried it with the heat gun. The heat blows up the paste and gives it 3d effect. After that I colored the pieces around the edges with Distress Ink. For the grass cuts I added velvet powder before I dried the pieces with the heat gun. The powder gives it a nice effect.

Then I cut and colored all the other parts.

After all the pieces were ready I started on the background. I colored the grass and the road with Distress Inks. I made a stencil for the sun. First I used the negative of the circle to color the sun. Then I used the cut circle and washi taped it on the colored sun. Next I used the stencil and made the clouds.

When all the part was ready I adhered the trees and stones to the background. Then I inserted the background into the frame and added the car. I adhered the car with adhesive foam pads. And my frame was done.

That's all from me for today. Have a nice week and see you again next Sunday.

Black Friday Release Samples (Day 4)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit on this Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

We have a brand new Black Friday Safari release available in the online store. There are 16 new designs in this release. There is something for everyone to help you create birthday, anniversary, thinking of you, graduation, get well and thank you cards. Let your creativity and imagination run wild with these dies.

And, you can pick these new dies up at a great bundle price of only $89.95. But don't wait because the bundle price only lasts for the next 10 days. The sale will end on December 4th.

The DT has created some really cute cards for your inspiration and we have been featuring them over the last couple of days. If you missed those posts check them out here, here and here. Now, let's get started with our cards for today.

Card 1: The first card today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the new Safari Peekers die. I thought this group of animals would be perfect to use a sentiment that gives birthday greetings from a group. It's going to my little granddaughter who has a bunch of stuffies here at my house. They will be sending her a birthday card in December.
To complement the Safari theme, I chose a background paper with various shades of greenery that looks like a jungle. Since the paper is a little busy, I framed it and then popped up the images to add dimension and the appearance of the designer paper to be off in the background.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Anja Zurga. We are doing a little change up and featuring a Christmas card from our Christmas Part 2 release. She used the new Reindeer w/Tree die to create a really cute card. The reindeer looks like he is ready to bring on the merry. Her backgrounds are always amazing and for this one she used 2 distress ink shades and water and the smooshing technique. It gives the effect of a snowy swirly background.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope we have given you some creative ideas for different ways to use these new dies. Stop back again on Monday for another  sample from the Safari release. Don't forget to check out the online store for the big Black Friday sale with savings of up to 85% on selected dies.
