CottageCutz Holiday Cardinal

Greetings everyone.  It's Carol here and today I have a card made with the beautiful Holiday Cardinal from CottageCutz.  This die is gorgeous.

This card used Spellbinders Floral Oval, Large Oval, and Holly Motif Corners.  Martha Stewart Holly punch around the page and branch punch.  The plain oval die cut was embossed as well as all the white background.
The berries on the background of the CottageCutz die were cut on red metallic paper.  The flowers are recollection and were sent to me by my friend Pam.  Thank you Pam!   The leaves are the "Greenery" die from CottageCut.
Below you will find a picture of the dies I used.  Thanks for visiting today.  I really appreciate it.

3 Fun Cards to Share

Good Morning friends!  Today I have 3 cards to share with you.  (I know, don't faint!)  I will start with my favorite card first.  It took me quite some time to think of how I wanted to showcase this CottageCutz Holly Jolly Legs die.  Once I thought of a clothesline nothing else would do.  So I went to my trusty google to search for clothespin images.  I should back up a little.  First I cut the legs from different colored papers, assembled, colored and inked them to add dimension.  Then I found the perfect snowy sky paper for my background.  Now here is when I searched google for clothespin images.  I found the ones I liked, printed and cut them out.  I made the snowy hills by cutting some white cardstock and adding lots of glitter.  I finished the card with a red bow and a silver bell.  Hope you like it! Oops!  I just realized I forgot to add the buckles to Santa's boots.  I think it still looks fine.
My next card I used the CottageCutz Red Bird Wreath die.  My son brought home some adhesive copper that was being tossed so I decided to try it out.  It was a little difficult to work with, but I kind of like how it turned out!  It is very different than what I am used to but I think it is good to step outside your box and try something new.
Finally I used CottageCutz Mistletoe and Holly die to make my third card.  I used a couple shades of green cardstock to cut the image from as well as from white.  I inked the greens, colored the red berries and assembled the die cut.  Next I choose my papers.  Sometimes this takes me a very long time, trying several options until I am satisfied.  I am embarrassed to say that I might spend a couple of hours searching for the right mix.  Some people choose their papers first and then design the card.  I color my images first and then choose the papers.  I am sure I would save myself a lot of time if I chose my papers first, but I prefer to color my images the way I want without having color restraints from the papers.  How about you?  Do you color first or choose papers first?  Well sorry to be so chatty today and take up so much of your time.  Here is my final card.
Have a great day!
Hugs and smiles,
Janice

Build a Poinsettia Layout

Hello everyone and Happy Thursday to all! Today I wanted to share a Merry Christmas Layout made for CottageCutz using the BEAUTIFUL "CottageCutz Build a Poinsettia Die" from the CottageCutz  Christmas Traditions Release.

I cut them all out using Red Card Stock, and then I airbrushed them with a red copic, not sure if you can see the airbrushing very well in my photo's. Next I used Liquid Scrap Dots to give them a 3-D look, and then added some CIP's gold glitter to the centers of them all.

These were easy to make, I just put them all together at the same time, let them dry, and then added the glitter, set aside and worked on my layout. My layout is super simple as it only consist of 2 dp pieces for the backgroud layers, then I took another design paper piece and cut it down to create a matt for photo's.

Lastly I added lots of Really Reasonable Ribbon, and a button!

Thank you for looking and for all your wonderful comments!!!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Sleigh Bells Ring are you listening.  In the lane snow is glistening.  A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight.  Walking in a winter wonderland.  Today is a CottageCutz card made with the beautiful Holiday Sleigh die.
Isn't this sleigh gorgeous.  I couldn't help but to die cut and just paint it with glue and glitter this with red glitter.  That's all you need to do to make this card "Glisten".  Just a quick tip:  when glittering images be sure to use card stock in the same color family as the glitter.  That way you will not have any unwanted paper color showing through your glitter and it gives it a nice even tone.
I used Spellbinders Decorative Labels One to showcase my focal point.  The Martha Stewart Skyland Snowflake punched piece was sewn to the top.  The green glitter branch is from Michaels.  The Recollection Happy Holiday sentiment is also from Michaels.  Here is the die I used, you can find it here.

Thank you for stopping by today.  It's really appreciated.

Announcing: NEW CottageCutz Design Team Members!!!

The time has finally come to announce our NEWEST CottageCutz Design Team Members! We had so many wonderful applications, and really enjoyed viewing all your beautiful work & talent. It really made the process of narrowing down to only 7 hard. We want to thank you all that applied!!!

