Baking Gnomes

Hi!

It's Anja here. I got my dies this week and couldn't wait to try them out. My favourite is Baking Gnomes die and that's why I used it first.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Baking Gnomes, Measuring Cup Snowman),
- Zig water color brushes (Numbers: 010, 022, 060, 064, 069, 071, 072, 090, 092, 095, 097, 302),
- watercolor paper for die cuts,
- craft card base (15x15 cm),
- patterned and craft paper for background (13,5x13,5 and 12,5x12,5 cm),
- snowflake stencil,
- white texture paste,
- spatula,
- gold acrylic paint,
- brush and water brush,
- adhesive foam pads,
- scissors,
- heat gun,
- black pen,
- paper glue.

First I colored the gnomes. I left the pieces stuck to the paper, because it's easier to color this little pieces. I used Zig markers and water brush.

Then I glued the pieces together and did the eyes with black marker.

Then I cut and colored the sentiment. I decided to color it a bit messy. I like the effect.

Then I made the background. I cut the paper, distressed the edges and then spritzed it with gold paint drops.

When the color was dry, I used the stencil and texture paste for the snowflakes. I let it dry.

Then I cut patterned paper and then glued everything together. I used adhesive foam pads for the gnomes.

And this is my finished card.

Hope you like the genomes as much as I do. Don't forget to check the other new dies too. Here's the link to the new collection.

Have a nice Sunday and see you again next week.

Gingerbread Home For the Holiday

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

Our new Christmas dies are available, and on a 25% sale,  in the online store.  There are 29 new designs in this release and it's only Part 1. The design team has been featuring these new designs and we are hoping to give you lots of ideas for your Christmas cards.

For my card today, I am using the Gingerbread House Mini's die. As soon as I saw these cute little houses, I thought of snowbanks and pine trees and the gingerbread houses nestled in among them. And on this card I brought my idea to life. So let's get started with some details on how I created the card.

Step 1: Started my card by cutting the gingerbread houses. I used a soft brown cardstock for the base and then white cardstock for all the trim. The houses are just a bit over 2" when assembled. So this size is perfect for layering on a snowbank.
Step 2: I wanted a snowy background so I used a snowfall embossing folder for texture and ran it through my Big Shot machine.
I cut 3 snowbanks from white cardstock and added chunky glitter to the hill tops.
I stamped my sentiment with the help of my MISTI.

Step 3: Started card assembly. I attached the snowbanks to the embossed background with dimensional adhesive. After I secured the snowbanks, I realized that I covered most of my embossing. I didn't want only 2 hills so I decided to leave it as is.
I added the houses and pine trees to the little snowy scene. The pine trees are older CottageCutz dies. I have a picture and link below of what I used.
I scattered a few red, green and gold sequins around the sentiment just for some added interest and color.
Attached the image panel to a red card base.
Red Card base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Image Panel: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
That completes my card for this week. I hope I have given you an idea for a different way to use these super cute gingerbread houses.
They are on sale in the online store for 25% off. Some of these new dies are selling out so if you are planning on buying some I wouldn't hesitate.

Peaceful Fawns

Happy Friday Cottage Cutz fans!  It's Jeanne today with a serene card using one of the new dies - Christmas Fawns.
These deer really caught my eye when I first saw them.  They make a striking pair.
I cut the deer from Soft Suede and all the other pieces from white card stock.
I used sponge daubers to shade the deer in Soft Suede and their white chests and bellies in Smoky Slate.
Then I used Copic markers to color the birds (R24, R27), ribbon (G19) and branch (E44, E47).
I used a Spectrum Noir Sparkle marker to color the ornament.
On an A2 panel of white card stock I blended Distress Oxide Inks in Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean keeping it darker to the upper right side.
I cut my sentiment from Dazzling Diamonds Glitter paper using a self adhesive backing.
I added Glossy Accents to the ornament.  Although the Sparkle marker gave it some bling I still thought it needed something.
I assembled the panel and added it to an A2 white card base.

The new Christmas dies are on sale for a limited time and they are selling quickly.  The Christmas Fawns used here are temporarily out of stock.  But check back soon for them.

New Christmas Die - Peace on Earth

Good Morning Everyone!

It is Pam sharing with you today from Stamper at Heart Blog Spot.

It is so hard to believe but Christmas is just around the corner!  And CottageCutz is all ready for it!! This is Christmas part 1 of a 2 part release!  And it is just amazing!  Last week when it was my turn to post I shared a die that was perfect for fast multiple cards and this week I have one more to share that works just as beautifully.   The best thing about all these wonderful dies is that right now they are 25% off but just for a limited time! Don't miss out on this fantastic sale!

Design steps:

 1.  Use the Peace on Earth die cut out 3 of the sentiment on vanilla card stock and glue together
 2.  Use the Double Stitch Square die and cut out the second from the largest in vanilla and the next down in size in gold DP
 3.  Use an A2 vanilla card base and a slightly smaller piece of gold DP
 4.  Glue the DP to the front of the vanilla card base
 5.  Use foam tape and glue the two cut squares together
 6.  Glue the Peace on Earth to the gold DP
7.  Cut out vanilla snowflakes using the Snowflake Set die.  I used the 2 smaller snowflakes for the card front.  Glue the square panel to the front of the card add the snowflakes and rhinestones
I did one other variations for you just below.  The only thing I did differently is add Glossy Accents to the sentiment
