Hello! This is Sukie and today I'm back with another card featuring the new Slimline dies. With Mother's Day right around the I decided to create a simple but elegant card. The floral papers were definitely the inspiration for my card!
First, I cut out my card and 2 layers with the Rounded Rectangles Slimline die set. All of the die cuts are from the Spring Bloom Cottage die set which has so many elements that can be used separately as I did on this card. I used some card stock along with Oxide Inks to shade the pieces. The 3 circles are from the Circle Set die set.To create my card, I layered the rounded rectangles on my card base and then evenly spaced the circles directly on top.Wednesday, May 05, 2021

Happy Birthday!
Hello! This is Sukie and today I have a project to share for my design team post. Today's card follows the Throwback Tuesday theme featuring the fun and festive Party Animal Bus as the focal point of my card. On Throwback Tuesdays the design team has an opportunity to use die sets from previous releases and this one was sitting on my craft desk just waiting to be used. My card also showcases the new Slimline dies.
I used some cloud themed paper and cut it with the Nested Stitched Rectangle Slimline die. Next, I affixed the hill cut from the Hills Slimline die set on the bottom edge of my card. It looked a little plain so I adhered another layer for a bit of dimension. I was inspired to do this by another Cottage Cutz design team member, Pam. You can check out her super cute layered hill card here. The adorable party animal bus was placed on top of the hill with a couple extra balloons floating above. I heat embossed the happy birthday sentiment directly on my card base.Sunday, May 02, 2021
Home Sweet Home
Hi!
It's Anja here. I have a Spring card for you today. I combined this lovely cottage with different slimline dies.
For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Spring Bloom Cottage, Nested Stitched Rectangles Slimline, Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline, Grass Slimline, Clouds Slimline),
- Distress Inks,
- white card base (9,5x22 cm),
- violet card stock for die cuts,
- white card stock for die cuts,
- silver pigment ink,
- black pigment ink,
- alphabet stamps,
- acrylic block,
- paper glue.
First I cut and colored the cottage.
Next I did the background. I made a paper stencil with one of the clouds slimline dies and used it to make cloudy sky. I colored directly on the scalloped stitched rectangle. After the clouds I stamped the sentiment.
Then I cut and colored the grass out of the second largest nested stitched rectangle.
I also cut the largest nested stitched rectangle, this time from violet card stock.
Before I go I invite you to The Scrapping Cottage online store to check The National Scrapbook day Sale.
And that's all from me for today. Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.
Anja Z.

Interactive Slimline Birthday Card
Happy Friday! It's Jeanne today and I have a fun, interactive card featuring the new Slimline dies and dies from the Safari release. Both releases are on sale right now for a limited time at the online store. The interactive part of this card are the peeking windows from the Lift Flap Slimline die that allow for a surprise. In fact, this card does not even open up - the "inside" of the card is under the windows!
To start, I cut a lion, zebra and baby gorilla along with leaves and sentiment from the Safari release dies. I cut oval Windows Slimline die set and stamped my sentiment on that.I set this all aside to construct the card itself. After picking some safari themed paper I adhered it to a light weight cardstock using a self adhesive sheet. I wanted to use this for my flaps but the paper was too thin and had a pattern on the back. By adhering these together it gives the flaps a bit of weight and a solid back side.
Using the largest Nested Rectangle I cut a card base from brown cardstock. Since this card doesn't open like a traditional card, this IS my card - it will not be glued to side or top opening base. I used the third largest rectangle to cut a white panel for underneath my window flaps. This rectangle is just slightly smaller than the Lift Flap panel.
Using coordinating paper, I cut two 2 1/2 inch squares for behind my top and bottom windows and glued those to the white panel. To get them in place I drew very light pencil lines where the window opening would be. I also used this to place my "Happy Birthday" sentiment. I used a slightly off-kilter sentiment so if it weren't lined up perfectly, it wouldn't matter.I stacked the panels and glued them to the card base. When gluing the elements to the flaps take care not to overlap the hinge side. You can have elements hang off the outer edges and the windows will still open. The lion is popped up using foam dots. The other two animals are glued to the the top and bottom inside windows. Finally, I added some bronze "photo corners" to my flaps panel.
I hope you've enjoyed my card today. Interactive cards are always delightful to give (and receive.) These Lift Flaps can be adapted to any theme to make your card extra fun!
