You Inspire Me

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a simple card for you today. I used a Happy Hamster die and made a card to tell someone he's your inspiration.

I colored the background directly to the craft card base (13x13 cm). I used white pigment ink and a plastic stencil. Then I added the colored hamster. I colored it with die inks and I used silver pigment ink for the wheel.

Last I added the stamped sentiment and my card was done.

You can get the hamster die on sale as a lot of other dies (including new releases). Just check The Scrapping Cottage online store

Have a good week and see you again on Sunday.

Birthday hamsters

Hi Janja here. Welcome to the blog.
For today's post, I wanted to create something vibrant. I used some dies from past releases and here is my birthday card.

- CottageCutz dies: Happy Hamster, Flower Pot House, Clouds & Sun
- blank card: 4 ¼ x 5 ½” (10,8 x 14 cm), folded
- white cardstock: 3 15/16 x 5 3/16” (10 x 13,2 cm)
- different colors of cardstock
- different colors of ink pads
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive foam pads

First, cut out two hamsters, a large flower pot, grass and some individual flowers from different colors of cardstock. Shade all cutouts with ink pads.

Then cut the sun and white cloud out of the cardstock. Stamp a sentiment.

Trim white cardstock. Use a large brush and ink to shade the background.

Paste the background on the front of the card. Gradually paste all the cutouts as shown and we're done.

Thank you for stopping by.

I Wheelie Love You Card

Hello!  This is Sukie and I'm sharing a project for my guest designer post. Today, I'm getting a jump start on a Valentine's Day card created with the Happy Hamster and Stitched Rounded Rectangle die sets.
I kept this card fairly simple since I wanted the hamster and the fun sentiment to be the focal point of my card.  Once I inked the die cuts on the edges, it all came together very quickly.
I found the perfect paper in my stash for the Valentine's theme.  I heat embossed a sentiment from the Scrappy Moms (retired) "Crazy for You" stamp set and hand cut the edges into a banner shape.  An extra banner was cut to layer underneath the sentiment.
I colored in the eyes with a black gel pen and added a tiny white dot to each of the eyes with a white gel pen.  A bit of chalk was brushed on to the cheeks which is a bit hard to see in the pictures.
The sentiment was adhered onto the die cut rectangle and anchored with the sweet hamster wheel. A couple of enamel shaped hearts were placed on the hand cut banner.
Here are the dies I used to create my card, available in the shop:

Hampster Hugs!

Good Morning Friends

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  I certainly did!  It was so much fun spending time with my family.  Today,  I am starting to make my Valentine cards if you can believe it!  I am using one of our adorable new release pet dies!

Designer Steps:
 1.  Using the Happy Hampster die cut out the wheel using a metalic silver, cut out the hampsters using light brown and brown card stock.  Cut the little teeth on white and the little tuffs of fur in dark brown card stock
2.  Use TH inks to shade the hampsters and assemble them
3.  Start by using a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of white card stock scored at 2 3/4 inches and 5 1/2 inches
4.   Cut an 11 x 1 1/2 inch piece of white card stock and score at 5 1/2 and 8 1/4
5. Cut Pink card stock 1 piece 4 x 5 1/4 and 2 pieces 4 x 2 1/2 set aside
6.  Cut Pink Heart DP  1 piece 3 3/4 x 5 and 2 pieces 3 3/4 x 2 1/4.  Glue the Pink DP to the pink card stock  and then attach to the card
7.  Cut pink card stock 1 piece 1 1/4 x 5 1/4 and 2 pieces 2 1/2 x 1 1/4.  Emboss each piece and then glue the pink card stock to the white strip

8.  Attach the strip to the card making sure you only place glue on the first 4th of the strip and the last 4th of the strip.  The middle fold will pop out toward you as you fold the card
9.  Cut out the Hugs using the Stitched Alphabet die on white card stock
10.  Glue the Hampster onto the wheel and then glue to the front flap.  Glue the Hugs to the front strip as shown
11.  Glue the other little Hampster to the inside on top of the strip as shown
12.  Cut out 2 red hearts using the Stitched Cupcake die pop them inside the hampsters mouths

13.  Stamp your sentiment and glue inside the card

Black Friday Release Samples (Part 2)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from the brand new Black Friday Release Bundle.

There are 16 new pet designs in this release. And for a limited time the individual dies are on sale at 30% off. Or you can purchase the entire release for $99.95 and you will save 60%.

For the next several days, we will be featuring samples from the design team using these new dies. We wanted to  give you some creative ideas for using the dies. So let's get started with the cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is from Pam MacKay. She used the new Furever Friends die to create this cute and festive Christmas card. To draw your eye to the sweet puppy image, she cut a nested scallop square and turned it to form a diamond shape.
His little neck scarf was cut in a striped designer paper to match the Christmas present. To complete her sweet puppy card she added the Merry Christmas phrase.
Maybe you know someone who is getting a puppy for Christmas. A card like this would be a great accompaniment.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. She is showing the Happy Hamster die on her card. This playful little guy is having a fun time exercising on his spinner wheel.
She created a nighttime scene for her bundle of fur because that's when they seem to be most active. She used the stitched circle die for the moon.
I just love the punny sentiment. It was heat embossed in white on navy cardstock.
That's our samples for today.  I hope the team has given you some inspiration and new ideas for using these dies.  Stop by again tomorrow for more team samples.
