Happy Birthday Fishes

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing another Throwback Tuesday post.

I am featuring the Goldfish & Bowl die from the 2018 Black Friday Pet release. I made a birthday card using our newest slimline dies. We have 9 Slimline designs and they are on a 25% off sale. These are wonderful, basic dies that should be a part of every card maker's collection especially if you are liking the new slimline style.

For my card layout, I am using the Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge #854. I thought the fish bowl would work well for element 3 of the sketch.

I chose a soft blue dotted paper for the card background. This is cut with the 2nd largest Nested Rectangles Slimline die. It measures 3 1/4" x 8 1/4". I cut a white card base the same size as the designer paper and secured with double sided tape.

I cut my Goldfish and bowl and added those to the card center. For element 4 of the sketch I used a couple more Goldfish. Stamped the punny sentiment and scattered a few white sequins to finish off this card.

That's it for me for this post. I will be back with you again on Saturday.

Sending Hugs & Happy Thoughts

Hi!

It's Anja here. Today's card was inspired by my feelings lately. There are days when I feel stuck at home like this fish in a bowl. But better days are ahead, I'm sure.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Goldfish & Bowl, Mom's Garden Bouquet),
- Distress Inks,
- craft card base (15x15 cm),
- silver pigment ink,
- white pigment ink,
- black pen,
- acrylic spray (white, gold),
- gold embossing powder,
- embossing ink,
- sentiment stamp,
- heat gun,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the bouquet and the fish bowl.

Next I started on the background. First I colored in circle with white pigment ink.

Next I sprinkled white acrylic paint over it. I used cut circle to protect the color from the previous step. I dried the paint with the heat gun.

Then I added the sentiment. I used gold embossing powder for it.

Next I sprayed gold acrylic paint over it and again dried the paper with the heat gun.

My background was finished and I just added all the cut and colored pieces. And my card was done.

I wish you all a lovely week and see you again next Sunday.

Anja Z.

Cards with pets

Hi, Janja is here.
Christmas is almost here and we all probably ended up with our Christmas cards.
Today, I prepared three cards with some new dies from Pets release.

- white card base: 4.25 x 5.35" (10,7 x 13,9 cm), folded
- kraft card base: 5.3 x 5.3" (13,5 x 13,5 cm), folded
- colored card stock
- different ink pads
- plastic stencil: brick wall
- double-sided sticky tape, double-sided foam tape, foam pads, glue
- glossy accents

Start this card by cutting a fish, bowl and cat.
I used colored card stock. For greater depth, I used different ink pads. On the picture is missing a shelf that I cut out later.

Use a plastic stencil brick wall for the background.
Cut the background to size 5 x 5" (12,7 x 12,7 cm). Paste it with a double-sided sticky tape to the card base. Stamp a sentiment.
Attach the fish bowl and cat to the shelf with foam pads.
Use glossy accents for air bubbles.

-------------------

Cut out all the pieces with the die - Rufus The Hound. I used the die - Fireplace with Accessories for small bows.

Cut two patterned papers of this size: 4 x 5.2" (10 x 13,2 cm) and 4 x 2.9" (10 x 7,3 cm). I printed the sentiment in Word.

For the final touch, draw a shadow around the dog with a brush. Apply a glossy accents to the water in a bowl.

------------------------

Cut out and assemble Miss Kitty.

Prepare background and two frames. Cut out two circles and stamp a sentiment. Attach frame and Miss Kitty to card base as shown using double-sided foam tape.
Finally, add a little pearl to the flower.

Have a nice day.

Black Friday Release Samples (Part 3)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards from the brand new Black Friday Release Bundle.

There are 16 new pet designs in this release. And for a limited time the individual dies are on sale at 30% off. Or you can purchase the entire release for $99.95 and you will save 60%.

We have been featuring designs from the team this week. So if you missed them check here and here. We wanted to  give you some creative ideas for using the dies. So let's get started with the cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Puppy & Kitty on Chair die to create a cute living room scene featuring this sweet little kitty.
Don't you just love the color scheme in this room?  The colors are so chic and on trend. Looks like the kitty has found a comfy chair to relax and take a nap.
The finishing touch is the sentiment she used. It's so perfect to send that special friend to let her know you value the friendship. And, handmade cards have the ability to make someone's day so special.
Card 2:  Our next sample is from Sukie Dhillon. She is featuring the Goldfish & Bowl die on her card. The vellum fish bowl and Glossy Accents on the fish add a realistic appearance to the card. She used the Nested Stitched Eyelet Circle die as the background for the fishbowl.
The bright and cheery papers and fun sentiment make this the perfect birthday card.  The CAS design makes this an easy card to recreate for a stash of birthday cards.

That's our samples for today.  I hope the team has given you some inspiration and new ideas for using these dies.  Stop by again tomorrow for our final group post using this new release.
