Happy Haunting

Fall is definitely here and with that comes thought of Halloween and Haunting. I'm a huge fan of Halloween so when I saw these new dies from Cottage Cutz, I knew that I'd end up getting all of them. From haunted houses to pumpkins, lanterns to witches, these dies are perfect to personalize any of your Hallween crafts.

Hi everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a "spook"tacular card using the Haunted House Border die. I love the detail in this set and wanted to create a background scene for the little My Little Shoebox bats. I die cut the images from some great Mica Metallic Paper from Paper Temptress to give a little sparkle to the card. Hauntingly delish right?

Isn't that Haunted House beyond amazing??? Love Love Love it!!! Not only can it be used as a border, but you can create great scenes with it. I love versatility when it comes to dies, and Cottage Cutz dies give so much of that. If you haven't seen the Halloween dies yet, make sure you take a look. Also I see some fantastic Christmas ones as well that are simply stunning.

Thanks so much for stopping in today. Make sure you leave a comment with all of the projects on the blog. We love to hear what you have to say.

Until next time

"Witch" Way

Good morning friends!  I have a Halloween card to share with you today.

I used the Spooky Sign post as well as the cat and bat from the Witch Castle Door.  The background paper is from a Recollections paper pad called Midnight Magic.  The journal tag looks like a menu sign when paired with the Spooky Sign Post..  I used some stamps from the Fall-o-ween set by KAndrew Designs.  I hope you like my card!  Have a GREAT weekend!

More Happy Halloween

Good morning, happy Friday, and Welcome to The Scrapping Cottage Blog!  Lorie here today to share yet another wonderful Halloween card with you.  I swear that I never get tired of creating Halloween themed cards.  It's my favorite holiday to decorate for!  Today I have a card made with several Cottage Cutz dies.
For this card, I used the Haunted House Silhouette, Jack-O-Lantern w/Hat, Haunted Tree, and the Lollipop Alphabet Cottage Cutz dies.  The beautiful patterned paper is from My Little Shoebox.  This is the Trick or Treat Starry Night paper, and it's double sided.   As you can see, I used both sides of this beautiful paper for this card.  The pennant is from the My Little Shoebox Trick or Treat 3-D Roll Up Flower punch sheet.  I just popped the pennants off of the sheet, punched some holes in them, and strung them on some twine.  Everything was cut with colored card stock, except the Jack-0-Lantern, and he was cut with white card stock and colored with Copic markers.  I sponged the tree with some Tim Holtz vintage photo ink, and the haunted house silhouette was sponged with white craft ink to make them both pop.

Thanks for dropping by today.  As always it's wonderful to have you, and I wish you a blessed day and happy stamping/scrapping!

Girl's Night Out

I think it's so fun to create a project that has a little surprise about it - this one actually has a couple! I used the Elegant Witches Legs in a different colorway, so it is perfect for a girlie card, rather than a Halloween one. Next, I used an arrow from the Airplane with Banner and Sign to point to the secret tag. The frame from Gothic Frame with Witch was added underneath my lettering to act as a tab to pull out the hidden message. It's so fun to challenge yourself to see how many different ways you can use you Cottage Cutz Dies!

Happy Day!!!

Today is hump day of the week and I hope all of you have a HAPPY DAY! I created this card with the  Airplane with Banner Die. Having a little boy in the house you know I had to make two airplanes...one for my card and one for the card he made beside me during scrap time. What precious times.

I also used the My Little Shoebox matching patterned paper ....it all blended just perfect. Don't you love it.

Remember to have a Happy Day and I'll see you soon.

You're a Peach!

Hi Everyone! Happy Tuesday! Angelica here, and today I'm sharing a pretty CAS (clean and simple) card showing you just how much of a punch this cute Peach die packs!

{click to enlarge}

This die comes with two clear face stamps by Peachy Keen Stamps already, but did you know you can use any 1-1/8" - 1-3/8" PK face on the peach too? I used the Princess Faces (1-3/8" face in the assortment) for my card today!

After I shaded the peach in a peachy-pink ink (Colorbox), I used chalk to shade her cheeks and used a white gel pen for the whites in her eyes.

The "peach" stickers are from My Little Shoebox and I used "Peapod" twine from The Twinery.

Hope you enjoyed the project today, be sure to stop by Barry's Challenge from Saturday and play along for a chance to win!!

Halloween Mini Album & Video

Hello everyone and Happy Monday to all! Today I'm super excited to share my 1st completed Halloween Album!
My Chipboard Mini House Halloween Album was designed for The Scrapping Cottage using the Halloween release Cottage Cutz die's from the Halloween release, and they are all sooo DARLING! I really had a lot of fun designing this album.
Most design paper is from My Little Shoebox and so are the Alphabet Stickers as well :)

These are the 1st set of pages on the inside :)
I LOVE designing albums, and this one I have to say was SUPER FUN! I love Halloween and just LOVE all the Cottage Cutz Halloween Dies that were just released here.
Dies I used:

2nd Set of pages
3rd set of pages

I tied my album together with Satin Ribbon and added bows to the ties, most of the ribbon I used is from RRR. I also used the fringed trim that was sent to me in a swap.

The tree I airbrushed with Copics & used Silver Lustre Card Stock.I will try to do a video to show how fun and easy this was to do.

Tags are super fun to make and I LOVE dusting the edges, I think I forgot to mention that in my video below. I did dust the edges of the Happy Halloween tag too.

My Youtube Video showing my album!

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!

Happy Halloween Treat Box

It's Sept 11 : I just want to say that even here in Singapore,
we remember 9/11 . Our hearts and prayers are with America and all our American friends. Praying for  worldwide safety and appreciating the  resilience of America in moving forward with hope and confidence.
--------------------------------------------------------

Today , I want to share a quick treat box/bag project which can be mass produced in quick time  .
I have decorated both sides of my box to show the scale of some our Halloween dies
on this type of box .
My assembled Accucut box size is about 6x4" .
You may prefer to use inexpensive , store bought  ready made bag/boxes .

For this side of the box , I have used the 4x6 Haunted House Border die
and I diecut the design using self adhesive cardstock to spend less time applying adhesive.

I went to town with some stickles here - Black Distressed Stickles - for the rough texture , Blue and Green stickles too for added sparkle and color.

For the other side of my box , I used the Spooky Frame with Owl .

I love using patterned paper to die cut in the colors that I prefer for the project .
Then to add depth I simply ink in the colors I want - in this case I used Walnut Stain distress ink . A little Black distressed stickles and I'm done .

All the patterned papers used here
are from the latest Trick or Treat collection from My Little Shoebox.

Thank you so much for all your comments on our projects here.
We so appreciate your feedback
 Until next time ,

Scrapping Cottage Challenge #05

Hello everyone, time flies and here we are again with a new challenge. Thanks to all those who participated in last months challenge.

Our random winner for August is. . .Drum Roll. . . . ?????

Entry #5

Theresa P.!!!!!

Congratulations to you, Theresa!  You've won a $25.00 gift certificate to The Scrapping Cottage.  Please email scrappingcottage@cox.net to claim your prize.

For this months challenge I have created a motion card,  you can create a card with any type of motion. it can be hand drive like this card or something can simply move when the card has been picked up. You can use any Cottage Cutz die from any season or collection. As you can see I used a Cottage Cutz Halloween and a Cottage Cutz Everyday Alphabet.

Here I used the Cottage Cutz Halloween Stacked Frogs die. As you can see, there is a frog with a witch hat on.   . . @#$^&*$#@ Hocus Pocus. . .there is a second frog.
The motion in the card is the second frog popping up. The hat you see on the first frog is really on the second frog.
I mounted the second frog onto a stick. . in this case a small emery board. I mounted it in a horizontal strap of paper, the the emery board can slide up and down as needed. You do have to cover both sides of the emery board with paper.
I know the huge question is why an emery board. Because it is tapered and strong. As you can see above I used a strap of paper to create the channel for the emery board to slide. Also notice the channel fits the width of the emery board but slightly higher space. The channel should fit the width of the emery board at the thinner 1/3rd end of the stick and as you slide or raise the stick it is harder to slide because the channel space is to small . .so the channel paper sides push out and use the extra paper above to create the space to slide. This will allow the stick (second frog) to be pushed up and stay up when you need it to. Than just slightly pull back down and it will release that tight grip and slide down and back behind the bottom frog .
The bottom front of the card was mounted on a slight bow of paper. The biggest issue with a slide cards can be the item that is sliding sometimes gets caught. Rather than a flat raised area at the bottom of my card I bowed  the bottom of the card so the second frog would not get caught and there is plenty of room.
FI  also used the Cottage Cutz LOLLOPOP Alphabet die for the lettering on the card.

WE will choose one random winner and you will win a $25 Gift Certificate to the Scrapping Cottage! Link below and thank you for all your creativity.

Friends and My Little Shoebox Dies

There are "sew" many great products on the market using sewing machines, spools and stitching. From papers to embellishments and everything in between. One of my favorites is the sweet Sewing Machine and Dress Form die from Cottage Cutz. This little 4 x 4 die is perfect for all those crafty friends occasions. The detail is amazing and super fun to embellish just how you see fit.

Hi Everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a card I created using the Sewing Machine and Dress Form My Little Shoebox die. I absolutely love the little spools that come with this die and had to add a few extras around the sentiment. I topped it off with a few pearls and some Stickles to give it a little extra OOOMPH. Not that this sweet die needs it. So without further adieu...

A little distressing on the edges of this card go perfectly with the quilt like placement of the My Little Shoebox papers. What do you think? Super sweet right? If you haven't taken a look at the Dies that go with your My Little Shoebox collections, take a look. There are so many beautiful ones to choose from.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Make sure you leave a comment and let me know what you think. All of us really appreciate your comments. Until next time

Having Fun With the Halloween Dies

Hello everyone!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  So here are a few cards I have made with the new dies.  They are so much fun!

You can see the Halloween Dies here!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Halloween!

Good morning!!  Oh my goodness, has the weather ever taken a turn for the better!!  Warm, beautiful, sunny days and cool crisp nights really have me in the mood for creating Fall cards, and that's exactly what I've been doing.  The Halloween release at The Scrapping Cottage is one of my all time favorites, and my card today was made with one of the newest dies.  This cute little Witch Samara die was wonderful to work with!  I cut all the pieces with white card stock, then cut an extra dress out of patterned paper.  I like to "base" all my pieces with color, then assemble them and add the shading and details after they are all in one piece.  All the artwork on this card was colored with Copic markers.
I found this wonderful Happy Halloween paper in a DCWV Mattestack, and this cute little witch fit just perfectly around the Happy Halloween sentiment.    Check out all the wonderful dies in this new Halloween collection.  They're shipping now, and you're definitely going to want these for ALL your Halloween projcets and cards!!

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope today brings you many, many blessings, including some happy stamping and scrapping!!!
