House Shaped Window Shaker Card

Happy Terrific TuesDIE Scrapping Cottage friends!
Melinda here with you for another fun Tuesday. My project features a couple of dies from  the SPRING RELEASEHere's what I created.

House shaped card with a window shaker.

I started by creating my house shaped base. I cut it out of some white card stock, light orange cardstock and also some patterned paper. The base of light orange cardstock is not pictured above.

I colored some of the pieces that were cut in white cardstock.

I then turned to the cute Spring Window Peeker die. I assembled it and added a piece of acetate to resemblance a window.

I then added some foam tape around the sides of the back. I put some glitter and a mix of sequins into the middle area.

I added a piece of white cardstock to the back. Doing this encloses the glitter and sequins and creates a shaker.

Here is a view of the base of the card. In this shot, it is upside down.

I attached the window to the back of the face of the card.

I then added the adorable little bunny peeker to the inside of the card.

Here is a side view of the window to the face of the card.

Here is one more look at the finished card. It is a top folding card.

When Skies are Gray

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Sunday edition of the Blog.

The Spring Release with 20 new designs is in the online store. There is a nice combination of both religious and whimsical designs. So perfect for all card makers out there.

And there is still plenty of time to order and get them for your Easter cardmaking. Today for your viewing pleasure, I am featuring the new Spring Showers Mouse die and created a thinking of you card for my precious little granddaughter.

I used the colors from this week's Splitcoaststampers color challenge #888. We were to use daffodil delight, calypso coral and magenta madness for our color trio.
daffodil delight, magenta madness, calypso coral

I used all the challenge colors for the mouse raincoat and umbrella. I took advantage of the allowed neutrals for my stormy background. I found a navy designer paper in my collection and then stenciled raindrops on the paper with a clear gloss gel.

The clouds are cut from the clouds slimline die in a gray cardstock and sponged the edges with navy and gray inks for a storm cloud look. I stamped my sentiment on the clouds.

I cut the rain puddle out of the same designer paper as my background. The puddle is from an older retired die Rainy Day Duck. But you could also use the ice pond from the Ice-Skating Kids die or any of our snowbank dies to create a puddle.

Well, that's it for me for this post. See you next Saturday!

Hello from the Spring Kitten

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

The Spring Release with 20 new designs is in the online store. There is a nice combination of both religious and whimsical designs. So perfect for all card makers out there.

And there is still plenty of time to order and get them for your Easter cardmaking. Today for your viewing pleasure, I have a card featuring the new Spring Kitten w/Envelope die.

Instead of using it for a Spring or Easter card I created a thinking of you card. I will send this one off to my friend who lives in another state, and I haven't seen her since the pandemic started. Hopefully that will change soon.

Design Steps:

Since I knew the type of card I wanted to make and the die I was going to use, I just needed to select the card and image colors. I looked through my designer papers and I found an envelope with some nice shading on it. It was too nice to use as an envelope to send in the mail and then throw away. So, I cut the envelope apart and used it for my card background. I am also using a papaya ribbon for an accent on my card.

Papaya Card Base - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
I cut the envelope, tulips and kitten in colors that coordinated with the papaya shade color I was using.
I cut the hello phrase from the Hello w/Shadow die. I used coral cardstock and sponged the shadow layer for a color variance.
Now I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the ribbon and designer paper to the card base with double sided tape.
The image and hello phrase are attached with dimensional adhesive. I scattered some enamel dots and that completed my card. I hope I have given you an idea for a different way to use this die. I will be back tomorrow with another thinking of you card using these Spring dies.

Patients

Hi everyone, I am here on Friday after being under the weather so I thought it would be perfect making a card with these adorable bears.
How cute are these Bear Patients ailing with Stitched Mushrooms

These cuties come with little soup cans, cast for your arm and more.  I used the stitched mushrooms just because to me they were so cute

I used acetate to make a completely see thru card and added patterned paper to the inside of the card

I hope everyone enjoyed my post and I will return Monday when I am more together.

Spring Sheep

 Hello Friends

It is Pam sharing with you today!

I have one more Easter card to share with you today.  I am using the sweet little Spring Sheep die set to create the card.

Design Steps:
1.  Start by cutting a rectangle out of white card stock using the Pinking Shear Edge Slimline second from the largest. Leaving the die in place, to create a nice white border, use a blending brush and some blue and soft green inks to blend out the background
2.  Cut out some green grass using the Grass Slimline die and cut it down to create the grassy hills
3.  Using the Picket Fence Slimline cut it on white then trim to fit the card.  Cut the Tree of Nature die with brown for the trunk and green for the leaves
4.  Glue the tree in the background and then add the fence tucked under the grass
5.  Cut out the flowers using the Spring Meadow die and pink card stock.  Glue the flowers and leaves to the tree.  The little sheep are cut from the new release Spring Sheep die.  I cut them in white, grey, pink and black.  I assembled with a fine tip glue and added a Sakura Glaze black to the eyes and hooves.  Tuck the little sheep into the grass as shown
6.  To finish the card glue to a white card base which measures 3 1/4 x 8 1/4.  I added Stickles to the flower centers. Stamped my sentiment then layered onto pink card stock.  Glued sentiment to the front as shown above and last made some little bluebirds to sit on the sentiment and the tree
