Hello Friends

Our new Christmas Release is available at a wonderful 30% off.  This collection has over 40 different dies.   It has everything you will need for your holiday paper crafting. Make sure to stop by the online store and check out all the fantastic new designs!

Today, I am using the Christmas Reindeer Puppy.  This little pup is just adorable in his Santa Claus hat and his gift full of his favorite treat! (This card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest created by Yvonne)

Design Steps:

1.  Start with the Christmas Reindeer Puppy die and cut the following colors of card stock: red, white, gray, black, pink and DP green snowflake.  Shade the pups pieces and then assemble with a fine tip glue
2.  Card base is white A2, red cardstock 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, white bazzil 4 x 5 1/4, Green snowflake DP cut with the largest Cross Stitched Circle die (cut the side of the circle as shown above), glitter silver strip with a bevel edge 3 1/2 x 1/4, gray cut with a dovetail 3 1/4 x 3/4, red cut with a dovetail 4 x 3/4, white cut with a bevel edges 3 5/8 x 1 and DP checked cut like an arrow 3 3/8 x 1 3/8
3.  Glue the red to the card base then add the white.  Glue the circle to the right side of the card as shown
4.  Add all the strips in this order: red, gray, white, plaid and then glitter silver.  Place dimension squares on the back of the pup and pop to the card as shown in the first top picture
5.  Using the Snowflake Set and the Merry Christmas Love dies cut out 3 snowflakes in white glitter card stock.  Stamp your sentiment and add to the card as shown below and it is complete

Gingerbread Baker Pocket Card

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Monday edition of the Blog.

Our Christmas dies are in the online store. And, you can still pick them up on a 25% sale. We have Christmas Part 1 (22 new designs), Christmas Part 2 (21 new designs) and Christmas Part 3 (11 new designs).

Today, I have for your viewing pleasure a card featuring the new Gingerbread Baker die from the Christmas Part 1 release.

I created this card using the colors from the Splitcoaststampers color challenge #818. Our own Jeanne was the hostess and she chose some colors that were just about perfect for this gingerbread die. And, the red works well for a Christmas card.

I decided to create a pocket card. It's such a good technique if you want to include a tag in your card. I made one on this post and give all the details on how to create it. And, if you like to watch one being made, you can check out this video on Splitcoaststampers.

I created the card front first using designer paper in the real red color. On the pocket flap, I added vanilla and red ribbon. The little cookie embellishments are from the Sweet as a Christmas Cookie die- Christmas Part 3. Added the sentiment using the Merry Christmas Love die from the Christmas Part 3 release.

On the inside tag, I cut the gingerbread baker in the challenge colors. For this challenge you are allowed other neutrals and I used a medium brown for the baker itself. I attached some curly red ribbon and tied it with some silver cording. Scattered a few red glitter enamel dots.

Here is a photo showing the tag placed inside the pocket.

Well, that's it for me for this post. I hope I have given you another idea for a way to use this new die. See you again on Saturday!

Christmas Card & Ornament

Hi!

It's Anja here. I have a 2 in 1 card for you today. I made a card with an ornament you can remove and place it on your Christmas tree.

For this card I used:

- Cottage Cutz dies (Snowman Joy Ornament, Merry Christmas Love, Circle Set),

- Distress Ink,

- Zig water color brush markers,

- white card base (15x15 cm),

- red card stock for background (14x14 cm) and die cuts,

- white water color paper for die cuts and background (13,5x13,5 cm),

- gold acrylic spray,

- gold marker,

- white pen,

- black pen,

- glitter brush,

- brush,

- thread  (aprox. 20 cm),

- heat gun,

- paper glue.

First I cut the ornament and the circle. I cut two pieces of the ornament. I colored the circle with blue shade of ink.

I combined two ornaments (I cut one piece in the way that all the small pieces stayed in the silhouette) and placed it on the circle. Then I colored it.

Next I cut all the pieces for the background. I cut the ornament out of the watercolor paper. I used the positive and the negative later on. I also cut two sentiments and glued the red paper on the top of the white one.

Then I colored the background. I sprayed gold acrylic color to the glass mat and tapped the paper over it. I dried the paper with the heat gun.

When all the pieces were ready I glued the red background, gold background and one piece of the ornament on the card base. Next I added the sentiment. I only glued letters "m" and "y" of "merry" and "c" and "as" of "Christmas". I also added a bit of glue to the bottom of the rest letters of "Christmas" to hold the ornament. I added a piece of thread to the ornament. When the glue was dried I inserted the ornament in the middle and my card was finished.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a nice day and see you again tomorrow for another post.

Sledding Penguins

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have four brand new releases in the online store. It's Christmas Part 1 (22 new designs), Christmas Part 2 (21 new designs) and a Halloween release (14 new designs). They are all currently on sale and you can save 25% on the individual dies. Christmas Part 3 has just been released and is also on a limited time sale. This one also has savings of 25%.

Today, I have for your viewing pleasure a card featuring the new Sledding Penguins dies. This is such a cute die I couldn't resist  making a Christmas card with it. I have a family member that loves penguins and has a collection so this card will be perfect for her.

But, It doesn't have to be limited to Christmas. You could use this for a thank you card for a Christmas gift received or a winter themed birthday card. So let's get started on the details of how I created my card.

Design Steps:

I knew I had several different snow themed designer papers. I just had to pick the one that I wanted to use. Decided on this blue green shade with touches of white and red. I also cut 2 snow slopes for the penguin sledders.

Coastal Cabana card base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Coastal Cabana designer paper: 4 1/8" x 5 1/4"
Next, I cut my penguins in different cardstocks. I gave them red hats and a coastal cabana sled to match the designer paper.
For the card sentiment, I decided to do a combo of die cut phrase and a stamped sentiment. For the Christmas phrase I used the new Merry Christmas Love die and cut in red cardstock. The Merry & Bright phrase is stamped in red ink.
I am now ready to start card assembly. I attached the snow slopes to the designer paper. The bottom larger slope is attached with dimensional adhesive and the top slope I used double sided tape.

I attached the Penguins to the snow slopes again using dimensional adhesive. I wanted them lifted slightly off the designer paper.

To complete my card, I attached the image panel to the card base. For some added interest I scattered a few red glitter enamel dots. And that's my card sample for this week. I hope I have given you a fresh idea for a way to use this new die. See you next Saturday!
