Some birdy Loves You

Hello everyone, today I'm sharing my Some Birdy Loves You card using the DARLING CottageCutz "Spring Blossom" Release
I love this Release, and LOVE the CottageCutz Birdcage with 2 birds , and the CottageCutz Lace Flower Doily, both are a must have for your collection!!!

For the Lace flower doily I cut it out in white card stock and then distressed the edges with tim holtz ink, and some gold ink too. I also added some pink pearls to the bottom and 1 to the top. I ruched up the seam binding a made a bow with it and added a flower.

On the bottom I ruched up more seam binding to create a bigger bow and then added a feather, flowers, and flourish of pearls.

I added one of the birdies under my sentiment and colored it with copics.

Thank you all for looking and hope you have a lovely day!!
Hugs to all,

Window Screen Flourish Flower

Today's card is a window screen style card, you construct the base card with a window cut directly into the inside of the card. I used the Cottage Cutz Flourish Layered Flower die. This die is great for this type of card because the flourish is large enough to cover a window or hole cut in the base card. All you need is a small amount of the paper to attach to the edge of the card window.
The Cottage Cutz die comes with a two layer flower. In this case I cut both flowers out in two papers. One with Cajun rust and the second set in printed page paper (old book). I added rust Copic color to the printed paper to match the rust flowers. I cut the printed paper like a pinwheel so I could curl the petals. Once curled I added Crystal Stickle. I stacked the flowers every other color. Rust, Printed large, than Rust small, Printed small and added a black center. I than glued green seed beads with Glossy Accents randomly in the center of the flower.
This is the finished flower. I guess you would ask about the colors, Well. . .I am the master of pulling odd but striking colors together. I used Bazzill Leapfrog (light olive tint) Cajun (rust) and Bling Black. The rust and olive are great together and the black was pulled because of the printed page.
As you can see, the black made a striking contrast color for the inside of the card and the backround of the green leaves. It made the rust, white and black flower pop. You can see I tested leaving it white and it just din not work. The greenery was cut from the Leapfrog paper, than tinted in two shades of green and one shade of brown Copic markers, than hightlighted with micro black dots.
This is a photo of the card with the light coming through the screen of greenery. You can see the inside of the card had the black panel with a flat flower and greenery. I used the rust again on the back side of the window inside the card.
This is the Cottage Cutz die that was used. . . Flourish Layered Flower.

Thanks Barry

Cottage Cutz Tea Time

It's time for tea at The Scrapping Cottage.  It's Carol here today with another card convection.  Let me invite you to sit a spell while I show you this card I created with some of the Tea Time Dies.  Tea Parties are one of my favorite entertaining themes.  So grab a nice cup of tea, relax, enjoy the company, and feast your eyes on this creation .
This is the Tall Teapot and the Small Teacup.   Behind them is the Oval Doily frame.  While I was playing with the Oval doily I came up with some more ways to use it that I will show in the future.  This is one die that I will you use over and over again-the possibilities are endless.  I love that it looks like it is pin pricked and I didn't have to do a thing but run it through my die cutting machine to achieve that!!!
You can see what I am talking about in this picture.  See under the handle on the white die piece.  Yes it is absolutely lovely.  Working with Cottage Cutz dies makes your crafting so easy.  All I did was cut out the teapot and teacup, used a bit of "tea" dye distress ink, glitter, and some stickles and my image was done.
As you can see here in the corners I used the decorative flower for the teapot on my corners.  Don't you like to get the most bang for your buck out of your dies, plus coordinate the embellishing at the same time.  This set allows you to do that.
I just cut the floral design out on white cardstock and glittered the piece with some Martha Stewart Rose colored glitter I had on hand.
So now that you teacup is empty, I hope you have enjoyed viewing this card as much as I enjoyed making it.  This Tea Time Set is so beautiful.  I am in love with it and know I will use it over and over again.  So until your next visit, I will keep you close in my heart and always in my prayers.  Here are the dies are used for this card:

All White Card

Hi friends!  Janice here.  I love the look of all white cards so I am sharing one with you today, with the exception of the base of the card.  I used CottageCutz Tropical Trio and CottageCutz Greenery dies to create my card.

The greenery die cuts are 2 layers thick, so they would show up better.  Then I added layered flowers and some bling for the flower centers.  I finished the card with an organza polka dot bow.  I hope you like this very simple, quick, and pretty card.  You could do this all white technique with any of the dies.  Try it out and see what you think.  I have been wanting to try it with the Window Die.  Maybe I will do that soon.  Have a wonderful day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs and smiles,
Janice

CottageCutz Catching a Buzzzzzzz!

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Lorie here today with a fun little card made with CottageCutz dies from the Spring Blossom release at The Scrapping Cottage.   These gorgeous dies just arrived in my mailbox yesterday, and I could hardly wait to get that package opened and start playing!

I used some patterned paper from my stash, added some punched elements for the sentiment and embellishment.  The wings of the bee have Stickles added to them for sparkle.  Oh!  I almost forgot!  I sponged the edges of the doily and bee's wings with distress ink, as well as the body, using  opaque white ink.   You can see that by adding just that wee bit of sponging, it gives the die cut a much more 3-Dimensional look.
For this card, I used the following dies:
