Gingerbread Cottage Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday crafty friends!

Kris here sharing a "Sweet" birthday card featuring the Gingerbread Cottage from our Christmas 2023 Release!  All the dies in this release are 30% off for a limited time, so a great time to pick some up for those last minute holiday cards for this year OR to get a head start on next year's cards!  The Black Friday Release is also on sale for a limited time!

DESIGN STEPS:

I started with an A2 pink card.  I then die cut the Lattice Slimline die in white.  Then, with the card horizontal, I placed it on top and cut the bottom off a li'l short as shown below.

Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock to an A2 size, then I cut it diagonally following the stripe on the lattice.

I placed it into my Misti as shown below and stamped my sentiments (from the Hey Sugar stamp set from La-La Land Crafts) in Pink and Green.

I decided to add a bit of light blue (Tumbled Glass) ink around the house so the snowy roof doesn't blend in with the white background.

I adhered this piece to the card front.

Next, I die cut a piece of light pink glittery cardstock with one of the Hills Slimline set and attached to card front.

I die cut my Gingerbread Cottage  from white cardstock then colored with Copics and Distress Oxide inks, then adhered to card. I tucked the lollipop behind the snow, I glued the chocolate swirled candy to snow and popped up the strawberry, tree and house with foam dots.

Gingerbread Cottage Fun Fold

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Sunday edition of the Blog.

It's new release time!!! We have our Christmas 2023 release in the online store that has 40 designs. It's an old-fashioned Christmas theme. You can pick up the individual dies at 30% off for a limited time.

We also have a new Fall 2023 release in the online store with 15 designs. You can also pick up these individual dies at 30% off for a limited time.

Today for your viewing pleasure, I am featuring the new Gingerbread Cottage Die and created a center step fun fold.  So, let's get started on some details of how I created my card. I have another sample at the end of the post using this same die.

Design Steps:

I started my card this week using the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #970. We were to use real red, pool party, lemon lolly and old olive for the color combo.
real red, pool party, lemon lolly, old olive

I had this center step fun fold card in my stash. I bought these premade. They are an A2 size card and fold flat for mailing. Here is a link to a tutorial that gives exact measurements on how to cut your cardstock.
This premade base is ivory, and I wanted it to be the pool party shade. So, I cut cardstock and pool party designer paper to cover the ivory completely. I wanted to tone down the designer paper a bit, so I added a layer of vellum paper to each panel.

Pool Party Cardstock Center: 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer: 3 1/8" x 4 1/4"
Side Panel Pool Party Layer: 1 1/8" x 4 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer: 1" x 4 1/8"
Next, I cut the Gingerbread Cottage in the challenge colors plus a few allowed neutrals. It's such a cute die. I love it as a Christmas card.
Now I am ready to start my card assembly. I first attached the cardstock and designer panels to the center step card.
I wanted a bold Christmas sentiment and decided to use the Merry Christmas w/Shadow phrase (Christmas 2021). I cut it in red cardstock 2x and added it to a white glitter cardstock panel. Looks like this is retired but here is another phrase that would work as well. Merry Christmas Phrase w/Tree (Christmas 2022)
To finish off my card, I attached the gingerbread cottage to the center panel with dimensional adhesive. I cut the pine trees that are part of this die in the old olive shade.
That's it for me for this week. See you again next Saturday.

Reminder: Marla has a new video and a giveaway on the CottageCutz YouTube channel. Click here.

Here is the other card I made using these same colors. It's an A2 card as well.

Merry Christmas

Hi!

It's Anja here today with another Christmas card. This time I made a gingerbread house and added this cute little snowman to the scene.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Gingerbread Cottage, Christmas Camper),

- dye inks,

- white card base (15x15 cm),

- white card stock for die cuts and background (13x13 cm),

- black pen,

- black pigment ink,

- sentiment stamp,

- acrylic block,

- scissors,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored all the little pieces.

Next I trimmed the paper for the background and colored the sky with light blue shade. I also cut two pieces for the snowy ground. I colored the pieces around the edges with blue ink.

I used the sentiment stamp and stamped it on the smallest cut piece.

When all the pieces were ready I assembled the card together.

That's all from me for today. I wish you all happy and peaceful Christmas holidays. I hope you'll be able to spend it with your loved ones.

Also have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

A Sweet Christmas

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  It's Jeanne today with a sweet card to start the week.  As I mentioned in this post, gingerbread is one of my favorite themes for Christmas.  And the new Christmas releases have some wonderful gingerbread and baking themed dies.

My card today uses two of the dies - Gingerbread Cottage and Sweet as a Christmas Cookie.  For this card I used paper that came from the same paper pack as my previous gingerbread card.

For this card I wanted to see more "sweet" in keeping with the sentiment.

I used white glitter paper for the frosting on my house and also for my gumdrops.  It was easy to color the glitter paper with Copic markers.

I also wanted my peppermints to shine, so after assembling them I covered them in Glossy Accents. I used Distress Oxide ink in Vintage Photo to "brown" the cookies, house and card.

Be sure to visit the online store where the new releases are on sale for a limited time!
