Monkey Hugs

Hi!

It's Anja here. For today's post I made a card using a monkey die.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Pirate Monkey, Treasure Chest Island, Under The Sea),

- Distress Inks,

- craft card base (15x15 cm),

- white card stock for die cuts and background (14x14 cm),

- black pigment ink,

- sentiment stamp,

- acrylic block,

- white pen,

- brush,

- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the monkey.

Next I cut and colored the stones and the palm trees.

Next I did the background.

And last I stamped the sentiment on the card.

And my card was done.

I wish you all a nice day and successful week ahead. See you again next Sunday.

Sending You Sunny Smiles

Hello!  This is Sukie and today I'm sharing this card for my design team day.  There is a brand new release of Beach & Tropical dies which compliment the Pirates & Sea Creatures from the last die release.  Both of the die sets are currently on sale and also showcased on my card!
I cut out the pieces from the Treasure Chest Island, inked up all of my die cuts and put everything together.  I also cut out a tiny flower from the Tropical Bouquet die set.  The oval base and frame are from the Oval  and Pierced Wide Oval Frame sets.
I found this fun paper in my stash and trimmed it to fit my card base, it reminded me of a sandy beach.  I inked the edges for extra dimension.  I also stamped a sentiment on some coordinating card stock.
The oval frame was layered over the oval base and the die cut piecing was affixed to the framed set.
Next, I adhered the tropical scene on my card base.  The sentiment tag was added at the bottom of my card.
The finishing accent on this card was the gorgeous flower which was used to embellish the sentiment tag. All of the little details are amazing on this little flower!
Here are the dies that I used on my card, available in the store:

Pirate Adventure

Hi!

It's Anja here. My third card using the new dies is this one with a pirate on a treasure hunt. So much fun combining this cute dies.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Pirate, Treasure Chest Island, Camping Phrases),
- Distress Inks,
- white card base (15x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- black pen,
- white pen,
- silver pigment ink,
- gold pigment ink,
- plastic stencil (clouds),
- pencil,
- brush,
- Wink of Stella glitter brush,
- paper glue.

First I cut and colored the pirate. I used black and white pen for the eyes.

Next I cut and colored the island. I used Wink of Sella glitter brush for the necklace and the pearl.

I also cut the adventure phrase and colored it.

Then I did the background. I used a pencil to sketch the coloring lines. I did the clouds using a plastic stencil and a brush.

When all the pieces were ready I put the card together. And below is the final result.

Thank you for stopping by. See you again next Sunday.

You Arrrrgh Awesome

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have lots going on at the online store with a brand new Beach & Tropical release that has 14 new designs. You can currently save a big 60% off the retail price of these dies and pick up the entire bundle for under $100.  The Design Team will begin featuring these new dies next week. We also have a Christmas in July sale with savings of up to 65% on select dies.

For my card today I am featuring the new Pirate die and created a birthday card for a little boy. I always seem to need kid's birthday cards so I like to have them on hand.  So let's get started with some details on how I created my card.

Design Steps:
I am showing a fun fold card this week. This one is called a split panel fold. I started off with an olive card base measuring 4 1/4" x 11". I scored it at 5 1/2" for an A2 size card.
Then I cut the front panel at the 2" mark. From the piece I cut off, I cut another 2" x 4 1/4" panel.

I picked a bright colored designer paper for my layering panel. Bright colors always seem to resonate with little boys. I cut the designer paper at 1 7/8" x 4 1/8"
Next, I decided to cut the Pirate image so I would know how large to make the image panel. I used the cardstock colors to match the designer paper. I used a striped designer paper to give him some fancy pants. For his face, hands and hair I cut in white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. I attached the pieces with Ranger multi-medium matte.
Skin: E00, E11, E21
Hair: E35, E57, E59
For the image panels I used the 2nd largest Stitched Rectangle  (2 7/8" x 3 7/8")& 2nd largest Rectangle (2 3/4" x 3 3/4") dies. I sponged the panel with a cloud stencil and tumbled glass distress ink then sponged salty ocean distress ink for water.
Now that all the elements and panels are cut and stenciled I am ready to start card assembly. I attached the Pirate with dimensional adhesive, I decided to have him stand on a sand dune so I cut one from the Treasure Chest Island die.
Stamped my sentiment "you arrrrgh awesome" on an angle in the right corner in black ink. Used my misty for placement and just in case I needed a second inking. But with this one one inking was perfect.
For the image panel I just used double sided tape on the top and bottom.
I attached the image panel to the card base.

Well, that's my card for this week. I hope I have given you a fresh idea for using this super cute die with the fun fold design. See you next Saturday!

Pirate Monkey!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends,

It is Pam on the blog today!

I am so glad you have stopped by.  This new release called Pirates and Sea Creatures is so much fun.  The cards I am making are so whimsical and just plain fun to create! Today,  I am highlighting the Pirate Monkey and Treasure Chest Island.  The monkey and island are just so detailed and amazing!

Just some quick info about the card.  I used an A2 blue card base.  Cut a circle using the Pierced Circle Set in a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of white card stock.  Place a piece of white card stock behind the circle and brush in 3 different blue inks to create the ocean.  Next I shaded and assembled all of the pieces and then arranged and glued them to the card.
