Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  This is Sukie and I have a fun card to share on this New Year's Day created with the new Arctic Animals die release.  I combined several of the new dies on one card!
I wanted to create a snowy scene for the sweet Arctic Animals so I went with a blue and gray theme. The fun sentiment is from the Scrappy Moms (retired) Farm Fresh stamp set which was perfect for my card.
I shaded all of my die cuts with some Oxide Inks and also used the inks for the two hand cut pieces at the bottom of my card base.
The scene was built with the hand cut hills and Snowy Mountains. Next, the Arctic Snowy Trees were tucked in behind the mountains.
The puffin from the Arctic Birds set was placed in front of the mountains and the Baby Walrus was added on the left hand side of my card.  The husky is from the Husky w/Sled die set.
The Arctic Baby Fox was tucked in next to the husky and the penguin from the Arctic Penguins & Igloo die set.
My card was finished off with the sentiment flag which was trimmed to fit in the upper right hand corner.
Here are the die sets used on my card, available in the store:

Have a happy and prosperous New Year!

- black cardstock: 4 x 5.2" (10 x 13,2 cm)
- gold metallic cardstock
- glitter paper
- texture paste – gold
- snow stencil
- palette knife
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape

Cut the sparkling wine glasses out of translucent (vellum) paper. Cut the remaining pieces out of glitter paper in gold and green.

Use a black cardstock for a background.
Apply the gold texture paste to the background with a snow stencil and a palette knife.

I wish you plenty of happiness in the coming year. May all your dreams come true.

Happy 2020!

Hi!

It's Anja here for my last post in 2019. Today I have no coloring project for you. I made little tags you could use for decoration for your New Year's dinner.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Ugly But Cute Sweater, Sweetheart Doilies, Circle Set, Sugar & Cream Alphabet, Expressions Happy),
- craft, white and dark red card stock,
- adhesive foam pads,
- paper glue.

First I cut two sweaters and some decorative elements, one set from white and the other from craft cardstock. I adhered all the pieces with glue.

Next I cut two sets of larger circles, two sets of smaller circles and two doilies.

Then I cut the sentiment and numbers from dark red cardstock.

I adhered the circles together. I used adhesive foam pads to add the sweaters.

And my project was done.

This is all from me for this year. You can also check the online store for some After Christmas sales

I wish you all pleasant New Year's celebrations and all the best in 2020.

Have a nice day and see you again in a week.

Anja Z.

Husky Rings in the New Year

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog. I hope you all had a great Christmas.

There are some big sales going on in the online store. The after Christmas sale has savings of up to 80% on CottageCutz designs. And, the new Artic Animal release is on sale with savings of 25%. There are 13 new designs in this release and each one is so versatile for a variety of card making and giving occasions.

Today, I am featuring the Husky w/Sled and I used it to make a New Year card. Sometimes I like to think out of the box for different ways to use the CottageCutz dies.

I usually make a few New Years cards and then send them out to friends or family. I select different people each year and send it in place of a Christmas card. Just to change things up a bit !!!

So let's get started with some details on how I created this card.

Design Steps:
I cut my husky and sled and used different colors of cardstock for the images. You could also cut in white cardstock and then color with the medium of your choice.
To make my card a bit festive and help celebrate the new year, I used the Ring in the New Year die, it's from the 2018 Christmas release, for the champagne, champagne glasses and happy new year sentiment. The champagne glasses are cut with vellum and then I added gold glitter cardstock for the champagne.

I decided to emboss a snowy background for the image panel. After all the husky is a sled puller in the Artic! Just don't know how many of them will be pulling champagne and glasses (LOL)!!!

embossed panel: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Now that my elements are cut and embossed, I am ready to start card assembly.
I started with the husky and sled. I used dimensional adhesive to give them a slight lift off the snowy background.
Next, I added the champagne and glasses. I also used dimensional adhesive to secure them.
I added the Happy New Year sentiment. Then I decided to cut a couple of streamers from the same die. It helped to fill in the space.
To finish off my card, I added the image panel to a red cardstock base.

Card Base: 4 1/2" x 5 3/4"

Well, that's it for me for this week. I hope I have given you a fresh idea for a way to use this new die. Happy New Year Scrapping Cottage friends!

Winter Birthday Card

Happy Friday Cottage Cutz fans!  It's Jeanne today with a clean and simple card for a winter birthday.
This card uses the Polar Bear Fishing from the new Arctic Animals release.  I started by cutting the pieces from white cardstock.
I used Distress Oxide inks and sponge daubers to colors the pieces.  Ink colors used - Hickory Smoke, Tumbled Glass, Abandoned Coral, Bundled Sage and Vintage Photo.
For the background,  blended several DO inks together and then splattered it with water and white paint to mimic snowfall.
I used the third largest of the Stitched Squares dies to cut the "diamond" background.
My card base is a top folding A2 card.  In order to center the diamond, I very lightly drew lines at the halfway point both vertically and horizontally.
After gluing down the diamond, I erased the lines.  I then stamped the sentiment on a strip of blue cardstock 1/2 inch high by 3 3/4 inch wide.  I used my scissors to fishtail the end.
I wrapped bakers twines around the card and used foam dots to pop up the sentiment over the twine.
I wanted the fish to glisten a bit so I added Wink of Stella to them.

This die is super cute and very versatile.  The Arctic Animals release and select others are on sale right now for a limited time in the online store.  Be sure to stop by to get your favorites before they're gone!
