Lady Bugs Galore

Hello Friends

I thought it would be fun to make one more summery card before I start on all my fall creations.  I am using Doodle Bugs, Stitched Tulips and DaisiesStitched Birdhouse plus a sentiment from one of our stamps sets called Love Bug Stamp Set.  If you haven't checked out our stamps take a minute to take a peek.  They are so sweet and the dies are included.  I want to thank Kathy Schweinfurth for the inspiration for my card.  I saw hers on Pinterest.

Design Steps:
1.  Use an A2 red card base, cut a piece of DP 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, use the second from the largest Pierced Rectangle Frame die and cut out 3 black frames, cut out a piece of checked DP 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and a piece of clear acetate 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 (not pictured)
2.  Using the Doodle Bug die cut out 3 lady bugs in black and red.  Using the Stitched Tulip and Daisies die cut out 3 small daisies in white and yellow.  Using the Stitched Bird House cut out just the house in 2 black checked DP and 2 red flowers DP (for the banner)
3.  Glue the 3 black frames together, glue the piece of acetate to the back of the frames.  Use foam tape to line the window as shown above.  Fill the well with shaker material.  Place the red checked retangle on the foam tape face down as seen below

4.  Place holes in all of your banner pieces both on the left and right.  Use a piece of twine to string them together as shown above.  Use dimension dots to pop them onto the card.  Glue down your shaker window just below the banner as shown above

5.  Add the flowers to the shaker window and cut the ends of the twine.  I used glue dots to secure the ends of the twine to the card

6.  Add the lady bugs and your sentiment and your card is complete

Go Wild

Hello Friends

I thought it would be fun to combine a few dies from different releases.  So I am using two dies from our Safari set, one from the Slimline set and one from our Tropical and Beach release.  The dies are Safari MonkeySafari PhrasesTropical Bouquet and Leafy Background Slimline.

Designer Steps:

1.  White card base 3 3/4 x 8 3/4 folded, Cut a piece of DP 3 1/2 x 8 1/2, and use the Leafy Background Slimline and cut it on green card stock

2.  Using the Safari Monkey cut out 3 monkeys using dark brown, light brown and black (nose).  Not pictured using the Tropical Bouquet die cut out 2 large Hibiscus flowers and 2 smaller ones on pink, and yellow.  Cut out 5 flowers in white, pink and black (centers).  Cut out 5 palm leaves in green. Using the Safari Phrase die cut out the sentiment in black card stock.  I used coordinating inks to shade some of the pieces and then glued together

3.  Glue the DP to the white card base and then add the leafy slimline piece.  Glue 2 hibiscus flowers, 2 white flowers and 2 leaves to the bottom of the card as shown and then add the monkey

4.  Glue 2 hibiscus flowers, 3 white flowers and 3 leaves to the top of the card and then add the monkey (below)

5.  Finish by adding the sentiment and the last monkey

Christmas in July

 Hello Friends

Nothing like making Christmas cards when it is over 100 degrees outside!  But it is fun to get started by celebrating Christmas in July!  I thought I would honor the true meaning of Christmas with my first card of the season.  I am using the Peace on Earth die and the Christmas Farmhouse Floral.

Designer Steps:

1.  The base is a Center Step card in white.  I found this great template with the measurements on it from the Ramblin Stamper Pat Tecza.

2.  To cover the white card base I traced the center step and cut out the green plaid DP.  I also cut a scallop square 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 in red DP.  Cut a piece of white card stock 3 1/4 x 3 1/4.  Cut the 2 side pieces in red DP 1 x 3 1/4.  Using the Peace on Earth die cut out the words in gold.  Cut out a strip of gold 1/8 x 5 3/8

3.  On the green plaid DP glue down the white square and the strip of gold.  The little scallop is trim I bought at a local scrapbook store

4.  Glue the Peace on Earth to the scalloped red DP square.  Place foam tape on the back of the square

5.  Glue it to the white square on the card front

6.  Glue the plaid piece to the white Center Step card base.  Glue the red side panels to the card front.  Cut some pine branches and pine cones using the Christmas Farmhouse Floral.  Add those to the side panels and your card is complete
