Valentine's Day!!

It is Pam creating with you today! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas celebration!  I can't believe I am saying this but I am starting on my Valentine's!!! The little bear I am using is actually from our Get Well release.  But she is very versatile and so is the sentiment. They are perfect for Valentine's Day cards!

Design Steps:

 1.  Cut an A2 white card base then on the front flap cut off a 2 inch strip.  Cover the inside first with a red piece of card stock then a piece of DP.  Next on the left side of the inside cut a 2 x 5 1/8 piece of white card stock and glue inside to the left

2.  Using the Stitched Cupcake die set cut out 4 stitched red hearts and glue 3 of them next to the white panel on the inside of the card.  Then glue the remaining heart to the white panel as shown below

 3.  Next cut a piece of red card stock for the front flap at 2 1/8 x 5 3/8 then layer on a piece of DP at 2 x 5 1/8. Glue to the front

4.  Use the Sweetheart Doilies die and cut out the largest circle in white and then the next largest in red glue together

 5.  Cut the sentiment Sending Hugs in red using the Sending Hugs Bear die

5.  Glue the sentiment to the front flap of the card and also attach the heart doily

6.  Using the Sending Hugs Bear die cut out the bear in brown, the flower and bow in red, the stem in green and the tummy in tan.  Shade all the pieces and assemble them add black rhinestones for the eyes

 7. Place pop dots on the back of the bear and place the bear onto the heart doily

Happy New Year! Bottle Tag

Hi everyone! The new year is fast approaching and that means that many of us will attend a gathering of some sort to celebrate the arrival of 2018. Often a bottle of wine is an easy and appreciated choice for a hostess/host gift. I thought I would create a bottle tag instead of the usual wine bag to make it a little extra special. 

To construct this tag, I started with a piece of black glitter card stock and used a Scalloped Nested Die to cut the bottle neck hole. Then I used the Birch Tree die as the background and slipped the doe and fawn into the trees. The Happy New Year Ornament was cut out of gold card stock and placed on top of a doily from the Nested Stitched Doily set cut out of white holographic paper. For a final touch, I applied some chunky white glitter at the feet of the deer to appear as if they are standing in snow. You could skip this step if you are in a hurry or do not have the glitter on hand.  

This tag was made using the dies shown below but if you do not have these particular designs, use your creativity to decorate your tag in another way. For example, it does not have to say anything about the new year. Instead, you can use a Thanks or other Expression die in combination with other shapes to create your own bottle tag. There are many occasions it could be used for as well. For example, you could decorate it to celebrate a birthday or to congratulate someone for something. 

This tag was surprisingly quick to construct when you let the dies do all the work for you. If you wanted to put more time into it, you could shade the deer and the birch trees but I really wanted to show you could create this without much fuss and still get a great result.

Silent Night is one of my favorite hymns.  I created this easy and fun art journal page using the Winter Deer Family  and Snowflakes die cuts.

I colored in the deer and snowflakes with watecolor and then letting dry.  Next I added white pen to add more dimension to the deer.

Then I added a little glitter glue for shimmer and mica flakes for more interest.

This is a simple page that looks beautiful in it's simplicity.

I hope this inspires you to add some pages to your art journa.

Happy Bee-Day!

Hi, Lois here today wishing you a very Merry Christmas.  I hope you are enjoying your day with family and friends.  I'm happy you took a little time out of this special day to check out my card, which is made with several CottageCutz dies.  The stamp/die combos that were released last spring will be ON SALE right after Christmas, so I thought it would be appropriate to use one of them today.  Be sure to check out the CottageCutz store for the sale.

The focal image of my relatively simple birthday card is Bumblebee Chloe.

To start my card, I stamped Chloe onto some white cardstock . . .

. . . and colored her with Copic markers.  I used a clear Wink of Stella brush on both her wings and the wings of the little bee buzzing around the daisy.

I then die-cut her out using the coordinating framelit die.

I cut out the card base and circle elements as follows:

Card base - heavyweight black 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Patterned paper - 5 1/4" x 4"

Black circle - largest Stitched Scallop circle

White circle - 2nd largest Double-stitched circle

Using Versafine Onyx Black ink, I stamped the sentiment on the patterned paper and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I then scored the black card base at 4 1/4" and constructed my card, adding a strip of black and white ribbon behind the layered circles.

I adhered three large foam pop dots to the back of my die-cut of Chloe . . .

. . . and placed her in the center of the circle.  And my card was complete.

Christmas Gift Tags

It's Anja here just before Christmas. I hope you are doing fine and that you're surrounded with your loved ones for Christmas. I got all my Christmas shopping done and I'm looking forward to see the expressions on everyones's faces when they open the presents.

Yesterday I made a few gift tags with the new dies I got. Mail tag dies are perfect for different tag sizes. I decorated them with golden bells and some holiday greenery.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Christmas Holly Bells, Mistletoe & Bells, Holly Branch w/Bow, Happy Holidays Greeting, Mail Tag Set),
- Distress Inks (Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Pine Needles, Forest Moss, Vintage Photo),
- craft paper for tags,
- white card stock for die cuts,
- white pigment ink pad,
- gold pigment ink pad,
- gold ribbon,
- paper glue.

 First I cut the tags. I used white ink to color the edges.

Then I die cut the greenery and the bells. I used Distress Inks and gold pigment ink for coloring.

I cut the greeting from white card stock.

When I had everything cut and colored I arranged it on the tags and glued everything together. I used gold ribbon to go with gold bells.

And this is how they look from up close.
