All-Star Softball Card

Hey Krafty Friends, Jen from Katahdin Krafts on the blog today with an All-Star Softball Card.

I used several dies from the "Baseball & Golf Release" to make my card.  First, I cut the
"Baseball" die out in yellow cardstock, and transformed it into a softball!  Both my daughters play softball, so I used their team colors, to make the card fitting for their coach or a teammate.

Next, I cut out the "All Star Emblem" die and backed it with the coordinating color (either black or red), and fussy cut the circle.  I really wanted the softball to POP off the page, so I used several pop dots to give it dimension.  I created small softballs from the "Baseball Glove, Bat & Ball" die, I felt this added interested and broke up the team colors a bit.
Finally, I used a star stencil from my stash with Distress Inks to form my background.

Check out all the cards details, along with a new project on the  CottageCutz YouTube Channel this Wednesday.
Thanks for stopping in!  Happy Krafting!

Fun Fold Golf Card

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

It's new release time!!! We have new dies in the online store. It's our Baseball and Golf release with 16 new designs and currently on a 30% off sale. These new dies are so perfect for a masculine themed card.

Or for the kiddos (boys and girls) who are baseball or softball players. Don't forget about the golfers either. If you are a scrapbooker and are putting together the summer season of your child's baseball season, we have you covered.

My card today is featuring the new Golfer Silhouette, Putting GreenGolf Cart  and Golf Bag & Clubs dies. I made this for my hubby's friend. He has a September birthday and is also an avid golfer. So, let's get started with some details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:
I love trying different fun fold techniques. I ran across this one while perusing Pinterest one night. You know how that can be! I thought the fold would be great to show off some of the golf dies.

I started by selecting my card colors and designer papers. I decided on these ones that had a masculine appeal and also the one pattern looked like golf balls. At least that's what I thought (LOL)!!!
Here is a diagram of the cardstock size and where it's to be scored.
Fold both these panels into the center and burnish on the folds. Added a piece of white cardstock measuring 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" to inside of card. This will be decorated as well.
Next, I cut the designer paper for the front panels. On the lower panel I used the striped paper and cut it at 2" x 4".  The top panel I used the "golf ball" paper and I cut it at 3" x 4".

For my image panel I used the 2nd largest (2 1/2" x 3 1/2") Stitched Rectangle Die and cut it in red cardstock. I used the 3rd largest (2 1/4" x 3 1/4") Rectangle Die and cut in white cardstock. I stenciled some clouds and added some grass using the Spring Grass die.  It's an older die but still available.
I cut my golfer silhouette in navy blue cardstock and used dimensional adhesive to secure to card. On the image panel, only use adhesive to the top part of the panel to allow the card to open.
Now to the card inside, I used the Putting Green & Golf Bag & Clubs dies. I stamped the sentiment in navy ink to complete this part of the card.
Normally I don't do anything to an envelope, but I am not mailing this card. It will be hand delivered. I already had the golf card die cut and it didn't work on the inside of the card. So, I decided to use it on the envelope and also added the word phrase "par". It was cut from the Stitched Alphabet die.
To complete the front of my card, I added a "happy birthday" phrase. I stamped on white cardstock and then added blue and red flags for interest. Well, that's it for me for this week. see you next Saturday.

Not only is my husband a golfer but my two nephews take a swing at it too! So I am happy to make a few more cards with the golf theme.  Today's card features the Golf Ball & TeeGolf Basket of Balls, and Golf Bag and Clubs.

Design Steps:

1.  Start with an A2 size kraft card base, green DP cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, green plaid DP 4 x 5 1/4, strip of green DP 2 1/8 x 5 3/8 and a strip of newspaper DP 2 x 5 1/4
2.  Cut out the pieces using the Golf Ball & Tee Golf Basket of BallsGolf Bag and Clubs on green, red, white, brown and silver card stock.  Cut out the squares using the 6th from the largest Pierced Square die on kraft card stock.  Cut out the the rectangle 6th from the largest Pierced Rectangle die on kraft card stock
3.  Assemble the pieces using a fine tip glue.  I traced the golf basket and put a white liner behind it.  Using the Stitched Alphabet die cut out FORE in red
4.  Glue down the solid green DP to the card front.  Next glue down the plaid DP.  Glue the green strip to the newspaper DP and add it to the front as shown.  Glue the FORE, squares and the rectangle to the front as shown
5.  Add dimension squares to the back of the golf basket, golf bag and the ball and then pop them to the card front as shown below and your card is complete

Hey Now You're an Allstar

Hi, Marla here with another CottageCutz YouTube video.  Today, I am sharing not one, but two cards featuring products from the new "Baseball and Golf" release.  Baseball is one of my favorite sports to watch and my son played on many Allstar teams, so my cards today are kind of an homage to him.

For my first card, I created a background using a layering star stencil and went for a more vintage vibe. I began with the "Baseball Glove, Bat and Ball" die.  I paired it with the "Allstars w/Shadow" and "Baseball Phrase w/ Shadow" dies and went with an All American red, white and blue color palette.

For my second card, I stayed with the same red, white and blue color scheme, but used a plaid stamped background I had in my craft stash.  I used the "Baseball Glove, Bat and Ball" die again, but this time I paired it with the "Baseball Phrases" and "Allstar Emblem" dies. Not sure which one I prefer.  I'd love to know your thoughts.

More details can be found in the video and while you're there, don't forget to enter for a chance to win the "Baseball Bat, Glove and Ball" die.  I've linked all of the products that I used on my cards below for easy shopping.

Until next time..... Marla
