Today for your viewing pleasure, I am featuring the Country Farm Chicks from our Country Farm collection. I created a birthday card with a sassy birthday sentiment. I have a few brothers who would think this is just too funny. So one of them will receive it for their birthday. So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I started my card this week with the layout. I had this one saved from Splitcoaststampers #856 and thought it would work well for the images I wanted to use. I did take some liberties with the sketch. Layer 4 is moved to the top of the image panel and instead of a rectangle image, I used a cloud.
Next, I die cut the chick images using different colors of colored cardstock. I used the packaging colors because I liked them. You could always use white cardstock and then color the images with your favorite coloring medium. Our design team does each of the ways I just mentioned.
I selected a sky themed background paper for layer 2 of the sketch. I used a blue panel for layering. My hill is cut from designer paper using the Hills Slimline die. I decided to add a sun and that is cut from the Clouds & Sun die.
Blue Layering Panel - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Designer Paper Layer - 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
I cut my cloud image and stamped my sentiment in a blue ink.
Now that all my elements are prepared I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the designer paper and the sun to the blue layering panel with double sided tape. The farm chicks and the cloud sentiment are attached with dimensional adhesive.
To finish off my card I added a white card base. The base is 4 1/2" x 5 3/4".  Scattered a few glitter enamel dots and this card is complete. I hope I have given you a fresh idea for a way to use these cute farm chicks. See you next Saturday with a sample from the new Slimline release.

Hello

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I have a card to share for my design team day.  I used the new Slimline dies for my card which were perfect for creating a springtime card to just say "hello"!

I cut the slimline card base in white card stock using the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline die set.  The Bird w/Bluebells and the Clouds and Sun were also cut out of white card stock and shaded with some Oxide Inks.  The sentiment was cut from the Stitched Alphabet set using some patterned paper.
I adhered some coordinating patterned paper on a slimline card base and layered the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle on top.  The "hello" sentiment was added in the bottom left hand corner.
The adorable bird and bluebells were placed next to the sentiment filling in some of the empty space.
Next, I affixed two of the clouds on each end of my card leaving enough space in the center for the 3rd cloud and sun.
The largest cloud was nestled amongst the others with the sun layered on top, finishing off my card.

You're Just Plane Wonderful!

Hello!  This is Sukie and I have an all occasion card to share today. I used a die set from the new Springtime die release for my card.  The new dies are definitely perfect for those all occasion cards.

I used basic card stock to cut out the Fox in Airplane and the Clouds & Sun.  A bit of ink was used around the edges of the clouds for some dimension.
The background for my card was created with a cloud stencil and some Oxide Ink.  I spritzed the clouds with some water for a softer appearance.
Once my cloudy background dried, I adhered the airplane as the focal point of my card.
Next, I adhered the two smaller clouds amongst the cloudy sky leaving enough space for the larger cloud.
I stamped a sentiment on the largest cloud and affixed it in the empty space above the airplane.
This card will be fun for several occasions including a birthday celebration or congratulatory event.

Every Cloud has a Silver Lining!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing a card for my design team day.  Cottage Cutz has a brand new Springtime die release with 22 die sets and they are absolutely adorable! Once again, there's quite a variety of dies which are perfect for those all occasion cards and some Easter creations.  The best part is that they are currently on sale!

The inspiration for my card was the adorable raindrop paper. I die cut the Spring Flower Parasol from card stock and adorned it with some flowers and leaves from the Spring Flowers in Pot die set.  I also cut out some Clouds & Sun.
Next, I created my card base by adhering the raindrop paper to a standard A2 sized card.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card panel.
The sun was placed in the upper left corner of my card and the largest cloud was adhered next to it overlapping the sun a bit.
Next came the two smaller clouds, they filled up the empty space above the sentiment.
The parasol was anchored in the bottom corner of my card.  I really like the pop of yellow flowers, they add the perfect amount of cheer to this motivational card!
This card came together quickly and was a delight to create with the newest Cottage Cutz die release.

Happy Father's Day!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing a Father's Day card for my design team post. I went with a simple look for this masculine card.
The paper I selected is from my stash and is the perfect compliment to the outdoor scene.  The die cuts are from the Cottage Cutz Lawnmower and Clouds & Sun die sets.
The grass mound on my card was fussy cut out of patterned paper and adhered onto the card base.  The clouds were floated above.
The sun was tucked into the upper right hand corner of my card.  The lawnmower was then added as the focal point.
The "Happy Father's Day" sentiment was stamped on a hand cut flag and adhered on the grass mound.
