CottageCutz Happy Birthday Kitty

Good morning, and happy Monday to ya!  It's Lorie here today with a cute little kitty card that's just purrrrfect for celebrating a happy birthday for someone special.  This adorable kitten was cut out using colored card stock, and the edges were sponged to give it dimension.  After sponging, I added some stripes to the kitten using Copic markers, and the facial features were all colored using Copics as well.  For the white tip on the tail, I simply used a white gel pen and colored in the top part of the tail.
The edges of the card are hand crocheted, and you can drop by my blog, The ThINKin' Spot to find out more about how I crocheted directly onto the paper. I did include some faux stitching around the plaid panel.  I threaded some seam binding through the picket fence, and I distressed the edges of the circle frame.  The happy birthday sentiment and the sweet little face on this gal both come from Peachy Keen Stamps

Here's a closer look at this cutie!  I used the following CottageCutz dies for this card (just click on the picture to go directly to The Scrapping Cottage for all the info and pricing):

I hope you've enjoyed my little project today.  I sure enjoyed creating it for you!  I'm so happy you could join us today here on The Scrapping Cottage Blog.  May you have a blessed and beautiful day filled with lots of happy crafting!

CottageCutz Zinnia Flower & Video Tutorial

Hello everyone Cheryl here with the CottageCutz Zinnia Flower from the Spring Release. I love this flower and wanted to share a video on how I made them super easy!
Supplies used:
Cryogen White Card Stock
Glimmer Mist /Tattered Rose
Glimmer Mist /Pink Bubblegum
Helmar/Scrap Dots(glue)
Tweezers/scissors

3 of the middle size large flower
3 of the small flower, this will create the big flowers, to create the small ones just use 3 small and do the same steps.
All I did was spray the Glimmer mist, and set aside for a moment, then dab them to remove excess glimmer mist. Then I scrunched them up and glued them using the wonderful scrap dots(my favorite) then set aside to dry fully before using on project.

There are sooo many possibilities with this CottageCutz Zinnia Layered Flower and  I love it!!!! You can add pearls, brads ,buttons, glitter, beads or whatever you would like to the centers of these. They are perfect for cards, layouts, albums, or any altered item of your choice :)

I hope you enjoy my video, and thank you for looking!!

Hugs to all,

Lilac Mom Card

Spring has sprung at Cottage Cutz with a great new Spring Collection. This week I am doing a MOM card using the Cottage Cutz Flower Cluster, along with the Cottage Cutz Magnolia Doily die.
This cluster of flowers looks like a cluster of Lilacs. The Cottage Cutz die comes with two size flower clusters and two leaf/stem clusters. You can mix and match to create any style cluster. I used a combination of Stickles and Glossy Accents on the edge of the doily. This gave a raised high gloss edge. The flowers were cut from three different shades of purple card stock and the leaves two shades of green. Than I used Copic markers to tint the flowers and leaves. I liked the Purple and Turquoise larger Rhinestones that I had to use on the bottom of the card. . . . . so I used a #B05 Blue and #V17 Purple Copic marker to tint the crystal mini rhinestones in the center of the flowers. **reminder that because or the reflection on the base of the rhinestone you do not need to tint the entire rhinestone just three quarters of the top. (this makes it easy to tint a rhinestone without coloring ink on the finished card). In this case I tinted  half of one side in blue and the other about a third in purple. Than switched up some of the color more or less on each jewel. This made them random in color.  The photo doesn't show well, but I tinted the edge of the card in purple to match the vertical ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Spring.   Barry

Cottage Cutz Lady Bug Gift Box

Greetings friends and bloggers.  Today I wanted to share with you this gift box I made for Cottage Cutz Die Cuts from The Scrapping Cottage.  I used the Ladybug and the Daisy Doily Dies.
This Ladybug is awesome.  So cute and so easy to put together.  All I did was cut the body with black card stock and the wings with red card stock.  I put some foam dimensional adhesive on the back of the wings and mounted it on the body.    My daisies are made with a punch and the centers are Martha Stewart Flocking.

Here you can see a close up of these pretty Ladybugs which are "Good Luck" by the way! The Daisy doily was used as the base for this flower and bug arrangement.  I cut it down approximately 3/4 of the way and applied it to the top of the box.

Here's the corner Ladybug at the bottom right of the box.

Surprise!!!!  Now here is what is inside the box.  I bet you weren't expecting these little sweeties in here were you.  How could I resist not making something so cute with this die.

They are paper clips.  All you have to do is assemble the Ladybug like I described above then cut one extra black body.  sandwich your paper clip between the Ladybug and the body piece and glue together-so easy and so cute.

I die cut a little leaf to place behine the Ladybug to make it look like the Ladybug was crawling on a leaf.  Here are the dies from Cottage Cutz that I used in this project.  Your can find them here:

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my project today.  I am so in love with this ladybug die that you will probably see it throughout the summer in my projects.  I love it!!!

Easter Blessings

Hello friends!  What a beautiful sunny day we are having in Massachusetts!  Hope you are having a beautiful Spring day!  Today's card features this adorable Bunnies die and Filigree Egg die.  The bunny was cut from white cardstock and colored with Copics.  I cut some ovals for the smaller eggs and wrapped them with twine then added a few bows to finish the card.

Happy Easter tomorrow!  Happy Spring!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Hogs & Kisses and Happy Wishes!

Good morning!  It's Lorie here today, and I've been playing with some of my CottageImpressions stamps, right along with my new CottageCutz Dies.  Talk about a PERFECT pairing!!  Being a "farm girl", I've always been partial to these adorable On The Farm CottageImpressions stamps.  I used the Pig Stamp, and added the Hogs & Kisses sentiment, which makes this card usable for many different occasions, just by personalizing what I put on the inside.  This sweet image is framed using one of the new dies from the March 2012 release at The Scrapping Cottage.  This CottageCutz 4x4 Magnolia Doily die is a staple for any avid paper crafter, as the possibilities with this die are absolutely endless!

The thought of a pig framed with the lacey edge of this Magnolia die, and lace ribbon just makes me smile.  That's what I love about this craft.  If you can imagine it, then it's possible.  There is no right or wrong, because if it makes you happy, or makes someone else smile, then it can't get any more right than that!

This precious little piggie was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copic markers.  The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye Life Of The Party from their Lime Twist collection.  Both the lace and gingham ribbon are from Stampin' Up!.

Thanks so much for dropping by today!  Hogs & Kisses to you, and HAPPY CRAFTING!
