Sparkly Sheep

Hi!

It's Anja here for my Sunday post. While I'm still waiting for the new slimline dies and stamp sets to arrive, I'm still making cards with cute Country Farm release dies. This time I made a card with sparkly Sheep.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Curly Sheep & Lamb, Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline, Nested Stitched Rectangles Slimline),

- Distress Inks,

- white card stock for die cuts,

- black pen,

- white ink,

- embossing ink,

- sentiment stamp,

- acrylic block,

- heat gun,

- white embossing powder,

- sparkle brush marker,

- Perfect Pearls powder,

- brush,

- water spritzer,

- adhesive foam pads,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the sheep and the lamb.

Next I cut the scalloped rectangle and embossed the sentiment on top using the white powder.

Then I colored the rectangle with Distress Inks.

After that I sprinkled Perfect Pearls mixed with water over the paper. I used the heat gun to dry it.

I cut another rectangle piece for the card base. I glued the colored rectangle on top of it and added the sheep and the lamb. I used adhesive foam pads to adhere it. Last I used a sparkle marker to add some shine to both the sheep and the lamb. And my card was done.

And that's all from me for today. Before I go I want to invite you to The Scrapping Cottage online store to check the new Lil' Bluebird Designs release.

Have a nice week and see you again on Sunday.

Anja Z.

Sea you Soon (new stamps & die)

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

IT'S NEW RELEASE TIME! The Scrapping Cottage has just added a new brand to the company line. Lil' Bluebird Designs is being introduced with 16 new Photopolymer Clear Stamp Sets and 16 coordinating dies. There are stamps for so many of your card making occasions and then some. The coordinating dies just make it a perfect fit for your card making designs.

Today for your viewing pleasure I am featuring the new Under the Sea stamp set and Coordinating die set. I created a card for my precious granddaughter to let her know I will be seeing her soon. Yes, we are planning a trip to California later this month to visit her.

So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I started by stamping the images using tuxedo black ink by Memento and then coloring the images with various alcohol markers.  I selected several of the undersea images to create my little underwater scene.
The photos below show the alcohol markers I used for coloring.
Next, I ink blended the undersea background. I used a combo of distress inks, sponge daubers and smooth Bristol cardstock. I think this cardstock blends ink very nicely. Image panel is 4 1/4" x 5".
My sentiment was stamped in an espresso ink. It's a dark brown shade.
I am now ready to start my card assembly. I attached the images with dimensional adhesive. Before I secured the diver and the fish I stamped the water bubbles. I used Versamark ink and embossed with a white embossing powder. After I thought about it I wasn't sure if I should have possibly used a clear embossing powder.
To finish off my card I attached the image panel to a white card base. Card base is 4 1/4" x 5".

Well, that's it for me for this week. See you again next Saturday. The DT has been posting sample cards with these new Stamp & Die sets all week. Look back on the Blog if you haven't seen them.

It's a Princess Party

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne today with a card featuring some images from the new release of Lil' Bluebird Designs stamps and dies at the Scrapping Cottage.  These adorable stamps and dies are new line being carried at the online store.  Be sure to check them out.

I was attracted to this set in particular.  I think it is because I have two daughters and although they are grown now, it brings back memories of princess parties when they were little.  It is so perfect for a young girl!

I started by coloring the princess and pony using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  These markers come with three shades of the same color in one marker and have bullet nibs.

There are two photos as I used quite a few on this card because I wanted my pony to be rainbow colored.  It reminds me of My Little Pony so I had to use a rainbow!

Next I cut the castle from white cardstock using the Fairytale Castle die.  I used Distress Oxide inks and blending brushes to color it.  I used the Citrus marker to color the windows.

For my background I used two of the slimline dies - the Clouds and the Hills Slimline dies.  I cut stencils using the clouds and then stenciled a sky on a white A2 panel.

For the grass, I cut panels 4 1/2 inches wide so that I could adjust where I wanted the curves.  I trimmed the sides flush with the sides of the panel.

After I adhered both layers of grass I stamped my sentiment in the upper left.

I decided to use the cloud with the castle.  Originally I was just going to nest the castle in the grass but I thought this looked more magical.

The princess is popped up using foam dots and I added some sequins for sparkle.  After all, what's a princess card without sparkle?

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope you have a fun and creative weekend!

You Warm My Heart!

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I have a card to share for my design team post.  There's a new brand under the Scrapping Cottage line known as Lil' Bluebird Designs.  Currently there are 16 new stamp sets with matching dies and they are all on sale!  Today I'm showcasing one of the new sets on my card.

I was immediately drawn to the Coffee Time Stamp and Die set.  I stamped the images on watercolor paper and used my watercolor pencils to create a soft image for a rustic look.  The oval was cut out with the Pierced Oval set using a coffee stained paper.
The paper is from my stash and was the inspiration for my die cuts.  Once I selected my paper it was easy to pick out the coordinating watercolor pencils.
To create my card, I layered the oval on top of the patterned paper.  I placed the sentiment near the splattered coffee inside the oval and the coffee cup was adhered underneath.
Next, I added the disposable style coffee cup on the right side of the oval and affixed the treats in the center.
The heart was the perfect finishing accent on this sentimental card.  I just love how the stamped images coordinate with the patterned paper.
Here are the products used on my card, available in the store:
