Birthday Garden

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

It is Pam creating with you on the blog today!

I am using one of our new slimline dies today and a variety of dies from our Springtime Release.  I have a number of birthdays coming up in the spring and summer months so I am getting a head start.

Design Steps:
1.  Begin by using a blue slimline card base and set aside.  Use the second from the largest Slimline Stitched Rectangle die and cut out 2 (one for the inside) using white card stock.  On the white rectangle for the front of the card use a blue ink and blender brush add some sky in the three spots as shown above
2.  Use the Victorian Fence die and cut out 3 pieces of fence on kraft card stock.  Using the Spring Grass die cut out 3 pieces of grass on green card stock.  Trim down the grass and fence then glue the grass to the bottom front of the fence.  Glue the fence bottom only to the card front in the area where you inked.  The reason you only glue down the bottom is so you can tuck in the flowers behind the fence
3.  Use the Spring Flower PotBunny Gnome 1Cat w/Spring Bird, Spring Bloom CottageBird w/ Bluebells, Mouse w/Flower Cart for all of your garden pieces.  I used 2 shades of green, purple, yellow, pink, tan, gray, black and vellum

4.  Assemble your flowers, watering can, birds, and bees.  Glue the flowers behind the fence as shown.  After your flowers are tucked in glue the top part of the fence down.  Pop up the watering can, bunny and bird as shown.  Glue the bees in place as shown,  add little pearls to the inside of your flower then stamp and add your sentiment. Your card is complete

I got a lot of use out of the Spring Release collection with different pieces from a variety of dies.  And I just love how it turned out.

Sending Hugs Slimline Card

Happy Friday!  I'm so excited - there is a new release of SLIMLINE DIES!  These are wonderful, basic dies that should be a part of every card maker's collection. My card today utilizes several of these dies along with an adorable mouse from the Spring release.

Here is how I created the card:

I started by using the second largest of the Stitched Rectangles Slimline dies to cut two panels - one from white and the other from green cardstock.

I then used one of the Grass Slimline dies to cut a strip of grass.  By cutting the grass from the Stitched Rectangle first the stitching continues around the whole rectangle when they are glued together.

I then used the Clouds Slimline to make three stencils for my background.
Using a blending brush and Distress Oxide ink I stenciled the clouds.
I glued the grass to the background making sure I only glued the bottom and side edges (so I can slip my image under the grass.)  I stamped my "sending" sentiment and adhered the Hugs Phrase.  I placed a self adhesive sheet on the back of Hugs before die cutting to make this easier to place on the card.

Next I cut my image using the Mouse w/Flower Cart die.  The image is colored with a combination of Distress Oxide inks and Copic markers.

I wanted to use this yellow flower paper for my panel to cover the card base.  Because it was so lightweight, I cut a panel from lightweight white cardstock using  the largest of the Nested Rectangles Slimline dies.  I cut the floral from the largest of the Stitched Rectangles and glued them together.
I tucked my mouse and cart under the grass and adhered the image panel to my floral panel.  This all was glued to a card base.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today.  These slimline dies allow so many creative possibilities for your card making.  They are on sale for a limited time (52% off the bundle or 25% off individual dies) so please visit the online store.  There is also an Anniversary sale with up to 60% off select dies!

You're Egg-stra Special!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I have an Easter card to share for my design team day.  I used 2 die set from the new Springtime die release.  These die sets made for the sweetest Easter card!

I used a combination of colored card stock and some Oxide Inks for the die cut pieces.  I ended up cutting out the Hatching Bunny Chick twice.  All of the other die cut pieces are from the Mouse w/Flower Cart.
The background for my card was embossed with the Cuttlebug Chicken Wire embossing folder.  I punched out a strip of grass from the Fiskars Grass border punch. The sentiment sign was cut with my paper trimmer.
Once I adhered the grass border along the bottom edge of my card, I tucked the flowers in the center.
Next, I adhered one of the chicks on the left side of my card angling him just a bit for a whimsical appearance.
The other chick was affixed on the opposite side of my card, also angled a tiny bit.
The sentiment pieces were put together to create a sign which was propped up above the chicks.
The little bees were added to my card as the final finishing touch to create the sweet Easter scene!
Here are the die sets used on my card, available in the store:

Have A Nice Day

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have another Spring card for you today.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Mouse w/Flower Cart, Spring Grass),
- Distress inks,
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- black pen,
- white pen,
- black pigment ink,
- sentiment stamp,
- acrylic block,
- plastic stencil (clouds),
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the mouse with the cart.

Next I cut and colored the grass.

Then I did the background. I used the plastic stencil.

Then I arranged all the pieces on the card base and added the sentiment.

And my card was done.

Before I go I want to invite you to The Scrapping Cottage online store to check St. Patrick's Day Sale

And that's all from me for today. Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.
