Wishing You A Sealiously Great Day

Hi!

It's Anja here. My package of new dies is still on its way. But I still had two of the arctic dies I haven't used yet, so this was the perfect chance to try them out.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Baby Seals, Seal & Walrus Pals),
- die inks,
- white card stock (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- watercolor paper for background (14x14 cm),
- color sprays,
- black pen,
- white pen,
- heat gun,
- printer,
- scissors,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the seals.

Next I sprayed the watercolor paper with two shades of blue spray. I dried the paper with the heat gun.

I colored the rest of the paper with light blue die ink.

Then I cut the piece of paper for the ground. I used blue ink to color around the edges.

Then I printed and trimmed the sentiment.

And in the end I just needed to glue all the pieces on the card base. And my card was done.

I wish you all a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Anja Z.

Friendship

Hi! Janja here with a card for friends. Spending time with friends is never a waste of time.
I used some of the Arctic animals dies.

- CottageCutz dies: Baby Walruses, Baby Seals, Seal & Walrus Pals, Goldfish & Bowl (air bubbles)
- blank card: 4.25 x 5.5" (10,8 x 14 cm), folded
- white cardstosk: 4 x 5.2" (10 x 13,2 cm)
- colored cardstock
- colored ink pads
- clear embossing ink pad
- white embossing powder
- glossy accents
- fun foam (craft foam)
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape

I started making my card by die-cutting all the elements for it. To add shading to the arctic animals, I used colored ink pads.

I trimmed a piece of white cardstock and colored it with Distress Oxide blue ink. I then sprayed everything with some water.

I cut off another white cardstock and wavy cut the top edge with scissors. It is colored the same.
I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed with white powder.

Lastly, I cut out white air bubbles and applied glossy accents.

I glued the bottom part to a fun foam (craft foam) and attached it all to the blue background for more depth.

Have a nice day.
Janja

Hoping You'll be Back in the Swim of Things Soon!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing this card for my design team day created with the new Arctic Animals die release which is currently on sale!
I cut out the whale from the Arctic Whale & Narwhal die set and the seal from the Baby Seals die set.  The sliced oval is from the Pierced Oval Set.  The waves are punched from the Fiskar's Boundary Waters border punch.
I used some Oxide Ink for the background of my card and for the borders and then splattered everything with some water.
I stamped a sentiment from the Scrappy Moms (retired) Beach Bums stamp set on my card base and then added the oval and borders along the bottom edge.
The seal was placed on the center of the oval to mimic a mound of sand with the whale jumping above the waves.
A few sequins were scattered above the whale as a finishing accent on my card
Here are the die sets used on my card, available in the store:

Artic Animals Black Friday Release 2019 Day 2

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Friday to you! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today.

We are sampling DT cards using dies from the new Artic Animals Black Friday release. There are 13 new designs in this release and they are currently on sale. You can get this entire release at an amazing price of under $70.00.

These new dies are so versatile, as you will see with the DT samples. They can be used for a variety of occasions. The baby Artic animals  would make cute baby shower invitations, a welcome new baby card or a child's birthday card. The other dies are great for a winter birthday, thinking of you, thanks and let's not forget our Christmas cards.

So let's get started on the samples for today. The DT has created some beautiful cards with the Artic Animals.

Card 1:  Our first sample  today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She is featuring the Baby Walruses die and created a cute "thinking of you" card. They look so playful on the ice flow (Seal & Walrus Pals)  and the snowy background designer paper is a perfect compliment. Love how this pair appears to be bringing the punny sentiment to the card recipient. Don't you think it would make for a great Valentine's Day card.
Card 2: Our next sample is from Pam MacKay. She used the Baby Seals and Snowy Mountains dies to create her Artic scene. Her choice of designer paper for the water gives the look of movement. The little seals look so contented just floating in the icy waters. This would be a great card for a kids or guy winter birthday or even for Valentine's Day.
Card 3:  Our last sample for today is from Janja Albreht. She is featuring the Husky w/Sled die and created a great Artic scene. She was able to achieve such depth on her card with the background Snowy Mountains die and then just the tops of the trees using the Artic Snowy Tree die. If you were traveling to Alaska or another country in the Artic circle, wouldn't you expect to see a dog pulling a sled? How perfect would this be for a dog loving friend, a get well wish or a masculine card for a variety of occasions.
Well, that's our samples for today. Stop by again tomorrow to get more inspiration with cards using these new dies. If you missed our first group post, you can check it out here.  I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these new dies.
