Safari Birthday

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store. It's our Circus release with 16 new designs. They are currently on sale at 25% off individual dies. The Safari release dies are also on sale at 25% off individual dies. This was our Black Friday release.

The Circus & Safari dies are so cute for Birthday, Valentine, Thinking of You or even Father's Day cards. Just let your creativity soar. The DT has been showing some great ideas & techniques for ways to use these dies. So if you missed any check back on the Blog.

Today for your viewing pleasure I am featuring the Safari Zebra, Safari Hippo and the Safari Monkey dies and I created a whimsical birthday card. This would work for either a young boy or an adult man.

So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:
I started with the colors this week. Our own Jeanne was the hostess for the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #830. She chose blueberry bushel, honey bee and bermuda bay for her color trio.
The colors had me stumped for a bit and then I decided to stencil a confetti like background using the 3 colors. I used distress inks for my stencil work.
This is the finished work.

Next, I cut my Safari images in the neutral shades of white, black, brown and gray. For the vine that is part of the monkey die I used bermuda bay cardstock.

I stamped my birthday sentiment on a flag banner. Just so the animals would have something to stand on.
Now I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the stenciled panel to the card base with double sided adhesive.
I attached the flag with double sided tape. The Safari animals are all attached with dimensional adhesive. I decided to give the monkey a little balloon to hold onto. The balloon is from the 2019 Ballerina Mouse die set. I stamped the hb2u phrase.

Well, that's it for me for this week. I hope that we are showing you that even though the dies are named Safari or Circus they are so easy to convert to any type card. Like the one I have created here today. See you next Saturday!

You Snuck Your Way Into My Heart

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a Valentine's Day project for you today.

 For this project I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Safari Elephant, Safari Hippo, Stitched Heart Set, Filigree Clouds),

- Distress Inks,

- blue, grey and white card stock for die cuts,

- black pen,

- white pen,

- sentiment stamp,

- black pigment ink,

- acrylic block,

- scissors,

- adhesive foam pads,

- paper glue.

First I did the background. I cut two hearts and a bunch of clouds out of white and blue cardstock. I glued the clouds on the hearts. Next I cut the edges of the clouds using the heart die.

Then I colored the edges with Distress Ink.

Then I cut the elephant and the hippo out of the grey card stock. I used Distress Ink to emphasize the edges.

Next I stamped and cut the sentiments.

And then all I had to do was arrange both hearts together. And my Valentine's Day project was done.

That's all from me for today. Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Tons of Love

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today and I have another Valentine's Day card for you using the Safari dies.  I couldn't decide which of these three images to use with this sentiment so I hit upon using all three and making a slimline card!

I started by choosing a paper that was floral with greenery and in good "Valentine's" colors.  I cut  a panel 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches and a panel 8 3/8 x 3 3/8 inches from the floral.

I cut the animals using three different shades of grey.  (You could also cut them from white and color them using three different shades of grey ink.) I cut three hearts using the Stitched Hearts dies in pink and green to match my paper.

I glued one animal to each heart.  I knew I wanted the elephant in the middle as it is slightly larger than the other two.

To assemble the row of animals I glued one animal to each heart and aligned them using graph paper.  This made it very easy and the lineup turned out perfectly spaced.

I added this to the card front along with some baker's twine.

I stamped and cut out the sentiment and adhered it to the front using foam dots.  This was a very quick card to make and is sure to be a hit with any animal lover!

Adventure Awaits

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing a fun card featuring several new dies from the new Safari die release.  This die release is part of the Black Friday release which is on sale for a couple of more days!

I die cut out the Safari elephant, giraffe, zebra, hippo and lion using white card stock and shaded them with Oxide Inks. The sentiment is from the Safari Phrases die set and the leaves are from the Safari Adventure Gang die set.
I created a slimline card panel sized at 4x9 inches.  The background was ink blended for a pretty sunset appearance. A bit of water was spritzed on my card base.
To build my card, I affixed the whimsical sentiment toward the top of my card and centered it.
Next, I adhered the elephant and lion on each end of my card. The zebra was centered in the middle.
The sweet giraffe came next along with the adorable hippo. The row of safari animals fit perfectly on the slimline card.
I adhered a couple of the larger leaves in the right corner of my card and scattered a few of the smaller leaves around the lion.
The remaining leaves were tucked in around the safari animals filling in all of the empty space and adding a pop of color.
Here are the die sets that I used on my card, available in the store:
