It's a Princess Party

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today with a card featuring some images from the new release of Lil' Bluebird Designs stamps and dies at the Scrapping Cottage.  These adorable stamps and dies are new line being carried at the online store.  Be sure to check them out.

I was attracted to this set in particular.  I think it is because I have two daughters and although they are grown now, it brings back memories of princess parties when they were little.  It is so perfect for a young girl!

I started by coloring the princess and pony using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  These markers come with three shades of the same color in one marker and have bullet nibs.

There are two photos as I used quite a few on this card because I wanted my pony to be rainbow colored.  It reminds me of My Little Pony so I had to use a rainbow!

Next I cut the castle from white cardstock using the Fairytale Castle die.  I used Distress Oxide inks and blending brushes to color it.  I used the Citrus marker to color the windows.

For my background I used two of the slimline dies - the Clouds and the Hills Slimline dies.  I cut stencils using the clouds and then stenciled a sky on a white A2 panel.

For the grass, I cut panels 4 1/2 inches wide so that I could adjust where I wanted the curves.  I trimmed the sides flush with the sides of the panel.

After I adhered both layers of grass I stamped my sentiment in the upper left.

I decided to use the cloud with the castle.  Originally I was just going to nest the castle in the grass but I thought this looked more magical.

The princess is popped up using foam dots and I added some sequins for sparkle.  After all, what's a princess card without sparkle?

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you have a fun and creative weekend!

1.  Cut a piece of white card stock 3 1/4 x 8 1/4.  Ink the top of the card stock with a navy blue and the bottom of the piece with green.  Cut the mountains and trees using the using the Mountain and Tree Slimline die.  I cut it on green and brown card stock
2.  Stamp all of your little pieces using a black dye ink and the Camping Critters stamp set.  Color the pieces with Prismacolor pencils.  I also used Gamsol for blending.   Cut the pieces out using the coordinating Camping Critters dies.
3.  Glue the mountains to the sponged card stock then add the tree line.  Glue that panel to a white slimline card base

You Warm My Heart!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I have a card to share for my design team post.  There's a new brand under the Scrapping Cottage line known as Lil' Bluebird Designs.  Currently there are 16 new stamp sets with matching dies and they are all on sale!  Today I'm showcasing one of the new sets on my card.

I was immediately drawn to the Coffee Time Stamp and Die set.  I stamped the images on watercolor paper and used my watercolor pencils to create a soft image for a rustic look.  The oval was cut out with the Pierced Oval set using a coffee stained paper.
The paper is from my stash and was the inspiration for my die cuts.  Once I selected my paper it was easy to pick out the coordinating watercolor pencils.
To create my card, I layered the oval on top of the patterned paper.  I placed the sentiment near the splattered coffee inside the oval and the coffee cup was adhered underneath.
Next, I added the disposable style coffee cup on the right side of the oval and affixed the treats in the center.
The heart was the perfect finishing accent on this sentimental card.  I just love how the stamped images coordinate with the patterned paper.
Here are the products used on my card, available in the store:

Live Laugh Love

Happy Monday!  It's Jeanne with today's edition of the blog.  I have a tonal card featuring a wonderful new background slimline die and an older seasonal die.  I am enjoying these new slimline dies because they are allowing me to use dies I already have in fresh, new ways!  The new slimline release is also on sale right now for a limited time.

This card was quite easy to make and would look lovely in any color.  All you need are three shades of the same color.  I chose a light, medium and dark green.

I used the lightest of the greens as my base and cut the trellis from the Lattice die in white.  I used self adhesive backing paper on this as I thought it would be easier to adhere than trying to glue it down.

The sentiment used three shades, each word becoming progressively darker.

For my flowers I used a Christmas die - Seasons Floral 2!  I love that this die can be used for other occasions by switching out the colors.  You would never guess that these flowers are for Christmas when cut in white and light green!  This card would make a lovely engagement or wedding card.

Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a wonderful week!

Awesome Chick

Hi!

It's Anja here for my Sunday post. While I'm still waiting for the new slimline dies and stamp sets to arrive, I'm still making cards with cute Country Farm release dies. This time I made a smaller card with a cute chick.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Cowgirl Chick, Nested Stitched Rectangles Slimline),

- Distress Inks and Oxides,

- yellow, orange, red, light brown, dark brown, green and white card stock for die cuts,

- black pen,

- white ink,

- dark brown foam,

- black pigment ink,

- sentiment stamp,

- acrylic block,

- scissors,

- plastic stencil (clouds),

- baby wipe,

- scoring board,

- adhesive foam pads,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the chick. This time I used colored card stock and just emphasized the edges with Distress Inks. I also cut the hay from foam to give it some dimension.

Next I cut the rectangle and made a card base out of it.

Then I colored the card stock with Distress Oxide ink and added the clouds with a plastic stencil and baby wipe.

Last I stamped the sentiment and cut it out.

When I had all the pieces ready I adhered the chick on the card base. I used adhesive foam pads for the chick and two layers of foam for the hay to give it more dimension. Last I added the sentiment and my card was done.

And that's all from me for today. Before I go I want to invite you to The Scrapping Cottage online store to check the new Lil' Bluebird Designs release and Christmas in July Sale.

Have a nice week and see you again on Sunday.

Anja Z.