We are SUPER EXCITED to announce our New members to The CottageCutz Design Team!

Hi, Friends!  I have been crafting all my life, but papercrafting and cardmaking became my passion a few years ago.
Most of all I love stamping and coloring, both digital and rubber stamps.  Like to use a lot of elements,
like die cuts on my cards, to give dimension and texture.

Actually living in Kissimee, Florida, but my hometown is Puerto Rico, there's where I grew up and raised my two boys.
Started blogging on 2010 and have been passionate about that since then. This has given me the opportunity to meet
lovely  people and share our experiences about this wonderful hobby!

Feel free to visit my blog  http://becreativebeyou.blogspot.com/.  I love reading all your comments,
and it always amazes me to see how many people come and visit from all parts of the world.

Hope my style inspires you!

My name is Judy Rozema and I am thrilled to be joining the Cottage Cutz Design Team!
During the school year, I am a part-time elementary music teacher.  I live in Central Nebraska, in Cornhusker country (although I grew up in Arizona), and have been married for 30 years. I have a daughter who is a sophomore Theatre major in college, and a married son who is a Pastor and lives in North Carolina. Two dogs (labs) and a water turtle round out our family.

When I am not stamping, I like to crochet and watch movies, go on "junk jaunts" and travel. I also am very involved in our community theatre as a director and actress.

I hope you will stop for a visit at my blog -
Judy's Blog Joy in a JAR!

I am a stay home mom of 2 boys, ages 11 & 13.  I’ve always done some sort of craft since I was little.  It brings me so much joy to create things with my hands.  I love working with dies, piecing things together, and even creating “out of the box” uses for them.  My favorite technique when using dies is coloring.  I love to color the pieces, (and anything else I can find), with my pencils and mineral spirits.  I love making things come alive through color, shading, and shaping.   I love the CottageCutz Dies and am so excited to be joining their team for the next 6 months!

My name is Lisa a/k/a Raining and I am hopelessly addicted to the art of scrapbooking. As well as cataloging memories for my family I consider what I do to be scrap art. I love taking a flat piece of paper of packaged products and turning them into something beautiful and unexpected. I have always been a creative spirit and feel I come alive when I am in the creative process.
My style leans towards the shabby chic however I let the products I am working with dictate what path to go down. Be it artsy, mixed media or eclectic.
I'm thrilled to be joining this talented team at Cottage Cutz and hope to leave you inspired!

Hi. My name is Olena. I am originally from Ukraine, but 9 years ago I moved to USA. I have been married to my husband for 10 years and I am a mother to two wonderful kids. I began stamping in 2006 and scrapping in 2008. Before papercrafts took over, I was into needlepoint and counted cross stitch. Now instead of a sewing room, the shelves are filled with paper, stamps and inks! I'm mostly a cardmaker, but I do some altered art projects from time to time, too. My first card I uploaded to web.gallery the Inque Boutique Company. And then I started working with stamps from the Inque Boutique Company for one year. Then, I worked with Heartfelt Creations Company about 3 years. I have been very fortunate to be published in Just Cards, Stampers’ Sampler, Take Ten, Catch UP, Scrap @ Stamps Arts issues. I like working with sketches and challenges. I am so excited to be a part of the amazing CottageCutz Team. Thanks!!!

I am 40, married to a wonderful husband Franc and we have two boys age 5 and 8. We also have a dog, a cat and two guinea pigs. I am a stay at home mum and in my spare time I love making cards and being  creative. My first language is Slovenian but I am reasonably fluent in English

My name is Vladka and I'm living in a small but beautiful country in Europe, called Slovenia. Creating with paper, specially card making is my passion and I'm crafting for several years now. This is my meditation, my own world where everything is possible.

Congratulations Ladies and Welcome to CottageCutz Design Team! We cant wait for you all to see what they have in store using CottageCutz Dies!!! We know they will bring Lots of Inspiration for you all!!!

Sweet Christmas Fawn

Hello friends!  Today's card features the sweet CottageCutz Christmas Fawn and the CottageCutz Pine Tree Forest.  I am sure you know I love to make scenes and this little fawn is perfect for this cozy winter scene.  I cut the deer using kraft and white paper.  I used Vintage Photo distress ink to shade the deer and ink the edges.

I cut the Pine Tree Forest from green cardstock and inked the edges with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.  After assembly of the trees I added liquid applique and glitter, than used a heat gun to puff it up.  Glued everything in place and here is the end product.  These 2 dies are on sale along with so many others at the Scrapping Cottage Store, but it ends soon!

Get your shop on and have fun!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice
