Just for You

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have another simple card for you today. I used this cute puppy die and instead of a letter I put donut in his hands.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Puppy Love Letter, Love Latte Donut),
- Distress Inks (Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Black Soot, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Aged Mahogany) and Oxides (Worn Lipstick),
- color spray (white, pink),
- white card base (10,5x15 cm),
- water color paper for background (10x14,5 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- black pen,
- heat gun,
- black pigment ink,
- sentiment stamp,
- acrylic block,
- scissors,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the puppy. I used black pen for the eyes.

Then I cut the paper for background and colored it with Distress Oxide ink.

I sprayed white color over it and dried it with heat gun.

I did the same with pink spray.

Then I stamped the sentiment on the paper and cut it with scissors.

When I had all the pat made I assembled the card and glued everything. And my card was made.

This is all from me for today. Spring release is still waiting for you in the store for 25 % off.

Have a nice Sunday.

Peeking Bunny (New Die)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a new release of 36 Spring dies in the online store. There are a variety of designs so perfect for Easter or Spring cardmaking. Take a look in the store you definitely won't be disappointed. And, they are currently on a 25% off sale.

For my card today I am using the new Peeking Egg Bunny and the Bunny Kisses and Easter Wishes dies. He is just the cutest little thing peeking up from the Easter egg.  Just begging to be placed on a card design (lol)!!! So let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Step 1: I started my card this week with a sketch. I am using the Splitcoaststampers weekly sketch #738. It has lots of layers and the design was a unique one that I thought I would tackle.

I first decided to figure out what I was going to do for panels 2, 3 and 4. After studying the sketch, I figured I could use a square die and cut it in half for element 2 and 3. Then layer 4 would be the complete square. Tried out my idea first on white paper and when it worked I cut the actual panels in the card stock I was using. Here is a photo that shows what I did.
Used the largest of the Stitched Square dies.
Then I cut it in half. Now I have the perfect shape for this sketch.

I selected my designer paper then colors that coordinate with the pumpkin shade. I chose a medium purple and a lighter green. I liked the whimsical appeal of the designer paper. I thought it would work well with this sweet little peeking bunny.

Card base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Designer Paper: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

Next up was cutting my bunny. I used a naturals white cardstock. I like the little speckles in it. Works well for bunnies.  Cut the egg in a medium blue and the flowers in pink and purple.
Step 2: All the card elements are cut and I am ready to start assembling. First I attached panels 2 & 3 to the designer paper.
Attached the image panel with double sided tape. Then I cut the panels to form the straight edge per the sketch.
After the white image panel was attached, I decided I should sponge some background clouds. I laid the stencil on the panel and sponged with tumbled glass distress ink.

I attached the sweet little bunny with dimensional adhesive. I thought it would look better for him to be lifted slightly of the panel.
Now for element 5 of this sketch. I didn't want to use a piece of cardstock or ribbon then a spark went off. I thought I could cut the Bunny phrase and stamp the word "hugs" for a different approach to element 5. I should have planned this out better but sometimes my cards are designs in progress. It was a bit difficult to stamp after the bunny was attached. But with the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig, I pulled it off.
Then I attached the Bunny phrase. It was cut in purple cardstock and the same shade of purple ink for my sentiment.
To complete my card, I attached this panel to the card base. And then as another afterthought, I added a couple of patches of grass under the egg. I also sponged the bottom of the image panel with ink that matched the grass.
Well, that's it for me for this week. See you next Saturday.

Happy St Patrick's Day - Again!

Happy Friday!   It's Jeanne posting today with another St. Patrick's Day card.  This one use the St. Patrick's Day Phrase and More and the St. Patrick's Day Cupcake dies.
I wanted to do something a bit different so I went for a stand-up easel card.
I started with an 8 1/2 x 5 1/5 inch piece of green card stock scored in the middle.
On the bottom section I very lightly drew a line across it at the 2 1/8 inch mark (halfway between the score line and the bottom).  The line should be erased after die cutting.
I placed the third largest stitched circle die equal distance from each side with the pencil line halfway up and down (centered on my pencil line).  I did not measure - I just eyeballed it.  Then I ran it through my Big Shot using a small plate I have.
This cuts out just half the circle.  I then scored each side from the circle to the edge.
When you fold, it gives you the easel.
Next I cut my pieces from gold, green, black and white.
And I assembled them.
I cut three panels from green, black and patterned paper.  The green is 5 1/2 x 2 1/8 inches.  The others are 1/8 inch smaller in both directions.
I added the black panel on top of the green.  I also had to snip the Happy St Patrick's Day apart to fit on my panel.
And finally I put it all together.  Although the card looks a little complicated, it is actually quite easy.

He is Risen!

Good Morning Everyone!

It is Pam creating with you on the blog today!
Just a quick reminder that our new Spring Release dies are on sale today for 25% off!  Don't miss out on this fantastic savings!
I have started making my Easter cards.  And today I am using one of the new release dies that is absolutely gorgeous and the true meaning of Easter.

Design Steps:
Use a stencil to create the sunburst.  I used Tim Holtz inks and blender tool to add the color
Use the second to the largest Pierced Rectangle die to cut out the stencil sunburst

Use the He is Risen Cross die and cut them out of white card stock
Use a light blue A2 card base.  Cut a piece of light yellow card stock 4 x 5 1/4 and run it through an embossing folder
Glue the embossed yellow card stock to the blue card base.  Pop up the sunburst onto the card on the left side of the card front
Glue the He is Risen to the front of the card
Pop up the cross on the left side of the card and your card is complete
