This is the 2nd day of featuring DT favorite cards from 2023. So, let's get started to see what they have chosen. 

Design Team Faves:

Kristine created a beautiful sympathy card using dies from our Flowers & More release as another of her faves from 2023. There is a complete tutorial on this post. 

Kristine also selected this envelope box card as a fave using dies from the Easter release. The bold and bright colors made it so perfect for Springtime. See this post for a complete tutorial. 

Pam chose this tulip card as another of her faves from 2023. It's a perfect way to send a bouquet of beautiful paper flowers. See her tutorial here. 

Marla chose this beautiful Folk Art Rooster card as another of her faves from 2023. Distress inks and white gouache really captured the folk-art style in such a unique way. 

Melinda chose this shadow box home decor item as another of her faves from 2023. You can see more of how she created this on her Blog post here. 

I (Mary Marsh) chose this pop-up fun fold birthday card as another of my faves from 2023. You can see the complete tutorial on this post. There is also a video on the post that shows it opening and closing.

Other News: This is my last post as a member of the CottageCutz Design Team. It's been nearly 8 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time designing for this incredible company. But in 2024 I will be getting more involved in the political realm in my community and that will take a good amount of my time. So, farewell my friends. It's been a wonderful ride!

DT Faves from 2023

For today and tomorrow we will be featuring some of the DT favorite cards from 2023. So let's get started to see what they have chosen. 

Design Team Faves:

Melinda made this Hot Coca Box in January. She presented a way to take Christmas dies and use them for the winter season. There are full details and more photos to show all sides of the box on this Blog post. 

Pam chose this slimline Valentine card using the Classic 50's dies. It's a great color palette and a super cute card for all ages from the boomers through the millennials. See her post here. 

Kris chose her vertical easel card using dies from the Christmas release and created a thank you card. This card was one of my faves as well because it ended up in my mailbox. I have it on display in my craft room. She has a complete tutorial on this Blog post.  

Marla chose this beautiful Fall themed card that she created in a 5 x 7 design. All her tips and tricks on how she created this card are on this YouTube post. 

I (Mary) chose this fun fold pop-up birthday card as one of my faves from 2023. All the details of how I created it are on this Blog post.

Garden Window Die

Hello Blogger Friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit on this last Monday of November. 

It's new release time!!! we have our annual Black Friday release available now in the online store. There are 19 different designs and they can be used for all seasons. 

The dies are broken into 2 different bundles with bundle pricing under $78. Bundle pricing is only available through Friday, December 1. Or you can pick up the individual dies for 30& off.  

Today we are featuring another card from Marla. She used the Garden Window and the Hanging Plants dies and created a thinking of you card in a clean & simple design. 

The background white card base is embossed with a brick embossing folder. She hung her plants on the window inside. Plants are colored with Copic markers. For her cat image she used a blending brush and black soot distress ink. 

The team started showing samples with the new release last week so check back on the Blog if you missed any.

Father Christmas Scene

It's new release time!!! We have our Christmas 2023 release in the online store that has 40 designs. It's an old-fashioned Christmas theme. You can pick up the individual dies at 30% off for a limited time.

We also have a new Fall 2023 release in the online store with 15 designs. You can also pick up these individual dies at 30% off for a limited time.

Today the dies being featured are Father Christmas, Holly Frame, Pine Tree Full and Pine Tree Slim. 

Marla is our designer and she created a beautiful outdoor scene with all these dies.  It's another card that has that wow factor but would be easy to recreate in multiples.

Today the die being featured is the Rocking Horse w/Toys die. Marla created this beautiful vintage style card and her choice of patterned paper complements the die so well.

Fall Designs Group Post (Day 2)

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. This post is featuring cards using the new Fall Release. There are 15 designs in this release and are available in the online store with special pricing.

The designs are so perfect for all your Fall projects- birthday, Thanksgiving, thinking of you, encouragement and home decor just to name a few. They allow you to add a beautiful touch of Fall to whatever you may be creating.

We have had a good response when we do a group post on a new release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. There are 3 samples in today's post, and we also showed 3 samples on Wednesday. See Day 1 samples here.

Now onto our samples for today. 

Card 1: Our first sample today is from Kristine Breach.  She created such a playful Fall scene featuring the cute critters from the Autumn Friends die and paired it with the Fall Branch w/Swing. Love the owl sitting on the swing.  It's a larger format in a horizontal 5x7 card. 

Her images are all colored with Copic markers. The color scheme followed the Splitcoaststampers color Challenge #968 this week.  Optional was an "anything goes" theme. She took advantage of that by adding a few more Fall colors along with some neutrals.

Card 2: Our next sample for today is from Marla Harris. This tranquil Fall scene is so perfect for a Thanksgiving card.

She used the Fall Gate w/Flowers and the Fall Branch w/Swing dies to create this beauty. 

The images are all colored with Copic markers including the grass in the background. The sky is inked with distress oxide salvaged patina and peacock feather inks. The sunflowers, accents to the fence and pumpkin are all lifted off the background with dimensional adhesive to add depth. 

Card 3: Our last sample for today is from Melinda Beltran. She used the Fall Centerpiece and Autumn Garland dies and designed a beautiful home decor piece. She altered a Dollar Store find to create her own shadowbox. 

Melinda is quite the pro at altering items and achieving a finished upscale look. For this project, she moved away from the traditional Fall colors for her pumpkins and sunflowers to the trendy pastels that are being shown this season.

Group Post Day 2 (Folk Art Dies)

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. This post is day 2 of  cards using the new Folk Art release.   There are 19 new designs in this release and are so perfect for cardmaking, journaling, and scrapbooking. They allow you to add a beautiful touch of folk art to whatever you may be creating.

We have had a good response when we do a group post on a new release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. There are 3 samples in today's post and we also showed  3 samples yesterday. See Day 1 samples here.

Also just released is our Patriotic 4th of July release with 12 amazing patriotic designs and bundle pricing at 40% off. If you love making patriotic cards to honor a veteran, to celebrate the 4th of July or to display your love for America, we have you covered with this new release. The DT will begin showing samples starting Monday and continue for the month of June.

Now onto our Folk Art Samples for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is from Kristine Breach.  She used the Folk Art Deer, Folk Art Trees, Stitched Alphabet and Hills Slimline dies to create a fun fold bridge card. It's such a beautiful Christmas card and it shows you how easily these dies can be taken into the Christmas season.

 

The use of non-traditional colors are so perfect way for a folk-art design card. This would also be a great home decor piece to display at Christmas. 

Card 2: Our next sample for today is from Marla Harris. She used the Folk Art Rooster, Folk Art Flowers Mixed, Folk Art Egg and the Fence & Grass dies to create a stunning mixed media thinking of you card. 

Her images are colored with distress inks. She splattered with water as well as white gouache to the images. She has captured the folk-art design in such a unique and beautiful way. 

Card 3: Our last sample for today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the Folk Art House (small and medium) and the Folk Art Trees dies to also create a Christmas card. I was inspired by Kristine's sample, so I decided to try a Christmas theme using these dies. I thought the house and trees would work well in a snow globe. 

For the globe I used the largest Circle Set die and then embossed with a snowfall folder. For the base of the globe and ribbon I used and old die -Snowglobe w/Fawn. I covered my images with a plastic window sheet. 

The Peace and Joy phrase is a die from last year's Christmas release.
