Spring bunny and duck

Hi! Janja here with you.
I made two spring cards for today's post. Let's look at them.

- CottageCutz dies: Hide & Seek Bunny, Duckling in Easter Basket, Nested Stitched Scallop Oval Set
- blank card: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" (10,8 x 14 cm), folded
- gingham pattern paper
- colored cardstock
- colored ink pads
- colored markers
- glue, double-sided adhesive tape, self-adhesive foam pads

I started making cards by die-cutting all the pieces for both main motifs out of different colored cardstock. For more depth, I shaded all the pieces with ink pads.

For both cards, I used gingham pattern paper in two colors. I trimmed both papers to the size of a base card and attached them to the front.
For the background I used white cardstock that I cut out as shown. I lightly shaded the background with ink pad and brush.

The bunny and duck are attached to the background with foam pads.

To complete the cards, I trimmed two paper strips and arranged them as in the photos, slightly above and below the central motifs.

Have a nice day.

Easter Ducks with Daffodils

Hi!

It's Anja here. For today's card I made a spring Easter scene. This ducks are so cute and the daffodils are so much fun to craft with.

For this card I used:
- Distress Inks,
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts, background (14x14 cm) and sentiment (14,2x0,8 cm),
- pink card stock for background (14,2x14,2 cm) and sentiment (14,2x1 cm),
- black pen,
- white pen,
- brush,
- plastic stencil (clouds),
- paper trimmer,
- printer,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the duck with the basket.

Next it was the duck with the daffodil.

And then the rest of the daffodils and Easter eggs.

In the next step I trimmed the background paper.

Then I did the clouds using the stencil. I used Distress ink for the grass.

Last I printed the sentiment and trimmed it to match the background.

When I had all the pieces cut and colored I finished the card.

This is all from me for today. Before I go I just want to remind you that all the new dies are still available for 25 % off

Have a nice Sunday! See you again next week.

Anja Z.

DT Samples - Spring Day 6

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Saturday to you! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. We are sampling DT cards using dies from the new Spring dies release.

They are in the online store and 25% off for a limited time. There are 27 new dies in the release and each one is cuter than the next. They will be perfect for your Easter and Spring card making.

We thought you might like to have some new and creative ideas for your Easter or Spring cards using these new dies. The cards today are both in a whimsical style and all about the little ducklings. So let's get started with some details on the cards for today.

Card 1: The first sample today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the new Duckling with Kite die. It's a spring themed card that I am going to be using for a friend's birthday that happens to be the first day of Spring. But it could also be used for a welcome baby card or a thinking of you. There are lots of possibilities for this die so let your imagination go on this one.

I used various colors of cardstock for the images. Added an embossed panel for texture and interest. I completed the card by scattering a few enamel dots.

Card 2:  Our next sample for today is from Janja Albreht. She used the Splish Splash Duckling die to create this super cute card.  This would be another sweet card to welcome a new baby, a Mother's Day card and with the sentiment she used this could be a great retirement card.

Patterned Paper helped to create the sky and grass. She spritzed some light blue glimmer mist on the background.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these new Spring dies this past week. If you missed any of the group posts, click here, here, here, here, and here.  And, if you are thinking of getting any of these new dies, they are on sale for a limited time in the online store.

DT Samples- Spring Day 5

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Friday to you!

The cards today are both in a whimsical style. So let's get started with some details on the cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample today is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the new Spring Frogs die to create her card. We get an extra day this month and it will be Saturday, February 29.  This only happens every 4 years. How often have you said "if only I had another day". Well now you do and Jeanne is celebrating that extra day.

The frog, lily pad and cattails are cut from white cardstock and colored with Distress Oxide inks.  The "water" behind the frog is a patterned paper as is the green background.

For the sentiment, she stamped the "happy phrase" from a birthday sentiment set and then created the "leap day" using a small wood mount alphabet set. She stamped each letter at an angle for added interest and the up and down stamping adds to the leap theme.

Card 2: Our next card for today is from Anja Zurga. She used the new Rooster & Chick die to create this cute outdoor scene. It could be used for a variety of card giving occasions. Think about - thank you, thinking of you, get well or even a Father's Day card. If you changed the sentiment it could be Mother's Day or a birthday card.

The images are cut in white cardstock and then colored with distress inks. The rise and shine phrase is from the die of the same name.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these new Spring dies. We will be back again tomorrow with our final day of group posts. And, if you are thinking of getting any of these new dies, they are on sale for a limited time in the online store.

DT Samples- Spring Day 4

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Thursday to you!

So let's get started with some details on the cards for today. We have 2 different styles today- a religious as well as a whimsical theme.

Card 1: Our first card today is from Pam MacKay. She used the new Calla Lily Cross die to create this beautiful Easter card. It's a representation of the Christian faith and Easter.

She used thick gold foil and put it through her die cut machine with the embossing mat instead of the cutting plate. It came out beautifully and with such elegant detail. The cross is framed with the pierced ovals die.  Her background designer completes her card.

Card 2: Our next sample is from Jeanne Knobbe. She used the Bunny Truck and Bunny Treats dies, along with the clouds from Spring Frogs to create this fun outdoor scene. For the  grassy knoll she used designer paper and a plate as a template for the curve. The sky background is also designer paper. This would be a great card to make multiples and send out for Easter.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these new Spring dies. We will be back again tomorrow with more samples from the team. And, if you are thinking of getting any of these new dies, they are on sale for a limited time in the online store.

DT Samples- Spring Day 3

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Happy Wednesday to you!

So let's get started with some details on the cards for today.

Card 1:  Our first sample for today is from Sukie Dhillon. She used the new Basket of Eggs die to create this ever so sweet card that doesn't necessarily have to be used for Easter. With the sentiment she used, it could be a birthday card or get well wishes or even thinking of you.

Some inking on the card elements gives off a rustic flair.  Her use of the Stitched Rectangle die frames the Easter basket nicely and sets it as the focal point of this card.  The hand cut, half circle is the perfect back drop for this card.
The patterns and colors compliment the Easter basket creating the perfect layout for displaying the Basket of Eggs.

Card 2:  Our next sample for today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the new Springtime Pals die. The horse, die and fence made creating an outdoor spring time scene so easy.

All I needed to do was add a background. I used some light blue designer paper and added clouds and tulips to complete the scene. The Easter phrase on the fence is from the older Bunny Kisses & Easter Wishes die.

Well, that's our samples for today. I hope the team has given you some fresh ideas on ways to use these new Spring dies. We will be back again tomorrow with more samples from the team. And, if you are thinking of getting any of these new dies, they are on sale for a limited time in the online store.

So let's get started with the cards for today.

Card 1: Our first card today is from Janja Albreht. She used the new Spring Daffodils & Eggs die to create a beautiful Easter card. What could be more perfect for an Easter card than daffodils and colored eggs?

The background designer paper presents the illusion of these daffodils growing against a worn fence. And, the use of the oval is giving us a peek into this idyllic scene. She added a purple flag and a white embossed sentiment to complete this lovely card.

Card 2:  Our next sample for today is from Pam MacKay.  She is featuring the new Hello Spring Bloom die and created a cheerful birthday card. Take notice of the cute little snail on the card.

Her choice of flower colors, designer paper and ribbon definitely have a spring vibe going on. She cut her happy phrase in white cardstock to make it stand out against the green background.

She completed her card with the addition of some yellow satin ribbon and bow. The recipient of this card will definitely have a keepsake.
